    Piercing. The one word that, to many parents and parents of teenagers (particularly girls), causes massive arguments and shouting matches, protestations of independence, and replies of “over my dead body.” Ok, so the scene at my house wasn’t quite that drastic, but my mother had made it quite clear to me that the question of my getting my bellybutton pierced was out of the question.     Bodypiercing, where to begin. This thrill of a new piercing is overwhelming as a teenager. After one, you want another and another.. until you run out of places to get pierced. Once you hav gotten this far, or have grown up, the cheap thrill seems to evaorate, forcing you to move onto bigger and better things to acheive your thrills, such as tattoos and going to overage clubs etc. ----MY PIERCINGS---- I was an avid piercer a couple of years ago.     Until Saturday 17th July 2004, I only had two pierced holes in my body and that was simply one on each ear. I actually tried to have a second hole pierced in each ear when I was about 16 and wanted to be young and trendy. However, a second hole was added to one ear with a gun; I was a total wimp, screamed in agony and refused to have the other one done!     Naval Piercing also known as "belly button piercing" is very common with teenage girls. Ive always liked the naval piercing ever since i was 13 but i was also very scared of getting it done as i was told by many friends that its painful. A few people also commented on how it hurt to walk after the piercing as the pain was so bad. Now being 18 i thought it was about time i went for it and got my naval pierced!     As a child I desperately wanted to have my ears pierced but alas my daddy said NO!! Howwever after successfully mithering the life out of him for years, and very craftily waking him up a 6am to make him promise I could have them done (crafty but effective as dad's never break their promises!), I eventually got my ears pierced at the now popular body shop, Vogue.     As you all know I have recently had abit of an image thing going on. I have had some piercings recently and wanted to give some advice on it. I had my first piercing at the age of nine. Of course this was my ears and to most serious piercers is not really considered body piercing. I am going to go through each I have and also what's available from most good piercing shops. Using these shops are tattooists. I have since learned that piercers only do a two day course. One at a hospital for airborne blood diseases and hepatitis, etc. And one day with a piercer in a shop.     ~~*Ears!*~~ I'm such a wimp when it comes to pain and said last time I would never have anything else pierced! Saying that its not like I've actually got a lot done! I had my ears done when I was six, and that was only because my best friend had had hers done and I felt left out! I then had a second lot of holes done when I was 11 because I thought it was cool and looked nice.     I may not be the best person at giving advice on piercing's, as i only have 4 ( well 6, four earrings,my navel and my tounge) but i know people with an assortment of piercing's, so I know a fair bit and can give their experience’s too! I have had my ear's pierced twice, the first done when i was about a year old. I was a little fat baby, and people couldn't tell if i was a boy or a girl, so my mum, in her wisdom, dressed me in pink and got my ears pierced.
