My very first computer had Microsoft office word on it, back in 2000, however when you buy a computer now Office is not included. Now you are forced to use Works or pay upwards of £100 extra for the basic programmes which is somewhat rediculous for what you are actually getting. The New Layout... In the new version of Microsoft Office Word ther is a whole new layout and style. whereas before now all actions were in drop boxes they are now tabbed. ...

Microsoft word is included in the lowest edition of office 2007 which costs around £100, however for other more advanced versions with more programmes on it it can cost up to several hundred. If it is your first word processor you are buying - ask yourself do you need to pay so much when there are very good free alternatives? e.g. open office or is it simpy worth you upgrading? The simple answer is yes. Although the layout is strange if you are familiar with 2003 or earlier versions you soon get used to it. However, there are some great new features, e.g. style sets where you can change the syle of the whole document in one go, or highlight ...
...before changing it.....really cool! Also being able to save as apdf file is brilliant and amazingly quick. It has definately got the feel of a very slick piece of software. Sure it is expensive but you get alot for your money, and you probably only use a fraction of the features on offer because it it feature packed. ...
