Hideo Kojima's signature series return with the last mission of one of history's greatest action heroes, Solid Snake. Advantages Great story, excellent mix of stealth and action, breathtaking graphics and very good sound.
Disadvantages Story can be fairly complicated, too many cutscenes.

It’s been thirteen years since the first Metal Gear Solid game came out on the first PlayStation, and the developers haven’t been lazy since. Three other main games have been released, plus two PSP titles, a spin-off series and a remake. Metal gear Solid 4 is the final chapter in the story line of solid snake. The story line of the game carries straight on from that of Metal Gear Solid 2. Since the end of Metal gear solid (will now on be referred to as MGS) 2, the world has changed. Story The storyline to this game is extremely complex; it follows on from the previous metal gear solid games and is a direct sequel to MGS2. I'll state now, you don't need to have played the previous games to be able to play and understand this one, I'd only ever played MGS2 before this and that was years ago. However, I recommend that you read up on the internet on the storyline, even if you just use Wikipedia, as it is complex and might confuse you. Advantages Breathtaking cinematics, superb gameplay, Kojima at his best.
Disadvantages Game can be completed in under 10 hours, Metal Gear Online is a disappointment.

Firstly, im going to make clear to those of you who dont know - 'Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots' (MGS4) actually comes with an additional game 'Metal Gear Online' (MGO) included. There are so many reviews of the main MGS4 game here already that im going to talk more about the lesser emphasised MGO. Not many reviews point out this aspect of the game so im going to give you a little insight into it. Review of Metal Gear Solid 4 Being a huge fan of the Metal Gear series, I try to write without bias. First of all I'll admit that I was slightly worried when the premise of playing as Old Snake was announced. I was also disappointed by the idea that the environment would be an open warzone, first stated in the previews. However, being the fan I am I bought it on release day with my friend who is also an avid Metal Gear fan (possibly moreso than me). (No spoilers) Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is the long awaited sequel to the Metal Gear Solid franchise. It wraps up the story of who the patriots are and how Solid Snake will live his life. With so much overuse of terms like 'stunning', 'superb', 'awesome' etc my mind, like most, has become dull to describing something as utterly and literally magnificent as this game is. Easily my favourite series of all time, Solid Snake's last outing was much lauded. It delivers times a thousand. I got it the day it was released and, despite promising myself that i would play it in small pieces so i could do alot of university work as well, this promise was thrown immediately out the window.
