    I posted this review on Dooyoo in the Autumn of this year, particularly as I was of the opinion that those of you who like to be organised would be starting to plan Christmas. I emailed Ciao a couple of days ago as I couldn’t find an appropriate category and they kindly sent me a link to enable me to advise you of some of my ideas for Christmas presents; many of which cost you very little or no money.     £2 Treasures for Christmas - you don't have to spend a fortune As Christmas is such an expensive time, I thought I would share a family tradition begun by a member of my husband’s family some years ago. Because she was a young woman working very hard to make a living, and starting a family of her own, she suggested that we should exchange gifts that year with a price ceiling for each of £2.     Men are slow to learn, when I say they slow to learn, the chances are the gift that men get their wives or girlfriends often is (1) in the wrong colour, (2) from the wrong shop, (3) or for their own enjoyment. Naturally, I've done wrong with all three rather spectacularly. Once, I thought it was a lovely idea to purchase a heart shaped locket and put a mug-shot of me in it. It went down like a lead balloon. Another attempt of wanting to please was purchasing a 'Wonderbra' to emphasize a 'B Cup'. What a palaver!     Christmas and Valentines Day break up most relationships, expectation of romance high and so you better get the present right guys! January is the number one month for divorces with 17% of all sited in the first three weeks of the year and snoring, believe it or not, the third highest reason sited to dump their men behind infidelity and money. So if you get the present wrong this December best put a peg on your nose guys.     It is no secret that men are notoriously difficult to purchase gifts for. My husband is a case in point; if he wants something, he has a tendency to buy it there and then, leaving nothing left at gift time. But, there is still hope - I have bought a few things over the years that have gone down well. For The Rock Genius in the Making I won wife of the year award last year when I bought hubby an electronic drum kit.     I have always found it difficult to choose a gift for my Husband, after much deliberating, I usually mange to hit the nail on the head, but just occasionally I get it wrong. What follows is a list of my triumphs and mishaps. I hope it helps. Experience has taught me that all men are just big boys, and as such they still love gadgets and toys. One of my most successful purchases recently was a Bigtrak Junior (£15.00 amazon).     Gifts for children - this subject is pretty much limitless. My two sons are now grown but I still have nieces and cousins to buy for. Personally I do not like having too much genger specific toys - and when my boys were younger they enjoyed the tea sets and pretend cooking as much as the next child. I have listed the general different categories that I can think of - but of course these will vary depending on the age and interests of the child.
