When I purchased my Xbox 360, I had no idea that it would come complete with its own headset, I thought it was going to be something I'd have to go out and buy separately so I was very pleasantly surprised as it was definitely something I needed to talk to my friends online. The Microsoft Xbox 360 headset usually comes with recent console buys so I'm told, but if you want to purchase it separately it will cost you around £10 and can be found in places like GAME or online from Amazon. The Xbox live communicator headset is an accessory that comes with Xbox Premium Console and Xbox elite controller and is one method of using the voice messaging services on Xbox live, The headset itself connects to the Xbox 360 wireless controller via a cable only. Disadvantages uncomfortable, feels cheap and isn't always the best quality

The Xbox 360 - a wonderful invention and in my opinion the best console ever released! I've reviewed the Elite Version, so check that out if that's what you're looking for. This however, is about the headset that comes with Microsoft's well known console. I personally own the black version that was released with the Elite console, but apart from the colour, it is the same as the one that comes with the normal Xbox. The Xbox 360 Headset The Xbox 360 Headset comes with all Xbox 360`s (reviewed) but can also be bought separately from retailers for a cheap price with it being available at Amazon for £10.97. The Xbox 360 Headset is something that was received free with my fiance's Xbox 360 Core which he got from me in December 2007 as his main Christmas present. However, you can also buy this headset for £10.97 from Amazon.co.uk with free super saver delivery. The headset is made from plastic and comes in an off white & grey colour. The Xbox 360's official Microsoft Headset brings the power of voice to online gaming, along with a wide array of trash talk. First made for the original Xbox, the 2nd generation headset changing almost nothing. You get a flimsy plastic headband with equally flimsy plastic mic casing. Advantages You can talk to your friends even if they're far away and meet new people.
Disadvantages Can be uncomfortable for your ears after some time.

Opinions on the official microsoft xbox 360 communicator headset (live) I am torn between good things and potential bad things regarding this product. In my opinion some of the good things about the official microsoft xbox 360 communicator headset is that you can talk to family and/or friends even if they are away in a different country, and you have the opportunity to talk to new people and who knows maybe even make new friends on xbox live. These are Microsoft's official headphones/headset for the Xbox 360. It is primarily meant to be used for Xbox live so that you can hear other people and talk to other people while gaming. They aren't very comfortable. They only have one earpiece, the other side is a bit of plastic that digs into your head so you have to keep moving it to stop it hurting. The sound quality is very poor, even when playing LAN games where bandwidth isn't an issue so sounds should be high quality. The microphone is supposed to go in front of your mouth, but it is not possible to position it like that. You either ... more

Advantages Cheap and does a decent job.
Disadvantages Look isn't as good as other headsets, can be flimsy and break easily if you drop it.

Here are some of the reasons I'm not particularly a fan of the Official XBOX 360 Communicator Handset; 1. The look of the headset isn't as great as some other models I have come across. The feel on your ears and head is decent but it seems as if they just give you a standard model that just does the job instead of spending more time creating it to give it a better look and give you more comfort on your ears. 2.
