You may think it weird, me, writing a review on healthy eating, after i'm known all to well for my love of all things sweet. Over the past couple of months however I have become a whole lot more aware of the products out there, their nutritional values, and the goodness and damages they do to your body. I feel really strongly about keeping everybody healthy, and as obesity and eating disorders (damn:() are becoming a whole big problem, I think its ... ...posting my review on anorexia and my experience a couple of weeks back, I thought it would be good to do a little follow up review with a guide to healthy eating. Healthy eating along with plenty of regular, varied exercize results in a healthy body and slashes chances of developing health problems hugely.

I've been pretty lucky growing up, I wasn't allergic to too many things. Pepsi and Sunkist (one of the additives) and courgettes (my throat swells up) and have been pretty healthy. But since starting to live on my own my health has been a complete rollercoaster. I've been quite thin (and looked ill) to not being able to control weight gain, stomach cramps, persistent colds, headaches, mood swings and lots of other not exactly pleasant symptoms.
... ...to do something about it. The headaches were getting worse and I was so lethargic. I went and spoke to my GP and after ruling out other things he decided my diet was to blame and that I could have intolerances to certain foods. He also suggested that my body just couldn't handle a lot of processed foods. He advised I see a nutritionalist and that I go back and see him in a month.
After talking to the nutritionalist, she worked out a detox programme ...

==Carbohydrates (carbs) are a problem, or are they?== Beans like peas are legumes belonging to the plant family Fabaceae. Everyone is familiar with a tin of baked beans, often used as a standby for a snack meal when you can't be bothered to cook a proper meal or want to rustle up something quickly. It’s amazingly sad how 99.9% of people are unhappy with who they are, whether physically or mentally, and yet the pressure to judge people by their looks has never been greater. Renée Zellweger was labelled ‘fat’ when she bulked up her tiny frame to a size twelve, to play Bridget Jones. How a size 12 be labelled ‘fat’ or overweight is beyond most of us. Compared to her figure now, she looked gorgeous. She currently has no tits, and you can see every ... ...to fans.

Advantages: Very easy and Simple to Follow Disadvantages: There will be less of me!
It's that time of year again when most people decide to make a change in their lives. It may be giving up smoking, or just cutting down, or perhaps a change in diet.
Like most people I always start of the year so well, and then by the end of January am really struggling and losing hope. But this year things will be different. I know it is easier to say that since today is only January 2nd but you see I have no choice as such.
It all started a few ... ...kept rising. I was also continuously ill. So I was sent for blood tests. Anyway, to cut a very long story short it turned out my blood pressure was fine, in fact very good for my age; it was simply my doctor using the wrong sized cuff. The test results showed my Cholesterol level was also fine but the results did indicate other concerns. Concerns that I already knew about but having moved Doctor and my notes not being read by my new one, were yet ...

Advantages: Omega 3 really is good for you, but...... Disadvantages: But it's a little more complicated than that.
I wrote this article because from childhood I was encouraged to eat lots of fish, particularly oily fish, because it was good for me. My granny swore that fish would also make me clever. Today we are told that oily fish contains omega 3 which is good for us. I decided to do some delving of my own and here is what I've found.
OMEGA 3 HAS ARRIVED
A wide range of products such as eggs, breads, fruit juices, margarines and spreads and kids' drinks; ... ...shelves in recent times. They are often accompanied by extravagant claims; 'The nation's children are in need of an omega 3 boost,' says one. 'Helping brains, helping hearts' claims another. 'Eating long-chain omega 3s like those found in salmon may protect you from sunburn', another even suggests. I read recently that a producer advertising milk with added omega 3 had been reprimanded for giving the impression it can help increase children's intelligence. ...

Advantages: You can have a great body! Disadvantages: Takes a while to get used to.
As you may know if you have read my profile, I am a singer, and part of my job is to look good!! Unfortunately this means I have to exercise a lot and watch my weight, but one thing I have learned over the past few years is that it really isn’t that hard to stick to a healthy diet.
Remember this.
Healthy food does not necessarily mean horrible food. You don’t have to spend your whole life munching on carrots and lettuce!! OK, it means ... ...eat loads of nice things. You just have to be a little more selective. If you want to lose weight, or even just eat healthily, it is so much easier to stick to a healthy diet if you are eating food you actually like.
This is the kind of food I eat to maintain a healthy weight.
In the mornings, fruit and fibre with skimmed milk or just a banana. Fruit and Fibre is actually quite delicious. It is quite high in calories so I don’t eat a lot, ...

