Mercedes ML 270 CDI

...I did go on the Mercedes off road day, close to Maidenhead and took 5ft Sherry (my wife, not a large bottle of drink!) with me and she excelled getting the big lump up and down gorges and dips. She also drove the car well. The ML does hold its own off road but the tyres need changing to accommodate this. I will go on about this a bit later. ...are new and how good Mercedes are meant to be I can honestly say I would never buy one. Overall all I can say about this car is its expensive to look after, doesn't handle, ride or drive well, isn't really that comfy and wobbles like a blamonge! (And just for the people wondering what I'm comparing it too. At work I use BMW X5's, Land Rovers, Vauxhall Vectra VXR's, Mondeo St220's and Volvo V60R's) ...

...you are doing well - Mercedes will fix anything under (the transferable) warranty, just be cool and concise about the problem, they will help......this way, you can almost be assured of having a good buy, even if the trading garage or private seller don't offer a warranty. We have had this car for 3 months, previously owning a Citroen Picasso, and purchased it because we needed the extra seats with the 7-seater option. We have three small children (all under 7) and, so far, I am in love with it. Yes, it is very thirsty on fuel and the servicing costs are somewhat of a shock, but it is worth it. There is not much leg room when all the 7 seats are used but the third row are more than OK for the kids or a small adult. ...
...up the boot space is still really big. I am a little bit dissappointed about the luxuriousness of the interior, especially the dashboard. I expected to have a better stereo with maybe controls on the steering wheel and it does look a little bit dated for its year of manufacture. ...I couldn't fault the Mercedes dealership, they were helpful and the service I recieved was second to none. The ML 270 cdi is a dream to drive, it handles well , rolls round corners and is surprisingly nippy for such a big heavy diesel car, one of the main issues for me having 4 children is safety, and with 8 air bags and numerous other safety features this car feels like a tank. Mercedes seem to have thought of everything, heated seats, mirrors ...
...settings at the touch of a button, Automatic headlights that turn themselves on and off, lockable security box for your valubles, first aid box the list goes on and on so I won't bore you, go and test drive it and see what you think, you won't be dissapointed! As Mercedes are not going to introduce the post 2005- model ML in a 7 seater version there is likely to be good demand for the 2002-2005 7 seater model with a premium of up to £2000 as it would cost £2500 to retro fit 7 seat option and the conversion does not have rear A/C and opening quarter light windows in the rear so a factory family pack is worth the extra even if you don't need it as it when you go to sell it'll sell ...

i have had to give up my xj6 sport as my disabled wife can no longer fold herself low enough to get in, so we needed something bigger than her zafira motability car. we have bought a 2003 ml 270 cdi 7 seater from an independent jaguar dealer in sussex wow!! a great looking car in dark blue, not a mark on it, lovely to drive, has only done 53K, full service history. our german shephard can climb in easily although she prefers the comfortable back ...

I have recently bought my Mercedes ML 270 Cdi. on a 52 plate after trawling the market place for a BMW X5. My missus spotted this machine and we havent looked back. If your looking for a car which you can take anywhere you go then it must be the ML 270. It great to drive and very comfortable for every body in the car. This is a nice car. It\'s a Mercedes- it\'s a 4X4. It\'s shiny. Being an automatic, the handling is much easier and driving is almost a relaxing experience in this motor. It has heated seats, cupholders and every other mod con imaginable. That's where it ends. Visibilty out of the vehicle is limited compared to other models and other cars. Unless you're very used to driving a 4x4, this can make manouveres extremely difficult, almost like guesswork ...
...be lacking are the sensors which beep when you get too close to something. There's no chance you can park in a tight spot with this motor without it becoming a hazard.
