Why did I do this???

Advantages: Why its bald!
Disadvantages: Too much info if youre a bloke!

Lucky me,I had a beauty voucher for my local salon for Christmas and was just coming to the end of it.I think I had just about tried every treatment that they had on offer, facials, massages,a very painful session of electrolysis for a small split vein on my face.I think that I would have rather had her use a Samurai Sword than a tiny needle.I have never been so near to rigamortis this side of the tunnel of light. Anyway,as some of you know I have ...
...Greeks to my pale, white, almost transparent,Anglo-English-Albino skin. So theres me thinking they arent going to want to see long swathes of hair flapping in the wind, trailing from my bikini bottoms. So I thought Ok,lets get it waxed. For some reason I thought a Brazilian wax would be the way to go.I am sitting here thinking of the reason why I chose to have this type of wax.I think I chose it so that there was definitely no hair to be seen wafting, and ...

Wear nice pants

Advantages: hassle free legs for weeks
Disadvantages: pain, expense

Going to get your legs waxed has to be up there in the embarrassing experiences list, right? Along with ‘first bra fitting’ or first time you buy contraception. It’s something that thousands, probably millions of people do, but you always feel like you are the only one who’s been stupid enough to do it, and EVERYONE else is laughing at you. Before you go you have to allow yourself to become a gorilla, refraining from hair ...
...slim, coiffured beauty therapist makes you strip down to your Marks and Spencers minis, the ones with the elastic going, and you have to spend nearly an hour looking like a chicken getting plucked, while your therapist strips every little follicle out of your skin, showing obvious displeasure at the flabby bits. That’s the generally perceived view anyway, but what is it really like? Before I headed to sunny Corfu on holiday, I decided to get ...

Hairy bums and lips

Advantages: Lasts longer then shaving
Disadvantages: Painful and expensive

WHY WAX? Basically it lasts longer than any other method as it rips hairs out at the root rather than just cutting them – up to 6 weeks depending upon your rate of regrowth. Shaving can involve some blood if you cut yourself and within a day or two stubble is noticeable. Using hair dissolving cream has not worked very well on me. The results can be uneven, the process is quite fiddly and the cream can smell quite strongly of ammonia. THE PROCESS ...
...beautician (or you, if you are very brave) smears some warm wax (often containing tea tree) on the affected part usually with a spatula and then presses a strip of special material on top of the wax. This strip of material is quickly ripped away from the skin against the direction of hair growth and (hopefully) all of your fuzz comes away with it. It is painful but quick. The problem is how many times it has to be done – the strip is only about ...

No pain no gain

Advantages: Hair free for over a week!
Disadvantages: The pain

The first thing that comes into most people's heads when they think of waxing is ouch that must hurt or if they have done a home kit done that done it once and never again. My attitude is, try it once and if you can not handle the pain at all well at least you can say you have tried. I have not done a home waxing kit as the thought of pulling my own hairs out sends shivers down my spine. The main reason behind this is that a professional has been ...
...the right angle and speed when pulling it off to decrease the pain. Also if it hurts when you do it yourself you don't want to stop half way and have a wax strip on your leg and there are certain places you will not be able to do at all on your own trust me on that one. So this review is going to be about getting wax from a salon. Prices can vary from salon to salon, by a few pounds for each treatment. You will also find that salons do a reduction ...

How to use hot candle wax in a sex or BDSM scene.

Advantages: Can be lots of fun!!!
Disadvantages: If not done safely, with the right candles, a trip to hospital could be in order.

WARNING. This opinion is NOT about waxing your legs. It IS about DROPPING HOT WAX ONTO YOUR PARTNER’S BODY as part of SEX/BDSM play. Therefore this opinion is NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED OR THOSE UNDER 16. Now the warning is over I will stop the annoying use of capitals for attention grabbing. UPDATE: I have added a section near the end on where you can buy candles which have been tested for wax play incase this op sparks you interest! Introduction ...
...wax onto your partner’s body) can be as important as the actual sensation of the hot wax in making the experience enjoyable. However as with all BDSM play, real world fear is not enjoyable. My aim in writing this opinion is to help you make up your own mind whether wax play is for you and if it is then how to do it safely so that the real world fear can be minimised. I am going to start off by telling you important safety factors, then a brief ...

Wax on .... Wax off

Advantages: Oh read the bloomin' opinion
Disadvantages: PAIN, ingrowing hairs

I always promised Trampus I would write an opinion on waxing, when I originally wrote this she was taking a break from Ciao, so she missed it, tut! As she is now back I have updated it especially, Sarah this one if for you honey.... Right, let's get started then. First rule of waxing, don't try it yourself. Yes, you may have just read about the most wonderful product, how the wax rolls on easily and smoothly, but don't be fooled. Waxing isn't easy ...
...If you try it at home you will end up looking like a hairy toffee apple, unable to remove the wax or hairs properly and your legs stuck to your knickers for the day. Find yourself a decent beautician, by word of mouth preferably and let them do the work for you. I have a girl who comes to my house, Claire. She has been with me for almost ten years now and we are actually very good friends, so I get a discount too, see I told you it was better. ...

