    Advantages Advantages faster, free download and support, suggests pages to you, corrects incompatible pages

    Disadvantages Disadvantages getting used to changes in layout, and random crashing.

    I have always been a Windows user, and my browser of choice has always been internet explorer as I find it easy and intuitive to navigate and do what I want with my computer. I am a high use internet user, on for hours every day, so I like my browser to help make my time more efficient with the ability to have lots of pages open at once with no effect to the speed of my experience. I was using internet explorer 8 alongside Windows 7, when I was prompted around 8 weeks ago to upgrade to IE9.     Advantages Advantages The lighter blue logo is nice, quite fast to use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Bit boring, not as fun as other browsers

    At work I’m stuck using Internet Explorer 7 (some terminals are actually using the archaic version 6, which I think was Microsoft’s last version that was cross compatible with the typewriter). At home I have the swish Firefox 5.0. Ironically for many years the only use I’ve found for Internet Explorer (IE) is its ability to download a better browser. But I do love new technology. Though I’m a bit too cautious to try our beta versions (the ones with bugs in before they release the stable version) of browsers I do love to play around when they are officially released.     Advantages Advantages An all round speedier, and easier, performance.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Changes are initially off putting, but like anything new, you soon get used to it.

    Internet Explorer 9 When it comes to things I own, I’m a rather fickle kind of person. I have to have the best that I can afford, and things regularly get replaced as a newer version comes out. To my friends and family I am affectionately known as gadget woman – I love technology and embrace it wholeheartedly.     Advantages Advantages Simple, modern looking, things are grouped together, full screen look.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Their obsession with Bing! Can be laggy, bookmarks not as easy to use, no google search bar

    Though I am a Mozilla Firefox fan and always use Firefox nowadays, there was a time, back when we brought our first computer (an exciting day!) that we were Internet Explorer users. Though soon enough, we switched to Firefox as it was definitely less laggy and just much easier to use. My whole family found Explorer to be too crowded and confusing, and so we opted for the simpler Firefox. However, I knew that Microsoft had worked hard and had really tried with Internet Explorer 9.     Advantages Advantages Fast, efficient and innovative.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Tends to make pc's crash.

    For months I have been cursing IE9, blaming it for every stutter, burp and crash. While it may not be totally responsible for every hiccup that leaves me stammering in outrage every time my pc freezes in the midst of a very well paying survey [yep, it only freezes during the high paying ones... very discerning IE9], it IS responsible for most of these hiccups. My husband is constantly asking me why I insist on using IE9 when FireFox and Opera are around... the answer is... I don't quite know why. A long standing habit?     I installed IE9 on my computer when it first appeared - it was so bad I had to remove it so I could access the internet. Having waited several months in the belief that improvements will have been made I tried again - at first it seemed OK with fast loading times, but after a few days it just would not open web pages or if it did, they would take many minutes to open. I thought it might be Windows 7 causing the problems so I tried it on Vista and XP - abolutely rubbish in all cases. So I uninstalled it from all my computers now and use IE8 which works just fine.     hi, I have to admit this is a awful product Microsoft have made, In my experiences with this product you get a new interface witch is a nice touch, but apart from that you don't get much else good for example: when start internet explorer 9 you have a slow wait (about 5 mins on my laptop: 2.16Ghz + 2.17Ghz, 2GB ram, 512MB-1GB video ram windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit) then after that you finally get to the quite good interface, I go to click on a button and you guessed it it crashes then I decide to try out the search system, it works at a fast rate.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Really slow and stutters on some web pages

    If its not broke then dont fix it!!!!! Windows Internet Explorer 8 was fine, why change it. It hardly ever crashed for me and was the only IE i needed. Since updating to IE9 i have needed firfefox on standby. IE9, in my opinion, is the worst IE out there. It will work fine for days then as soon as you hit a web site that has more images, eg, than google and it crashes and stutters. You litteraly see the page scroll fine until it his a java image then it stutters until you have passed the image, then its back to normal resume. I have never had this problem with firefox of google chrome. Mr ... more
