...they understood what buying from Microdirect can mean. I bought the parts (900 pounds) to build a new system from Microdirect approx 15 months ago. All was fine until 2 months ago when the Antec psu failed (just out of its 12 month Microdirect "guarantee"). I contacted Microdirect who told me to return it to them which I duly did. The person on the desk said it would be replaced in 3-4 weeks as it had a 3 year manufacturer`s warranty.
After 3 weeks ... ...when it might return.
You need to be aware that whilst Microdirect are VERY helpful when you are spending money with them, after that you are on your own - they couldn't care less.
PS I also tried to find out via Antec themselves but again got nowhere ...

...I received an email from Microdirect which stated that "We will arrange for a manual and the difference to be processed ".
Despite three further emails from me (I received an automated reply to one of them) Microdirect have so far failed to keep their promises.
The card works fine but I do not know what functionality I am missing out on because I don't have the manual.
So, for me, not a good experience. I'll not be adding them to my favourites! ...

At 17:15 I placed an order for this item with a premium pre 10:30am delivery. I then called sales who confirmed that payment had been authorised and that the item would be shipped. The agent confirmed all of this with a sales manager.

This incident has caused me some serious inconvenience and I have been forced to use an alternative supplier. Microdirect have failed to identify and rectify these failures in their systems and processes. I will not attempt to purchase from Microdirect again. ...

Micro direct are OK if you buy something and it works and it continues to work. They are cheap and the postage is reasonable.
HOWEVER - their after customer service support is the worst I have ever had to deal with. Trying to get through to speak to someone on the phone is nearly impossible, I have spent hours on hold on the phone.
Refunds do not get processed on time, which means further correspondence with them. Worst of all, is if you try and ...

Quick review of Microdirect
I bought a freeview box and it never worked so I paid to have it sent back in early september for a refund. 14 working days later no refund only to be told it was sent to the wrong account?. 14 working days later again and still no money. 5 working days from now apparently...I won't hold my breath.
I can't comment on how good the repair process is( not too good by the look of other reviews) but the refund process(for me) was appalling and for this reason I will NEVER use them again and have told friends about the problem....Good luck if you do decide to buy something from them. ...

Quick review of Microdirect
3 year warranty on a 7900GT and have proof from ASUS. Microdirect refuse to take it back saying its only 2 years.
I will never deal weith this company again and am currently looking to take them to small claims for the price of the gfx card.

Yeah Good Prices but that where it ends, once your item goes faulty then don't expect any service.
Took 3 months for my Shuttle to be sent back to me and it still i had the same fault and damage coursed to the front of it.
So received it back in a worse condition than when i sent it off.
Called there phone number asking to speak to manager and was told that manager was unavailable and was promised a call back 6 times and never did.
So Great yeah ...

I bought a barebones PC (case and motherboard) this was a 40th birthday present that I bought with the money I was given.
The PC was fine until the very beginning of May when it randomly stop working with no output for the monitor. I requested the machine be returned to Micro Direct under the guarantee and was told if their engineer could not find the fault , the machine would have to be sent back to the manufactures in Korea and it ... ...told that indeed the machine did have faults and that I would now have to wait 6 to 8 weeks for the machine to be repaired. After the full 8 weeks I had not heard a thing. Now I phone their customer service and was assured that the PC would now be replaced by the manufactures and to be patient. DISADVANTAGE: BAD Customer services. BE SURE TO CHECK THAT ALL ITEMS RECEIVED before signing no matter how impatiant delivery person is!
My last order from Microdirect arrived with one item missing - contacted Customer services and was told it would be looked into and someone would get back to me...no ... ...takes an average of twenty min plus before calls are answered...today I was finally informed (by Mr Javed Customer services Manager) that there was nothing MD was willing to do because there had apparently been no discrepency in their stock levels - can not help wondering whyit took 3 months to come up with this answer! Advantages: Low prices, quick delivery, acceptable customer service. Disadvantages: Refurbished products may have a higher fault probability, returns process can be a little slow.
I ordered a 26" Flat screen TV from Micro Direct, before having read all these so-called 'horror stories' about how terrible they were. The price was brilliant, and the delivery time was very good- if interrupted a little due to a bank holiday weekend, although that was beyond Micro Direct's control. So in theory, everything to that point had gone brilliantly. However unfortunately, the TV began to have technical faults after 20 days of purchase, ... ...then that I found these horror stories of Micro Direct's 'near-criminal' returns policy that 'deprived you of your basic rights'. At reading these, I began to fear for the worse.
After e-mailing them with details of the fault, my case was accepted and I was given an RMA number to return the faulty TV. I was a bit disappointed to discover I had to cover the return expenses (which cost me £15), but still. A week later (probably my fault for choosing ...

After 30 working days I got from them replacement item. Different item! Cheaper item! Worse item! I recently bought a complete Netgear wireless networking setup from Microdirect. The software for the adapters doesn't work, crashing one PC, breaking the audio on one and just disconnecting from the network on the third.
Microdirect are calling this a 'compatibility' problem and refusing to give a refund (even with products boxed back up in as-new condition)
I see their returns process is fairly universally despised. I am now going to the small claims court to recover my money and still they will not budge. ...

...returned both of them and Microdirect were brilliant. As soon as they received them they let me know and confirmed that one stick was faulty. A new replacement arrived in two days and all went fine. I am still using this same memory after two years of hard use and no problems.
Faults with memory modules are down to manufacturers and not Microdirect. All the modules are securely packed by the manufacturer, in my case Corsair, so it's by no way the ... ...them explaining the problems and Microdirect will do all they can to rectify the problem. I can't comment on issues regarding customer relations from other people but, I had no problems at all with regard to comminications with them.
There are some poor on line stores on the net and as far as I'm concerned Microdirect is not one of them, problems do happen as with all things, just be patient and I'm sure all will go smoothly. I will continue to ...
