If I can, you can too!

Advantages: Cheaper than buying them, satisfaction of doing it yourself
Disadvantages: Takes a bit of time, but I have plenty of that!

JR Universal inkjet black refill kit. This is rather a long review, and I hope not to boring. For my 50th Birthday, my Family kindly clubbed together and bought me a computer, not a new one, just a basic second hand model with windows 98, but it did me a treat, it had no speakers, or printer with it, but I found a pair of compatible speakers at a car boot for £1.00. My Sister had an old Hewlett Packard DeskJet 600 printer in her garage, which she ...
...(not colour) and as there was no ink cartridge in this printer, I promptly went out to buy one… To my horror they were really expensive, good job it wasn’t a colour one, as there was no way I would have been able to afford a colour cartridge as well, I spent most of the morning shopping around for the cheapest, and found a compatible one in a little computer shop, for £14.99, after seeing them priced elsewhere at between £17-£23. I bought it quickly ...

A GUIDE TO DIY INKJET REFILLS

Advantages: Save money!
Disadvantages: Need patience!

Inkjet cartridges are very expensive, particularly so for Hewlett Packard printers, although I am sure that most makes of printer have equally expensive cartridges. You can get the Hewlett Packard printers at very competitive prices now, and I have a Deskjet 710c, which has been replaced by newer models, nevertheless I think it is a good quality printer, quiet, and the print quality is crisp and clear. The only downside to this printer for me, is ...
...to run out fairly often, as I am always printing information which I find on the web, apart from the fact my grandchildren also like to print stuff too! The cost of a new HP cartridge is around £27 for a tri colour cartridge and £21 for a black cartridge. In an attempt to save money I purchased a recycled colour cartridge from PC World, cost £21.99, “great” I thought, a saving of £5 - £6 pounds! When I got home I replaced my empty ...

Refill in situ, cartridges last even longer.

Advantages: Offers huge saving on new cartridges
Disadvantages: can be messy and fiddly

Like many people I find the cost of new printer ink cartridges too expensive. I have tried the alternative route of buying refurbished ones where empty cartridges are cleaned, refilled and resold. My opinion, don’t waste your money. The simple reason is the cartridge’s metal contacts are very delicate and are made useless by taking them in and out of the printer numerous times. If you get a well used refurbished cartridge it simply won’t work or ...
...painful and expensive experience. A better idea which I now use you may want to try, is refilling your own cartridges. Nothing new in that you say but I fill them in situ and it extends the cartridge life considerably. You will need either a colour inkjet refill kit or a black inkjet refill kit or both obviously depending on your needs. JR Universal refill kits tend to be the most popular and are available everywhere, even my local supermarket ...

Everybody wants to save money, I do it this way

Advantages: great cost reduction
Disadvantages: you may get dirty

At home we use a Lexmark printer (Z31). Actually, we’re quite happy with it. It is good value for the money and the print image is okay. But it has one substantial error: it needs terribly expensive ink cartridges. You can keep comparing prices, you just won’t find anything for a reasonable price. I mean reasonable for the shopper – for the producer it is reasonable! The black cartridges cost about 24 $, the colour cartridges about ...
...a look into a catalogue for office supplies and really – the cartridges were a bit cheaper there. But only a BIT. Accidentally I found something else there, a refill set for ink cartridges, and that was MUCH cheaper! The one for black cartridges costs 13 $, for the colour cartridge 15 $. In fact I was a little sceptic, how that should work, but for that price I had to test it at least. Resolvedly I ordered 2 sets ("Pharao Refill Sets"). No ...

J.R.Ink Makes You Think

Advantages: more ink for your money
Disadvantages: Erm. is there any?

J R Universal Inkjet Refill Kits --------------------------------------- A little while ago (15/9/02 to be exact-still have the receipt) I purchased the J R Universal Inkjet Black Refill Kit from my local Asda store for £8.09. I bought it because my Epson printer had ran out of black ink and quite frankly I didn’t want to pay the price (around £15 - £20) for the manufacturers ink, which only re-fills once.(If this makes me a bit tight, then so ...
...got the receipt after all this time I hear you ask. This will become apparent shortly. But first let me tell you about the kit. The kit came in a blister pack and contained: • 1 25ml bottle of flush (to flush the print heads with). This is a free extra. • 2 25ml bottles of black ink (the colour version contains 1 bottle of each colour i.e. magenta (red), cyan (blue) and yellow). • A syringe and steel tube attachment (for filling your cartridge). ...

Why buy new when you can refill for less

Advantages: Cheaper
Disadvantages: Can be messy

After some deliberation I yet again made a trip down to PC World, not my favourite shop as staff tend to be totally useless. But, if you know what you want and you do not have to ask any questions you know you can be in and out within a flash. There are many refill kits on the market, from the well known brand JR Inkjet Refills or shops own brands, you get the same amount of ink in each bottle as you do in the more expensive brands, and the instructions ...

