Advantages: Easy way to learn a language without books!!!
Disadvantages: The price (unless you're lucky)

...it would be difficult but Michel has taught me that it is not so different to English in many ways - for instance he teaches that there are over 1000 words ending in 'tion' in English and the vast majority of these end in 'cion' in Spanish and have the same meaning!! Disadvantages: Takes much more than 8 hours

...months ago when i saw Michel Thomas' beginner course to Spanish and thought i'd give it a go. About 18 hours learning time later and i completely understand most Spanish and can speak it quite well myself at a beginner level. Es tomare alargado hora pero beneficio es de ultimo (It took a long time but i got it at last).
