Advantages Advantages nice texture of yoghurt and biscuit

Disadvantages Disadvantages the yoghurt is slightly artificial

Trying to avoid intense painful headaches, my tastes have taken a turn away from chocolate and towards biscuits in the past few weeks. I’m not much of a dunking into hot drinks sort of a girl, probably because I only have two hot drinks a day (coffee in the morning, and ovaltine at night) and at neither time do I feel a biscuit is in order. Instead, I like to have a biscuit in the afternoon, and as they can be fairly dry, I usually dip them in a Ski yoghurt. There’s something about the way it moistens the biscuit, and makes it really fruity. I recommend it to anyone. Imagine how excited I was ... more

    5 Stars Have A Break! 20/09/2007
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Low fat, takes away food cravings, very delicious,

Disadvantages Disadvantages The yoghurt melts if you hold the biscuit in your hand for a long time.

McVities make different types of yoghurt breaks there are Tropical Fruit, Strawberry, Apple, Forest fruits etc. However I prefer Tropical fruit and Strawberry Yoghurt breaks. The tropical fruit is made up of a crunchy but soft biscuit which has some pineapples, sultanas etc between it and on top of the whole biscuit is a layer of yoghurt. These are the most delicious biscuits I have ever eaten I can't even explain the taste to you, so you really have to try them out. I mainly buy a pack of six Tropical Fruit flavour and yes I mainly finish them in one day. How did I find out about these ... more

4 Stars 'Go Ahead' and make my day! Review with images 10/07/2004
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Not enough in one packet

Disadvantages Disadvantages The smell is a bit overpowering

Whenever I go on a diet, I always go shopping and fill my trolley with low calorie goodies which won’t tempt me to cheat and buy a king-size bar of Cadbury’s Fruit and Nut. On my last diet led shopping excursion about three months ago, I spied upon a box of McVitie’s Go Ahead Yogurt breaks. In my trolley they went and I have been buying them ever since. The diet has long gone, not because I reached my target weight, but because I got totally and utterly bored of munching on salads, jacket potatoes and disgusting and tasteless ‘Be good to yourself-too good to be true-eat smart-low calorie ... more

Advantages Advantages Sweet, crispy, chewy -overallnice textures and flavours

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not healthier than an average biscuit

I am reviewing the 'Strawberry' flavour yogurt bakes through there are other flavours in the range such as: Plain, Raspberry, Blueberry, Tropical Fruits and Forest Fruits. You can purchase 'Go Ahead slices' which are exactly the same except they do not have the yogurt on the top. These ones are available in: Apple and Sultana, orange and Sultana and Forest Fruit. You get 2 yogurt breaks per pack, which is green with a CG picture of the product on the front and a picture of the fruit that is contains in the background. It describes: 'a delicious yogurt flavour topping on a light crispy biscuit ... more

Advantages Advantages Great taste and healthy for you

Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit too much packaging

I recently purchased some Strawberry go ahead yoghurt breaks. I have always enjoyed these and tried the range of flavours and so far strawberry is probably my favourite. ~~~ Packaging ~~~ The strawberry yoghurt breaks are displayed in a new bright green box which certainly stands out on the shelf in the supermarket and puts across the image of being healthy. On the front of the box is the go ahead logo, pictures of strawberries and another of one of the yoghurt breaks which looks very appetising. Also on the front of the box proudly displayed are the nutritional information and amount of ... more

Advantages Advantages Taste different, good alternative snack food

Disadvantages Disadvantages None really but are a little on the dry side

I’ve always been a bit of a fan of yoghurt covered biscuits, so when I spied these on the supermarket shelf, I was keen to give them a go. Being familiar with the Go Ahead brand developed by McVities, I knew that they’d be better for me than your average biscuit. The Go Ahead range was initially launched in 1996 as a response to the nation’s growing concern for a healthier low-fat diet according to McVities and the whole range which includes cakes and snacks are up to 97% fat free. The Go Ahead range is aimed at adults who snack as a part of life and don’t want to ... more

    5 Stars Great snack! 27/04/2011
    User recommends the product

Advantages Advantages Handy to keep one in your handbag as they are individually wrapped

Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive when not on offer

I first tried these Mcvitie's Go Ahead Yogurt Breaks when they were on offer in Asda 2 for £2. They are usually about £2.25 a box so when they are on offer it is a bargain! However yesterday, whilst shopping in my local b & m store i spotted them in there for £1 a box! Go Ahead yogurt breaks are just like a garibaldy. They are a light crispy biscuit, which has a thin layer of yogurt topping. Inside the yogurt break is a sultana and raspberry flavoured filling. These Go Ahead Yogurt Break Bars come in a box of 6 packs, and there are 2 yogurt breaks in each pack. The box is a bright green colour ... more

    Advantages Advantages Healthy, delicious snack

Disadvantages Disadvantages Hmm... not really any that I can think of!

The Product.... Go Ahead Yoghurt Breaks are a relatively new healthy snack from McVities. The brand itself suggests quality - we all know how delicious Mcvities digestive biscuits are after all. But what makes these so different to any other cereal/health bar? Hopefully, this will be obvious by the time you have finished reading this. I definitely recommend them, anyway. Rest assured that if you are looking for a slightly different snack besides Nutri-Grain bars or Special K bars, you have found it by picking up this snack. Who invented this wonderful snack... McVities first became popular in ... more

Advantages Advantages A very nice change

Disadvantages Disadvantages Does it realy count as a biscuit

I first tried one of these a while ago and although at the time didn't think it was exactly my cup of tea I decided to try them again this time with a cuppa. They come foil wrapped in a white wrapper and there are two quite large biscuits in each pack. Each biscuit is 3cm wide and 8cm long approx and slightly less than .5cm high, although the size is by no means large that takes nothing away from the fact that these are a very surprising eat. The uneven texture resembles that of a Ryvita cracker but on a larger scale of bump, there appears to be pieces of fruit intertwined with the biscuit ... more

The delicious famous Mc Vities Go ahead plain breaks. Well you ladies im sure can agree with me here, you know you want something to eat but you don't know what well…..I was in one of those moods and finally decided to pick up a box of Go ahead in a Co-Op store, I have never had one of these before but they soon sorted out my problem of not know what to eat, but it doesn't mean MEN cant have these : ) When I bought these I could not wait to get stuck into them.
