    Okay … an admission now … My latest little absence has been due to a short excursion into the world of " Nip Tuck . " I had to jam it into my schedule between our last return from France and our next departure , which gave me a 5 week window of opportunity during which I had to have my op and heal enough to be fit for public viewing before the next trip . Frightening small children and hiding from our French friends and neighbours wasn't an option , so I needed to allow myself enough time for all scars to heal and begin to fade before the end of May .     I haven't always been a BIG girl, well not all over anyway, but I have always been BIG up top. I recall waking up one morning when I was about 13 and suddenly over night had grown two massive footballs on my chest...or that's what I remember...I don't remember having a pretty training bra like my mates but I do remember having something which resembled Boediciea's breast plate. (Not a good thing when you have a communal changing room.) I took a lot of stick for having more than my fair share of boob, but only from the girls.     Cosmetic surgery. Well I did the breast implant thing a few years ago now. I had just come out of a particularly bad marriage and had lost a major amount of weight so it seems most of your boobs are made of fat so you loose it from there first. Now I never had massive boobs before I lost weight not gonna give you sizes in case I offend so had very little left and was just plain unhappy. Decided I wanted to get a boob job.     So its been 2.5 years since the birth of my darling horror who goes by the name of Madison "buggerlugs" Brown and after 3 times a week in the gym give or take, I'm still unable to loose the fatty bit around my tummy, the rest of my body is fine. You see I've always carried my weight on my tummy area even before my daughter, so no matter how many sits ups or amount of cardio I do it just wont seem to shift.     Advantages Advantages I can see again without looking under my eyelids

    I had never in my life heard of the word Blepharoplasty which I later found out is the clinical name for eye lid surgery. I have never had heavily set in eyes and as I got older my upper lids got heavier and saggy. Ena Sharples and Michael Gambon spring to mind as having eyes like I had. It was an effort to raise my eyebrows so my daughter suggested I go visit my doctor to discuss the problem. Although I have private medical cover, it does not cover plastic surgery so I was apprehensive to even mention such a thing to my GP.     Some of you may have read this before, however I decided to post it over here after watching 'Cosmetic Surgery LiveI' the other evening. I was really watching it to see what the hell 'anal bleaching' was (I know now, and I wish I didnt!). As I was watching 'up' came the issue of vaginal surgery, not only did the subject come up but I got treated to a full on operation! Initially this was written after another programme was aired.     I'm still new to Ciao and only just noticed there is a section for cosmetic procedures, I've had rhinoplasty ( a nose job ) so I thought I'd fill you in on my experience. At school I was called names and picked on because of my nose, I inherited my dads nose which is rather large with a bump in the middle. The names people used to call me still echo in my head today : concorde, pelican and hunchback were just a few. I thought about surgery but was too young to afford it and I knew my parents couldn't either so I carried on as I was, hiding behind long hair and suffering with low self esteem ... more

    Having recently undergone private cosmetic surgery using The Hospital Group and having had such a wonderful experience with them I wanted to share my thoughts. Whilst I don't wish to go in to the ins and outs of what I had done I must say from my first contact with the Hopital Group through to recovery they were with me every step of the way.     After 10 years of living with less than A-cup boobs i finally decided to book a consultation with Surgicare for BA. The staff were so nice and before i knew it i was paying the deposit and was booked in with 2 weeks to go! I was so excited, but just days before my admission date they phoned me saying that due to my blood results they were not prepared to operate. They went on to say they were keeping £100 admin fee but wouldn't tell me what was wrong with my blood! I was so gutted. what was so wrong that would stop them from operating?     Disadvantages Disadvantages Don't expect to see the surgeon who did your op until 7 - 8 weeks later!

    My gripe with The Hospital Group relates to the aftercare treatment. Up until then all was fine, or as good as could be expected. I went to Dolan Park for liposuction, to three areas, under a general anaesthetic. There was a long wait for the surgery, but someone has to wait! Surgery took place about 2.00 pm and I came around about 4.00 pm I think. The nurses were very attentive and the room etc was spotless. But then the next day, it did feel like I was on a conveyor belt and they were only keen to get then next lot of paying customers in. I was woken at 5.30am (though was already half awake) ... more