SOFT AS A BABYS BUM

Advantages: Longer lasting smoothness, and takes no time to do
Disadvantages: There is an element of pain involved

I’m a great advocate of waxing certain parts of the body – for other areas your bog standard razor is just as effective. There various ways of waxing body parts – do it yourself kits available in shops such as Boots or Superdrug, or the professional waxing which is available from beauty therapists. The DIY kits generally cost below £10 and to be truthful you really would need to have a high pain tolerance if you decide to follow ...

After my shower and having exfoliated as l was told to do in the instructions, l applied the wax strip. I then tried to remove the wee bugger. Well OH MY GAWD – excruciating pain! My mother thought l had been involved in a horrific accident judging by my squeals of pain. In the ...

De-furring My Hairy Bits...

Advantages: Quick, easy, not too painful
Disadvantages: More expensive than disposable razors!

I think we've all seen those 'wax virgin' ads on TV? Well, that was me. I thought waxing would be too painful, especially as I have sensitive skin. But it's the Summer and my poor legs are crying out for fresh air and freedom so, as British society demands women have only hairless legs on show, I had to do something to get rid of my unsightly dark leg hair. I used to de-fur using Immac creams, but - let's be honest - it's a messy process and even ...
...and went through years of razor burn, bright red rashes and scary cuts. Although Gillette Venus helped alleviate the pain and harm, it still isn't perfect. So those convincing TV ads, a few friends recommending waxing and a free sample (URL below) from Veet convinced me to lose my status as a wax virgin. So how was it? Am I sitting here in agony? Read on… The free sample comes in the middle of a pink booklet, so don't throw it away as junk mail! ...

NOT FOR WIMPS

Advantages: QUICK, LONG LASTING RESULTS
Disadvantages: OUCH FACTOR, PRICE

This is a challenge set by the terrible trio Yummy87, Tracey_angel and Bigbaz. Should you like to be part of this circle of madness, enter at your own risk, throw caution to the wind and leave a message in any of the above Mad Hatters’ Guest Books. I have been set the task of writing an op on waxing (?) and was told I was lucky as some other unsuspecting Ciao members who have agreed to take part have had worst challenges than me. All I can say to ...
...reading this share the same debilitating problem of excessive hair growth on your body like that of Yummy87, (SORRY, Sara – just getting my own back!), there are many ways of defuzzing your fur coat, and waxing is one of them. Waxing can be done in the safety of your own home, but I have tried on a couple of occasions and have chickened out after each attempt, resulting in having to shave the rest off. I’ve watched various adverts on the telly promising ...

I have never laughed and cried so much

Advantages: lasts for several weeks
Disadvantages: The pain, oh, the pain

I had always been a faithful shaver, every two or three days trying to do acrobatics in the shower to get those ever important hairy bits smooth. Until that is a few months ago. A mad moment of inspiration lead me to the shelves of the chemist, mulling over all the different ways of hair removal. Wax, razors, sugar, creams, mits, Looks like sandpaper to me. Eventually, I decided to pluck up the courage and treat myself to a home waxing, using Immac ...
...kind of treat, but I will give it a whirl. However, I couldn't do it on my own, I had to enlist the help of my ever loving boyfriend. Let me set the scene, I plied him with a lovely meal and one of his favourite Jack Daniels. Then, after the meal, instead of curling up with him on the settee, I appeared with a towel slung over the shoulder and the kit in hand, yours truly, in skimpies. He thought his luck was in, until I hurried towards the microwave ...

You can wax off

Advantages: er I'm trying to think of one honest
Disadvantages: pain pain pain and pain

Having temporalily taken leave of my senses I found myself in the beauty salon at my gym booking an appointment not for a pampering facial or massage but no a leg waxing -a full leg wax to boot. As I casualy strolled out I did start to have doubt's but pushed them to one side. I recalled the evening where I had to coax Assethound back into the room as I informed her she couldn't spend the rest of her life with a lump of wax and a sticky plaster on ...

One questionaire later and I was sat on a bed waiting for the torture to begin.. I noticed how ...

****AS SOON AS CIAO! HAVE MADE A NEW CATEGORY FOR THIS OP, I SHALL MOVE IT TO THERE. HOPEFULLY JUST A COUPLE OF DAYS.*** (There is still no luck with getting a 'Sugaring' category for this - so I apologise for putting it under this one :o/ ) This op is not about waxing, but the 100% NATURAL alternative ~ SUGARING. Great removal method!

Advantages: Hair grows back soften and thinner
Disadvantages: Might be painful!

Waxing is most undoubtedly my favorite hair removal method. I have had a few bad experiences in the past where poor quality wax only left gooey mess on my body, but I still remain completely baffled by the baby smooth skin left behind after a high-quality waxing session. Waxing has in face been used since centuries when women used to melt sugar with lemon juice and apply it to remove body hair. I believe that this hair removal method is still used ...
...of wax- hot and cold. In addition, there are waxes for various areas of the body. Certain waxes are specifically intended for bikini and/or facial hair due to the highly sensitive and delicate skin in these regions. I usually buy a waxing kit and do my own waxing at home, but I would certainly recommend you to go to a parlor if it is the first time that you are waxing. While waxing can be quite a daunting experience at first, you have to bear in ...
