Advantages Advantages Play for hours on end and just plug in and charge - good price

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

After owning my xbox 360 for a while and playing quite a lot (probably too long) I was getting rather fed up with having to constantly change batteries in my controller as it kept running out of battery. This not only meant I had to go and find some new batteries - and in some instances even meant going to the shop to buy some new ones, but it also messed up whatever I was playing particularly in online play as I would just lose and not be able to play. Normal batteries were beginning to rely annoy me so I decided to purchase a play and charge kit! The xbox controller - being wireless eats up ... more

Advantages Advantages Long battery life, easy to use, short charge time.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Yet another wire to get tangled.

It was only recently after I purchased by Xbox 360 system that I realised how much of a nuisance it was to have to switch the batteries in my wireless controller during the middle of a game, especially during multiplayer games. At first I considered buying a wired controller to use instead of my wireless one, but I found this great charging kit instead. The charger goes straight into the USB port in the front of the Xbox 360 system, whilst the battery pack clips into the place where the batteries would usually go. It makes no noticeable difference to the weight or the feel of the controller ... more

Advantages Advantages Brilliant easy to use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages unreliable

I have now bought two of these one of the Xbox versions and a cheaper version. The idea behind this is that the Xbox controller comes with a pack that fits two double A batteries but these are a bit of a waste of time because they run out of power so quickly. When you buy this play and charge kit it has a power lead and a rechargeable battery. The idea is that you connect the power lead to the Xbox by a USB connection and the other end is attached to the controller. It charges the battery as you play The Xbox version is definitely a better quality than the other brands but I have had problems ... more

    Advantages Advantages easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages the wire is annoying

Batteries were working out really expensive and it is a pain keeping track of battery levels, making sure that you do not get caught out while gaming. We bought the play and charge kit as it seemed an easy solution to the battery problem. Price and availability The play and charge set costs around £9.99 and is sold in most game stores or electrical retailers. Description The device is really easy to use. It is a battery pack that fits on the wireless controller and then there is a wire that plugs it into the USB port of the console and links to the controller. The battery pack can be charged ... more

Advantages Advantages Continue playing whilst recharging your controller, save money on batteries, simple to use, rapid recharging

Disadvantages Disadvantages Wireless controller is a wired controller when using the kit

This is something I purchased only a week or two after buying my 360, and I would consider it essential for anyone who uses the 360 wireless controller. It might cost significantly more than a pack of batteries, but it will not be long before you are saving money, especially if you are a heavy gamer (although I would recommend this product to all 360 owners). The play and charge kit works by having you connect a rechargeable battery pack into the slot where your normal battery pack would go on the controller. The external appearance of the normal battery pack and the rechargeable battery pack ... more

Advantages Advantages Quickly charges controller, saves you money

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can't think of any!

The XBOX 360 wireless controller is excellent and very responsive throughout it's life using the battery pack, that life, however, can cost a lot of money to keep going. For the average gamer, the XBOX 360 wireless controller will last for a good 30+ hours of use before it will start to disconnect. After buying my XBOX 360 console in October, the wireless controller survived on the batteries that were provided for around 3 weeks of daily use. If we consider that i use my XBOX less than a lot of people do, replacing batteries every 2 weeks is going to become very expensive, very quickly. The ... more

Advantages Advantages Charges Pretty Quickly, Allows you to play whilst charging

Disadvantages Disadvantages should perhaps be free with console

The xbox 360 play and charge kit allows you to recharge your wireless xbox 360 joypad whilst you play. It simply plugs into the socket on top of your xbox 360 control pad and into the usb port at the front of your console. The kit contains the usb cable and an NiMH rechargeable battery pack. It has around 30 hours of play time per charge (enough for well over a week of extended playing!), with each charge taking a few hours to be fully topped up, and you won't mind waiting those few hours as you'll be playing your game anyway! Its definately a handy little device as it saves you having to buy ... more

Advantages Advantages Saves money on batteries, charges quickly

Disadvantages Disadvantages Cable is a bit on the short side

The play and charge kit allows you to replace the battery pack in your wireless controller with this rechargeable pack, and so there is no longer any need to keep buying batteries. It is very simple to use, just replace the battery pack with the rechargeable one and plug one end of the cable into the controller and the other into your Xbox 360. This will charge up your controller as you carry on playing, and so never again will you have to stop your gaming as you search high and low for those elusive batteries around the house (eventually taking the batteries out of the TV remote). At around ... more

    Advantages Advantages really useful

Disadvantages Disadvantages should have been supplied before

This item from the people at microsoft is one that is really useful if you are a constent user of the mcirosoft xbox 360, and its truly amazing wireless controller i think to get the bads points out of the way first is key as there is only one. This bad point is that i personally think that this item should be included either when you buy a wireless controller or for deffinate when you purchase the xbox 360 premium console as i have personally spent on excess of 20 pounds on good quality batteries. now for the deffinate good points. The battery pack that is supplied with this product when ... more

Advantages Advantages saves you from buying batteries

Disadvantages Disadvantages poor battery life, have to recharge every 4/5 days

I used to go through a lot of batteries using my standard wireless controller for the xbox 360, so i decided to buy a play and charge kit figuring that in the long run it would save me money on buying batteries, well it has saved me money on buying batteries but i am very dissapointed in the product. When i used my normal disposable batteries my controller lasted about a three - four weeks before needing new batteries but the play and charge kit only lasts about four - five days before it needs charging, i thought it would last at least the same amount of time as disposable batteries do. It is ... more
