...bit and so bought a Memorex 52x CD-ROM. Costing only £35 from Staples it looked good value. Unfortunately it wasn’t.
It worked intermittently at first but after about a week stopped working completely. It was at this stage that I realised firstly how useless the instructions were with the CD-ROM. At best these were ambiguous and at worst completely useless. As it was only meant to work as a plug-and-play device there were no boot disks either.
