Advantages: Tasty and chocolaty! Ideal for a snack or a treat. Great with a nice hot cuppa! Disadvantages: You just end up eating too many!!
McVitie’s is one of the most respected manufacturers of biscuits, and make all of the nation’s favourites! From digestives, to rich tea and hob-nobs to shortbread, McVities makes them all. The also make one of my personal favourite chocolate biscuits: Penguins. These chocolate coated biscuits have been nibbled and munched for over 65 years, and still prove to be a real hit!
For anybody (and I don’t think there are many) who haven’t had the delight ... ...a description that will never do them justice: Penguins are a chocolate biscuit bar. They have a layer of chocolate cream sandwiched between two chocolate biscuits, covered in milk chocolate. This description is not nearly as appetising as it needs to be, as these chocolate biscuits are as good as any.
The penguin bar is found in all good supermarkets and even most convenience stores, such is the demand. They are noticeable through their distinctive ...

Advantages: Lots of Chocolate, good snack size, tasty Disadvantages: Takes too long to get in to the wrapper
P-p-people have been p-p-picking up Penguins since 1932 and Briton's p-p-peck their way through 430 million of them every year.
I know this because my carer tells me it says so on the packet; she's also getting excited about the wrapping. I didn't know it, because I am blind, but I've just learned that there is a huge, smiley penguin on the outer package. She thinks he's so happy that there are 9 Penguins inside for 89p.
I am the chief taster, ... ...think about them, and then she'll fill you in on what the packet says. That's the plan, anyway.
The chocolate is of course what I really like about them. Over the years I haven't really noted that they've changed much, but then I'm a true fan, I've always liked the taste.
You can talk about a `chocolate fix' and all that but these are more a chocolate ``experience''.... I experience more than a couple in a day, I am guilty of glutony and I'm proud ...

Advantages: Thick chocolatey taste, delicious! Disadvantages: None that I can think of!
I am going to have a lot of fun writing this opinion because I have a whole packet of penguins to eat – well I have to make sure my opinion is accurate!
For as long as I can remember I have loved McVitie’s Penguins. They are a chocolate bar suitable for any occasion – packed lunches, something to keep you going until lunchtime at work, accompanying a nice cup of coffee or just a general snack for when that chocolate craving comes out!
I have always ... ...is in plentiful supply and has that perfect mixture of biscuit, smushy chocolate and chocolate on its own!
The outer packaging is red with a yellow logo saying penguin on it. The red is a bright, noticeable red so that if you were specifically looking for them in a supermarket they would be easy to find. The logo clearly says ‘penguin’ so there is no excuse to buy anything else! The inner packaging is clear cellophane that holds the individual penguin ...

Advantages: Retro yumminess! Disadvantages: Size matters in this case.
I have no self control when it comes to chocolate. None. A packet of penguins lasts very little time in my house and if I had to criticise them in any way, I'd say they were too small. The Penguins on the wrappers used to wear suits or at least bow ties, but these days they are naked - perhaps taking marketing tips from Holly Valance - maybe we can look forward to some shock tactics, gay penguins or something. Over 65 years old, they've obviously ... ...know what a penguin tastes like, it's two layers of very dense but thin chocolate biscuit with a layer of chocolate cream in between and an outer coating of slightly rippled chocolate. There is considerably less chocolate cream than there was in my opinion. I have scientifically tested this, it used to cover the feet of a Lego man when I was 4 and it no longer does. (For the record, I used an old-skool Lego man, so this isn't a new model with smaller ...

We don't really need yet another review of these but you're getting it anyway!!
I used to be very loyal to these as a youngster; they made excellent snacks or lunchbox/lunchtime tummy fillers/ props. And why not indeed?

