MB Stealerships, rusty doors.

Our 2nd MB, we bought this one last year after an extensive search for the right one. C220cdi stationwagons are difficult to find and a bit pricey but worth the effort. Our 1999 Classic is in dark blue, which glows denim blue in the sun and is a very forgiving colour. We have an optional beige...

When I purchased the Merc back in late summer I did a 200 mile round trip as the spec I was looking for at the right price could not be found in my town.I stumbled upon an Avantgarde 2001 y plate model with full stamped history at 80,000 miles on the clock and with the blue paintwork it was...

When i first saw the new C-class i really disliked it, the excentric curves and odd lights were hard to accept. However the more i saw it the more i liked it, and couldn't imagine liking the previous model's squared off corners and box-shaped chassis. The general exterior appearence of the c...

As a driver of the C220 CDI Sport Auto (08) model I have to openly admit that this vehicle surpasses any of its rivals. As an employee of a fleet management company I have the benefit of being able to test drive most prestige vehicles and where the BMW 320 and Audi A4 finish the C220 CDI Sport is...

On recently becoming the proud owner of a new 54 plate Merc C220 CDi. I can firmly say that I have not been disappointed. The new model Mercedes has some subtle tweaks and improvements from the earlier model and delivers a very comfortable ride. The diesel engine is suprisingly quiet and refined...

My first Mercedes and I definently would not buy another make of car. From entering the showroom to driving away in my new car, the experience was very feel good. I purchased the car in November 2002 and since then it has been nothing but a pleasure to drive. Fuel consumption is amazing given the...

Good solid reliable car with high residual value

dearer to buy than some others

Since owning a Mercedes C Class I have become most impressed by its high quality, economy and reliability. The only downside that I have found is that servicing through the Mercedes dealership is expensive and not necessarily effective or appropriate, but perhaps necessary to ensure that the car...

Front suspension and rust on older models.

I bought my first Mercedes in 1963 from the agents in Dortmund and have used various models since then. The current car is a 2001 E220 CDi Avantgarde which had only gone 4200 miles when I got it three years later, since when another 183000 miles has been added. As a comfortable, spacious and...

Satisfactory

published 21/01/2008

Test Drive. Like everyone else I was attracted by the glamour of the badge. I've owned several BM's and was expecting more of the same. However I was disappointed. Pro's - Looks, economical and gutsy performance. Cons' -noisy even for a diesel. Rock hard seats I was unable to get comfortable and I disliked the low rent interior. Conclusion. Way over hyped - buy another make. Dealer costs over the top too.