Let me introduce you to Michael. He is my 11 year old son who is Autistic. For those of you unfamiliar to either my son or to Autistic children, these very special children whom may be anywhere on the Autistic spectrum (it is a very broad spectrum) often have hyperactivity, behavioral , learning and whole host of other problems.

Dietary control is often (although not always) a successful way to “calm” or “control” the behavioral and hyperactivity issues. This can also be successful for those who are just hyperactive. There are no guarantees that changing the diet will help, but with a sensible approach there is often nothing to lose by trying.
After much research on the internet with regards to Autism I came across many articles ...

Advantages: Weight loss, More energy and clearer skin Disadvantages: You may feel tired at first as your system removes the toxins fromyour body
If you are planning a detoxification programme, you should choose a time when you will be able to take plenty of rest and some light exercise. You also need to stock up with all the right foods beforehand.
There are no half measures once you start. You should make up your mind to cut out as much as possible, all foods containing caffeine, dairy produce, additives, wheat, red meat, fat and refined sugar.
'What can I eat?' I hear you ask. The answer ... ...protein and potatoes and rice as carbohydrates. Brown rice is particularly cleansing to the intestines so eat plenty each day. Other cleansing foods are garlic, grapes (preferably black, seeded) and grapefruit. Raw carrots and celery are good to nibble and ginger is very beneficial to the digestion. You can snack on dried fruit too - apricots, figs, prunes or raisins etc. You can also use a little honey, olive oil and cider vinegar for dressing salads ...

I've just started a new job and a lot of people have commented on how healthily I eat, so I thought maybe I should share my eating habits and my small amount of knowledge on the subject with you guys.
I think the most important word when it comes to discussing healthy eating and nutrition is definitely moderation. I had a problem with my eating habits for a while now, and I'll never be one of those people who can eat without checking the calorie content first, but I think I've settled down now and I'm not as bad as I used to be, with a lot more experience!
I hope you find this advice on healthy eating and losing weight useful, but do keep in mind my advice is based from personal experience, and is NOT professional. These are my nine tips, and I think if you ... ...1) Forget crash dieting. It's not good for you at all, for a variety of reasons, and if you want to lose weight, then do it in a sensible way rather than starving yourself for a day or two so you can squeeze into that dress. It screws up your metabolism, so in the long-run, you'll find it harder to shift those extra pounds.
2) Drink lots of water. We all know that water helps skin, hair and nails, but how many of us actually drink the recommend ...

Advantages: the sure fire way to live a long prosperous life as well as losing weight, you'll realise how addictive processed treats like chocolate and crisps are Disadvantages: its so very hard to change your eating habits for the better.
First thing’s first. I want to make one very important point very clear. Healthy eating does not involve diets. Diets are dead, gone. They are not healthy so they are not good for you. They restrict your food intake, and you may end up cutting out important parts of your diet. On the other hand, healthy eating is very good for you. It ensures you eat the foods that contain everything you need to stay healthy – vitamins and minerals, and ... ...bad, bad things such as copious amounts of saturated fats and cholesterol. So the next time you think you need to lose weight, or the next time you ponder going on a diet, think about your lifestyle. If you made well informed, long term changes to your eating habits then you would never have to worry about dieting or bad health again. So what is there to this healthy eating lark?
Well, you need to become informed. You need to know what there is ...

I've been overweight all my life. I've been on every diet that is going with varying success rates. This leaves me feeling qualified to give advice on dieting, despite my total lack of medical qualifications. I have tried to back up my opinion wherever possible using resources to be found on the internet, which I will list at the bottom. This opinion gives you my perspective on dieting.
~~~~ Three Meals A Day ~~~~ Every diet you ever look at will ... ...is a terrible idea as it makes your body feel it is being "starved" and it then conserves fat to use as energy. Now I like a lot of people don't have breakfast, there isn't time for it in my daily routine. Advantages: Healthy eating makes you feel better Disadvantages: I get too tempted by all the wrong things!
I will start by saying, for anyone reading this who actually knows me, that I know all the theory but find it difficult to put into practice – OK?
I have battled with my weight ever since I can remember constantly trying to loose a bit here and there but never keeping it off even when I do manage to loose some. The only time I really lost weight and got down to an acceptable level for my height was when I went to a slimming class. The one ... ...choice.
I found the community atmosphere useful and the idea of competition with others always managed to spur me on to trying just a little bit harder. The weekly classes also included a talk by the organiser who gave us some really good tips. The only disadvantage of course is the fact that you have to pay for this sort of thing.
For me, dieting and healthy eating have to be one and the same thing. I am sick of seeing these fad diets where you’re ...
