Advantages Advantages Interesting, Entertaining and Economical

Disadvantages Disadvantages Need Much Time and Patience

Buying a new Personal Computer (PC) which is expected to accommodate someone’s requirements or needs sometimes is quite difficult, especially with limited budget. However, with a little bit of patience, general knowledge on PC components and serious efforts, I am sure s/he can build a ‘dream PC’ though with limited budget. Here I am going to share with you my experience in building a PC in low cost for everyone’s personal requirements based on my own experience in running my small PC-shop. Yes, I always try to build inexpensive PCs for my consumers in order to create competitive offers; before ... more

Buying a PC can be very confusing, especially with so many products to choose from. The PC market is huge & so it is very easy to purchase the wrong computer if you go in blindly without actually knowing anything about the system you are buying. We all know PC`s are not cheap & we also know that most of us have made some bad choices in the past. It also doesn’t help that every Christmas our computers are almost twice as powerful as the previous years - keeping up with the new technology is not easy so the more reason to be on the ball when purchasing. How many of you have bought more than one ... more

Advantages Advantages Thinking about what is on offer

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Buying too soon

I started university 2 years ago doing a degree in Information Systems, which envolves using computers. I decided that if I was to do well in my course it would be useful to have my own PC at home. I had saved up about £1000 and I expected to use this to buy the PC and hopefully get a bit of change back. Before I came to university I knew little about computers and I think this was probably the only reason why my choice looking back now, turned out to be a wrong one. I am just dreading mentioning the company I bought my PC off and that was PC (cough cough) World. This just happend to be the ... more

Advantages Advantages You could find a very good deal!

Disadvantages Disadvantages You may buy a duff computer!

Computers, computers...you see them everywhere you go. Whether it be someone's house, an office, a shop or even in a delivery van. The question is, when I buy a computer, how can I be sure that I'm getting good value for money? Don't worry, stevie-boy's here to help you on your quest to find a good computer! I work part time in a computer shop so I have good background knowledge on what to buy. For this piece of advice, I'll split the computer into four parts, the box, the monitor, the essential externals and the optional externals. The Box (CPU) ... more

Advantages Advantages There's some bargains out there..

Disadvantages Disadvantages .. but some real rotten deals too.

Here it is: Matt’s guide to finding the perfect PC! **INTRODUCTION** This is quite a pointless category really - if you're reading this you most likely own a PC already, right? Never mind, this is for those who are upgrading their computer, need some advice on which kit to buy, or are just curious! It's a big bad world out there, and buying computers is no exception. Those pushy salesmen will fleece you if you're not careful! Best to arm yourself with some expert knowledge before you enter the market! Some of this stuff is pretty difficult to explain properly, but bear with me and I'll do my ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages They'll be right

************WARNING****************** **** ********LONG OPINION ************* This op is a bit paradoxical (or perhaps oxymoronic?). In order to read it you will obviously have to have a PC, yet it talks about choosing your first PC. My thought is that you who already have machines may want to print this out for any of those friends or colleagues who ask you on a regular basis for advice on what to purchase! Because any fule knowe that anyone who has a computer MUST be an expert on the subject! **************************************** Why on earth do you want a computer? They’re expensive ... more

Advantages Advantages can get up to 10% off

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Takes time

Here's a bit of a different review. If you're expecting me to tell you WHAT to buy, then don't bother reading on. I'm going to tell you how to buy a PC or Laptop for the cheapest price, how to deal with those sales people. Firstly, you must know the way that computers (and most expensive things) are priced. They are always able to sell them at about 10% discount and still make enough profit. The sales people have been given instructions that they can barter to a certain point. This point is different for each item. Notice if you do try and get the price down, they will "see their manager" ... more

Advantages Advantages Take your time and buy the PC that is right for you

Disadvantages Disadvantages Impulse buying leads to poor choices

There are many stressful things in life; going to the dentist, getting married, driving test through the hazardous streets of Pontypridd, kissing a girl for the first time, kissing a boy for the first time!!!. But one thing that isn't often considered stressful is buying a computer! Before even setting out to buy a computer you should really think about what you will use the computer for and how you will use it. For games – depending on the game, games often push a PC to the limits. Games more often than not run better on a high end PC with a very good graphics card, a great sound card ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Preys on your mind when it goes wrong

Gird your loins, gentle readers, and prepare for a sparkle to appear in your shining eye, for dave27 is about to lead you into the land of total pleasure. This evening, as a once in a lifetime experience, we rush headlong into the world of big boys' toys, for the subject of this evening's sermon is buying a computer system, the best a man can get. Blokes are funny really, because they remain forever, no matter how old they get, just a big kid at heart, easily pleased and simply impressed by flashing lights, operating manuals and boasting that 'My RAMs bigger than your RAM..." And nothing ... more

ON BUYING A NEW COMPUTER. I recently bought myself a replacement computer for my home office use. In consequence it needed to be a general workhorse machine (word processing, database development, internet access, occasional games player) rather than conform to any one specialist format. I also decided to invest in a photo quality printer to go alongside my digital camera to help me develop my photographic hobby. (I am in the process of reviewing these items elsewhere) The actual choice and specification of the machine was, to me, not critical. It needed to be – at least temporarily – speed ... more
