Advantages: Exceptionally close, comfortable shaves. Replacement blades very inexpensive. Disadvantages: There is a learning curve, your first shave will not be perfect.
...went ahead and bought the Merkur Futur. This razor is incredibly well designed and engineered. Although the weight takes some getting used to, this razor will produce shaves of excellent quality and comfort, totally unrivaled by the more modern multiblade approach of shaving. I would recommend switching the Mekur blades for another make, and investing in good a good quality shaving brush. You should also try some traditional shaving soaps and creams ...