PC World's price for the black refill kit was £10.00 which contained 2 x 30ml bottles and the colour was £17.00 for 3 x 30 ml bottles. The refill kit will last up to 6 refills and when you only pay £10.00 for a box and you have to pay around £15 ...

Coca-Cola Marketing Strategy

Advantages: Saves more money
Disadvantages: Makes your hands and table dirty if you're not patient - LOL

Inkjet printers are not expensive nowadays. Having an inkjet printer is very useful to print documents, photographs, and other materials. But, when the time to change the ink cartridge comes, it makes us think things, because as I have observed that the price of a new ink cartridge equals to 1/3 of the price of the printer itself! It is the fact! As an alternative, fortunately we could buy the cartridge refills though refilling a cartridge is not ...
...refilling a cartridge might cause a damage on the cartridge. It is also the main reason why most ordinary inkjet printers are not expensive nowadays as the manufacturers could earn more profit from their customers’ purchasing on their ink cartridges. I am sure it is their new marketing strategy! Some New Issues You Should Know And I have heard some rumors saying that some printer manufacturers have applied a chip on each of their cartridges that ...

Cheaper ink Cartridges from Ink2u.co.uk

Advantages: Cheaper Ink for most Brands
Disadvantages: None that I can think of

I found www.ink2u.co.uk via an opinion by davegroom here on Ciao and decided that I would have a look when we needed some ink in a hurry and had found that the cartridges for our Lexmark Z12 wouldn’t refill properly with the ink that I had purchased. The site itself is really easy to navigate. From the home page you select the brand of printer that you have and then select the model of the printer. This then brings up all the products in stock ...
...a Lexmark Z12 and have found the cartridges to be between £25 and £30 in our local shops, if they have them in stock. At ink2u.co.uk the remanufactured cartridges are £16.95 for Black and £18.95 for a colour, or £34.40 for the two, so we ordered them on Sunday night. They arrived on Tuesday morning - now that’s what I call service. Along with the order came a price list, and two plastic envelopes in which to send back the used cartridges that ...

fill your own,i'ts easier on your pocket

Advantages: cheaper than branded refills
Disadvantages: only for the big company's

I have been refilling my own inkjet cartridges for a couple of years now and find it very economc in comparison to branded cartridges. Refill kits can be bought from many different suppliers on the internet, shop around though prices do vary quite a lot. Most kits include black, yellow, magenta and cyan inks, a pair of rubber gloves syringes and blunted needles. These days I buy my ink in 500ml bottles which works out even cheaper. How do you refill? ...

The actual filling point varies with different cartridge types. On my canon cartridges(BC13)there is an indent on the top that I use, it seems to have a self sealing property about it. Draw up the appropriate ...

Advantages: Buy one get one free
Disadvantages: Have to wait for Mr Postie

So you press the print button, the printer jumps into life and nothing happens, *&%^$££$ printers playing up again. This has happened to me a couple of times now, and on closer inspection I have found that the printer will not work because the machine has run out of INK. Don't pay over the odds, Refill instead

Advantages: Saves you a load of money
Disadvantages: Can be messy if your not careful

So there I was looking for a cartridge for my Lexmark Z13 and they were between £27 and £29, trust me to get a cheap printer where the cartridges cost more than the damn printer. But lo and behold I saw out of the corner of my I the "JR Universal Inkjet Refill Kit" for only £11.99, ok I thought I'll give it a go. On opening the pack things couldn't be easier fill the syringe with ink and injext into the printer cartridge, I did get a little on ...

The set comes with the three main colours in 25ml bottle I must have only used 2-3ml if that out of each bottle. After filling the cartridge and placing it back in the printer, the coolours are vibrant and on comparison are better than Lexmark's own cartridges. In my point of view don't by a new cartridge, unless the contacts ...

don't be ripped off

Advantages: prices, service, efficiency, quality
Disadvantages: none

I have only recently brought a PC and was really horrified at the way that we are all being ripped off for a small plastic box with a drop of ink in it. Why are they so expensive. Am i missing something. I found a web site for Touchstone www.printcartridge.net and from then on saved a fortune. They are recognised by Which? web trader. I placed an order a few days ago in the afternoon. This order was processed checked and despatched the same day ...

I use an Epson printer and they sell black cartridges for £3.98 inc vat and colour for £6.79 and they are also buy one get one free. So where else can you get a black cartridge for less than £1.99, and a colour at £3.39. Let me know. They also include postage and packaging ...

Hansol Refill Kit: Lexmark X75 x3 20ml

Advantages: Cheap refill, easy instructions, fast delivery
Disadvantages: Ink ran inside the printer!

After spending copious amounts of money on Lexmark ink cartridges over the last 3 years that i've owned my Lexmark X75 all in one printer, I finally discovered ink refill kits! So I ordered a £9.99 Hansol lexmark refill kit with up to 6 refills from Ink Cycle's online store. The ordering was quick and easy and with delivery included in the price, quite a bargain! After 2 days the parcel finally arrived and I set about using the syringes included ...