Advantages: Melt in the mouth; crisp; nice packaging Disadvantages: A tad boring. Buy some Burbons and dip them in quality chocolate
P-P-P-Pick up a Penguin. No not literally. These is the famous catch phrase for Mcvities Penguin chocolate biscuit bar which Mcvities claims is Britain's favourite sandwich biscuit bar. Oh arr! (or are they just making that up?). To be honest, this is much to gloat about seeing as ther e actualyl aren't that many sandwich biscuits bar on the market anyway. Back to the product/ product related stuff. Penguins come in several flavours (I'm still talking about the biscuit here! Thoguh I've never tried eating a penguin; they could have different flavours for all I know). Call it a shocker but I've never tried the other falvours of Penguin bars which are Mint and orange. I will hazard a guess that the mint ones are going to taste like Viscount mint biscuits and the Orange ones like Viscount ...

First of all, I apologise profusely for the quite, appalling title but I did notice that most of the previous reviews had used a variation of the old "ppppick up" slogan as their titles and so it seemed to be the perfect way to convey my feelings from the outset. Advantages: Trustworthy, tasty, relatively cheap, nostalgic. Disadvantages: Small
I had a chocolate craving the other day so decided to go to sainsburys local- I live next door, see. I picked up these Penguins because you can't really go wrong with a nostalgic Penguin.I had them all the time as a child (who didn't). They cost me 62p for a pack of 9! (Half price offer last week, they're back to £1.24 now).
Penguins are two chocolate biscuits squished together with chocolate cream in the middle and then covered in a very thin layer ... ...last time I had a Penguin was about a year ago and since then they have changed.
They seem a bit smaller, and I think my memory serves me right because there used to be 130 calories per bar and now the packaging says there are 113 calories per bar. I think per 100g the calorie content is the same. I do not think the biscuits are really big enough, basically two big bites and it's gone, so getting through a pack of 9 is far too easy. They are slimmer ...

Penguin are made by Mcvities (only found that out about a minute ago) and they are surprisingly a very tasty thing to eat. Reason that I am shocked by how good they are is that the big two (Nestle and Cadburys) dont make it. So why get it? Well its cheap, tasty and very very moreish.

Advantages: Yummy A Good Snack Not too Pricey Disadvantages: Cant get enough
McVities Penguin chocolate covered biscuits have long been one of my favourites. I admit I love most things which are chocolate oriented but for a great snackand energy boost I cannot think of many better than this delicious product. Penguin biscuits are produced by McVities who are a subsidiary of ... ...and own KP Snacks. McVities themselves were founded in 1884 by Robert McVitie who inherited the family's Edinburgh based baking business. He soon decided to concentrate his resources on biscuits reasoning that biscuits were able to retain their freshness better than either cakes or bread and so could be marketed nationally rather than just in and around Edinburgh.
Penguin biscuits were first introduced to the good old British public in 1937 and ...

I got these At Tesco the other day. It’s a while since I bought them but it was a BOGOF. I got two packets for 82p, the price of one, right here goes
In front of me is a long bright red packet it measures 12 ½ inches by nearly 4 inches. It has a picture of a penguin on the front, a long penguin stretching along the length of the package. They are made by a really good biscuit manufacturer McVities and the packet has (sorry had 8 biscuits in ... ...taste one to let all know what’s its like.
The biscuit is about 3 inches by 1.5 inches and is in a wrapper with a penguin on it holding a bag of goldfish and seems to be entering a funfair. It says it is a milk chocolate biscuit filled with chocolate cream.
They all have a joke printed on the wrapping. This one says “make your penguin last longer” and inside it says, “just think about eating it.”
They also say thank ...

My Opinions
These are in my opinion one of the worlds tasetiest chocolate bars on the market. They are a chocloate bar for any occasion - packed lunches, lunchtime at work, with a cup of tea or coffee, just a general snack to get you by the day, or for all you girls who get that choclatey craving.
I can remember eating penguins when i was a litle boy ... ...years ago - the chocolate is in good supply and the bar is in a perfect consistency with the choclate, the biscuit and the soft chocolatey centre. Taste
mmmmmmmmm, the choclate is smooth, only broken up by the lovely crips biscuit, with a smooth, soft chocolate in the middle. The bar just melts in you mouth sending a lovely choclate sensations around your body. The best thing to do is to find this out for yourslef and get to the shops and buy one.
