phone radiation.

Advantagesmobiles are great when you have to keep in touch emergencies etc.

DisadvantagesThere are warning noises from the Govt. they probably know more than they let on.

"The debate is on again, with govt. saying the earphone is safer and the Consumers' Association sticking to its original view that the 'hands free'wires act as an aerial for radiation. Who is right? Surely by this time, and access to fast-breeding animals it would be possible to have some scientific data, so it looks as though there's a cover-up. What will come of the U.S.litigation started by the doctor with brain cancer? Watch and see. It should be ..." Read review

Hands-free is safer

Advantagessafer when mobile, reduced radiation

Disadvantagescables break, cables can snag and rip out your ear

"Today a report indicates that hands-free is a safer way of using a mobile phone which was always going to be the case. The Which? report was clearly based on unsound detecting techniques. To remove any doubts from hands-free units all that is required is to fit ferrite absorbers around the cable. Whilst there is some doubt as to the level of Radio Frequency (RF) power that the body can safely tolerate then hands-free is by far the best option. ..." Read review

Let's All Glow Together!

AdvantagesWonderful communication technology

DisadvantagesNothing that has come near to being proved

"The great problem with the subject of cellular radiation is that, like most of the modern-day scare stories we hear about, no-one actually seems to know the truth. Whenever some scientist, either through a genuine desire to be of service to mankind, or (am I being perhaps just a tad cynical?) to get their name in the news and so further their own career, comes up with a POSSIBLY dangerous scenario, the newspapers always seem to treat the item as ..." Control is the key

AdvantagesGreat for Emergency Situations

DisadvantagesRadiation

"Cellular phones have been getting more and more popular with the consumer. At first, everyone figures that they should get a cellular phone because it is the latest technology. It is not until after they have been out a while that you start to get this kind of information about radiation. It should serve as a warning to those people who use their phone for every call they make. Many people always talk on their cell phone with no regard for common ..." Read review

Cell Phones - Dangerous ?

AdvantagesConvenient, cheap,

DisadvantagesPoor signal, slight health risk,

"Mobile phones like most things in life carry a very small risk. In their case, it is radiation. This risk has to be weighed against the benefits of using mobile phones. As long as each user has the relevant information, they can decide themselves if the "risk" is worth taking. The risk increases depending upon just how much you use the phone. If the industry can think of ways of reducing the risk, then these improvements should be made but it will ..." Read review

Don't believe the hype!

AdvantagesNo real conclusive evidence of danger for moderate use

DisadvantagesPossibility that heavy use is dangerous

"I've yet to hear any convincing evidence proving that mobile phones emit dangerous levels of radiation. Certainly, we've heard some reports saying there are dangers and some saying they are safe. If there was a convincing body of evidence there would be a consensus amongst the 'experts'. As it stands the findings we've heard so far do suggest that there is a possibility that mobile phone use can be harmful and that further studies should be ..." Read review

Worrying about nothing

Advantagesno problems whatsoever

Disadvantagesnone

"I think there will prove to be no problems with radiation from proximaty to mobile phones. It is the common for the public to become worried about such problems. The only health risk possible from mobile phone radiation is the chance that you may get a radiation BURN from the aerial on your phone. This will only happen if the aerial is taken off and the metal piece revealed during a call, or perhaps if the aerial is faulty. The newest mobile phones ..." Read review

mobile phone radiation

AdvantagesUse a hnads-free headset

Disadvantagesdon't spend all day with the phone to an ear

"I have to say that I think the jury is still out on this topic. THe serious contradictions one sees in the media simply make the decisions even more confusing. However, taking simple precautions should not be ignored - I do believe that the use of hands-free headsets should be encouraged, if only because they are convenient and mean that your phone can be kept out of sight from the opportunist thief in crowded areas. I also consider that their ..." Read review

Dis-information

AdvantagesConvenience, relative simplicity

DisadvantagesTheft, loss, possible radiation risk

"...proven'. As a former member of the Armed Forces who instructed in Radio Communications, I KNOW that the majority of the disclaimers are hog wash. Why if it is safe to use these pieces of equipment are the relays aerials so heavily fenced in? Why is it so difficult to obtain information at a local level? Try explaining to local schools etc who are blinded by the offer of cash when a company wants to erect a mast that they are putting their pupils at ..." Read review

Passive Radiation

Advantages

Disadvantages

"I'm not a mobile phone user on any regular basis but like everyone else I'm constantly in the proximity of those who are. All the experts tend to suggest that cellular radiation is only a problem to the phone user and even then only if the equipment is held too close but wasn't the same type of opinion being ventured about the dangers of lung cancer to smokers decades ago? Passive smoking has only been recognised in comparatively recent times but ..." Read review

Get the denial coherent

AdvantagesUseful for emergency contact

DisadvantagesUsage cand become banal and excessive

"As a Physicist I was always uneasy about the prospect of placing a source of microwave radiation next to my skull. My misgivings were amplified by the splendid public relations gaffe by one of the mobile phone companies, when many years ago one of their PR persons said: "There is no danger to health posed by the usage of mobile phones... and anyway, the radiation from them is very low...". The fact that they had obviously been measuring the ..." Read review

Hands Free Kits

Advantages

Disadvantages

"Although there has been much research conducted to establish the amounts of radiation emitted by mobile telephones and the possible health risks associated with such emissions there has been as far as I am aware very little research conducted with regard to the use of hands free kits. What little research I have managed to track down seems to be very inconclusive with independant experts disagreeing with government opinion and even each other. Given ..." Read review

Safe Levels of Radiation ???

AdvantagesIndividual Decision Making

DisadvantagesThere is a % of risk.

"Presumably there are safe levels of Radiation ? Perhaps, but whose do you accept ? UK limits set by the National Radiation Protection Board are three times higher than levels allowed in Australia and New Zeland and Five times more than the European Standard. Italian regional authorities have levels Four times less. If a " Safe Level" is well understood why the variation ?? So Are the Masts A health Risk ?? An Austrailian study reported an ..."
