Advantages: SMOOTH RIDE, HANDLES WELL , PRESTIGE BADGE Disadvantages: NIGGLES CAN BE EXPENSIVE ,BUY THE FACELIFT MODEL
...Taxi is fast becoming a Mercedes diesel.!!
The car never surprised me on speed off the mark but from 70 onward it did seem too fly with ease.Once I had started the engine from cold and woke the street up with the "clack-clack" it did please me ,as when warmed up and at normal Motorway speeds it went along qiutely without having to have the radio / cd up too loud. The finish of these vehicles is very good with soft plastics and Leather being used ... ...however I would have another Mercedes but would go for the late 2004 facelift model as by then the overall interior look had got better and the qaulity in build had returned. If you are looking for a family vehicle with a Prestige badge the you will not go far wrong with a C-class BUT make sure you stay on top of the services and overall upkeep of the car . This can be expensive to do but well worth doing in the long run. ...

Our 2nd MB, we bought this one last year after an extensive search for the right one. C220cdi stationwagons are difficult to find and a bit pricey but worth the effort.
Our 1999 Classic is in dark blue, which glows denim blue in the sun and is a very forgiving colour. We have an optional beige interior with beige hide upholstery and 5 speed auto gearbox, which is a perfect match for the torquey diesel engine.
Overall, we are delighted with the ... ...( this is my 22nd car!) and the great performance and economy (around 40mpg) are an unexpected bonus. Other features which we appreciate include the air-con and cruise control.
Downsides? Unfortunately yes.
1) I have not come across a decent MB dealer yet and have ended up in dispute with 2. Why MB head office doesn't crack down on them I don't understand, they must lose MB many customers. The saving grace is that there are a growing number of ...

...spare parts cost. Unfortunately spare mercedes parts are not cheap and the expertise and time required to fit them really burns a hole in your pocket! However Mercedes pride themselfs on their reliability and it would be a rare occation for a Mercedes to produce a fault within the first 8 years. Overall i do believe the C220 cdi is good value for money in both the long and short term.
In general i feel that the excellent fuel economy value and price ...

Advantages: All the comfort of a Mercedes with the performance and control of top of the range exec Disadvantages: Every features costs you money..if you have to pay BIK tax then you will be hurt by the CO2 levels
As a driver of the C220 CDI Sport Auto (08) model I have to openly admit that this vehicle surpasses any of its rivals. As an employee of a fleet management company I have the benefit of being able to test drive most prestige vehicles and where the BMW 320 and Audi A4 finish the C220 CDI Sport is just beginning!
Where to start... well from a purely astethic point of view the C-Class is a joy to behold. With a high specification sports body kit and ... ...only ideal for executive drivers but is also a stylish vehicle which appeals to almost any driver.
Whilst the appearance of the vehicle is fantastic the drive is what really had me. Fast, reliable, and comfortable are just a few words to describe the C220 CDI Sport, but in addition to this the vehicle is an animal. When compared wiht the BMW 320 equivalent the handling is superior. When you take a corner at a higher speed than you should have done ...

...disappointed.
The new model Mercedes has some subtle tweaks and improvements from the earlier model and delivers a very comfortable ride. The diesel engine is suprisingly quiet and refined and has plenty of power for both motorway and town driving.
I drive a minimum 300 miles per week, and have found the level of comfort to be greater than that of the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4's. The level of specification is also higher with more extra's as standard.
... ...the sport pack. It offers in my opinion exceptional value for money and a whole host of extra's.
For company Car drivers the C220 CDi has the benefit of being EU4 compliant and so will collect the bare minimum in co. car tax due its low emissions. You will also be laughing with the favourable 38 - 40 MPG that the car will average.
Avoid manual gearbox. The car will lose too much value at resale. ...

Advantages: Looks, Ride, Handling and Fuel Consumtion Disadvantages: None
My first Mercedes and I definently would not buy another make of car. From entering the showroom to driving away in my new car, the experience was very feel good. I purchased the car in November 2002 and since then it has been nothing but a pleasure to drive. Fuel consumption is amazing given the weight of the car and the ride and handling are excellent. The power is always there when you need it and the diesel engine is ultra quiet. There have been ...

Advantages: Good solid reliable car with high residual value Disadvantages: dearer to buy than some others
Since owning a Mercedes C Class I have become most impressed by its high quality, economy and reliability. The only downside that I have found is that servicing through the Mercedes dealership is expensive and not necessarily effective or appropriate, but perhaps necessary to ensure that the car retains a valuable 'full service history'.
I have used my 'C' Class for 3 years having bought second hand at 7,000 miles. Now the mileage is approaching ... ...Other than routine tyre replacement the car has had 2 glow plugs replaced on separate occasions and this can be seen as routine. As far as I am concerned the replacement of rear brake disc pads and discs during a routine service with no prior warning of failure and without sight of the warn parts was 'iffy' - particularly in that the front disc pads were still in good shape 5000 miles later. (The manual indicates that brake wear indicators are fitted. ...

Advantages: Runs very smoothly for a diesel car and i love the automatic gear box! Disadvantages: Fake leather interior lets it down! Why can't Mercedes use soft real leather like Audi or Saab?
...The only thing I would change is the interior. Its black anthracite, which is basically just fake leather! Please please Mr. Mercedes think about changing to a nice soft leather interior like Saab or Audi. This would make a great car even better! ...

Hello folks,
i have driven this car and my opinion is that you couldt better buy a volgwagen passat tdi
this car (mercedes) is very comfort but everything go's to easy for driving it, like the sound of the engine you can't hear it, if you dont want to hear your engine then you couldt better buy a electric car.
the volkswagen is not like that when you look at the car its a diverent kind of car but its fast its a diesel and its much bigger,
for ... ...drive in, it's just like you are flying with it with a star at the front of youre car
my end opinion is also BUY A VOLKSWAGEN.
and if you like the outside from the mercedes,
you just have to do with the mercedes, volkswagen doesn't produce this kind of car. ...
