Advantages Advantages Some excellent levels, Great musical score, Replay potential, Available cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some glitches, Graphics could have been more polished, Some poor levels

Electronic Arts must have reached the point by now where they feel that all they need to do to make a game a success is to stick the words "Medal of Honor" on the front cover. The Medal of Honor (MoH) series has been on the go for a number of years, and has produced a series of mostly successful World War 2 themed shooters across a variety of platforms, including one of my favourite PS2 games, Medal of Honor Frontline. It was the great enjoyment that I got from Frontline that has been encouraging me to try out other games in the series in the hope of finding something that catches my ... more

HIDEOUS ERROR OF JUDGEMENT # 1 The Japanese are in the midst of executing the biggest strategic error in the history of warfare. Squadrons of fighters are deploying wave after wave of explosives upon the Hawaiian U.S. military base Pearl Harbour (drop the ‘u’s in Harbour if you must) slaughtering over two thousand service men and civilians in the process, and sucking the dormant power of America into WWII. Oops. HIDEOUS ERROR OF JUDGEMENT # 2 I am in the midst of executing the biggest purchasing error in the history of retail. My wallet is deploying note after note upon the GAME counter ... more

Set for the first time in the pacific Theatre of Ops from 1941-1944. Medal of Honour gives players a sense of the courage it took to fight the Japanese from pearl harbour to the Philippine Islands. You are in the Character of US Marine Corporal Joseph Griffin. With the game you are given a manual which gives you information on all the characters in the game, all the weapons you can collect, how to play and a list of items you can collect on your way. Disadvantages Disadvantages Graphical discrepencies, collision parameters are poor, short

When the original Medal Of Honor burst onto the scene in 1999, it became the mother of all 'sleeper' hits. Not only was it enjoyable, atmospheric and brilliantly designed, it represented one of a very select number of FPS games to have worked effectively on the PlayStation format. With MOH selling well and EA pulling the strings, it was perhaps no great surprise to see the series output upped for the PS2 - four entries having appeared on the console. When Frontline debuted in 2002, it proved an unlikely success - it was no longer unique amongst its peers in that there were many competent FPS ... more

    Advantages Advantages Amazing sound.

Disadvantages Disadvantages It will only last for a while

The ‘Medal of Honor’ series are one of Elecrtronic Arts (EA's) best game series and Medal of Honor titles such as ‘Frontline’ on Gamecube, Playstation 2 and X-Box have reached number 1 in the charts. First of all the bad things about Rising Sun is that it's even shorter than Frontline, I mean a lot shorter. There are only nine levels, It's a quick game when it comes to gaming. another bad point is how strong the enemies were, I found myself emptying entire clips on one guy on numerous occasions, and some gurs can even take more than one shot to the head, am sorry but that isnt right. Also ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not enough levels

Well EA games have struck again, this time with yet another amazing Medal of Honor game. The game starts the same way in which World War 2 for the Americans started off, with an attack on Pearl Harbor. From here you, an American Marine Corporal called Joseph Griffin must single handedly defeat the all of the Japanese soldiers that attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941. (Not really but it bloody feels like it). Starting Off There are 5 different controller layouts for you to use, but I recommend that you stick to the default control settings because it is less complicated and easy to ... more

Advantages Advantages Great Atmosphere, First two levels are very impressive, levels are quite long

Disadvantages Disadvantages 'Concrete jungle' Can't shoot through trees, very linear, too short, poor multiplayer

I brought the game expecting the usual Medal Of Honor experience, gritty realistic graphics, oozing in atmosphere and playability and to some extent thats what I got. However my enjoyable gaming experience was cut very short by a main single-player that lasted the wrong side of 6 hours, and a lack of Nazi' - come on they're what made MOH so fun. The first two levels as not as impressive as Omaha beach from Frontline, but still have a great cinematics feel to them. You awake from your bunk just as Pearl Harbour is being attacked and so make your way through the ship to the top where you get to ... more

Advantages Advantages Very Realistic, Excellent Graphics, Larger Levels Than Frontline

Disadvantages Disadvantages Easier Than Frontline, Nothing to Go Back Too

Ever since the Medal Of Honour games were launched for the Playstation I have always been a fan and after playing the brilliant Medal Of Honour Frontline was keen to get my hands on the latest version. For those of you that don't know the Medal Of Honour games are first person shooters based on various events of the second world war. I purchased the game from Argos in December 2003 shortly after it's release for £29.99. BACKGROUND Rising Sun Is set after Frontline and is based on the Japanese Invasion of Pearl Harbour. You play the part of Corporal James Patterson who is stationed at Pearl ... more

As I was scrounging around in the loft, I stumbled across my old copy of ‘Medal of Honor: Rising Sun’. Apart from the fact that the American producers spelt honour wrong, the game was everything that the modernised games of today are not: factual, a well designed campaign, and the awesome ability to immerse the player in the game, so that he felt as though he was really in the war. This goes far beyond simply employing the newest graphics. It was little things that counted. Throughout the campaign, the player receives letters from his sister, who is safely residing in the USA. She talks about ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Doesnt seem long enough.

I bought this game a few years ago, after watching the trailor on T.V. So, i go to the shop, get it for £29.99, rush home, grabbed a pack of smokes and popped the disk in. I was amazed at the graphics, its a VERY relistic game, explosions, buildings, everything is outstanding. From the little things, like watching small bits of grass sway back and forth in the light wind to a building or tank being blown, The pieces flying towards your direction, it did, infact make me duck a few times. The first level has to be my best, the screen shakes when the boat gets hit, you run around watching your ... more
