Advantages: Looks & feels Great Disadvantages: Its going to get hacked at some point
Introduction:
Well love it or hate it Microsoft's new operating system, is starting to get a foothold on everyday computers now. Since support for XP is going pretty much stop now, and Vista is due to become standard, I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon. You may be wondering why I have business edition. Well I'm a student, doing a Software Engineering course, my university is part of Microsoft's Academic Alliance. This allows me to freely download ... ...Vista Business was the only version I'm allowed. If you can do this, I would, it's a great and little known way of getting free and legitimate software. This review is designed for normal users, I'm not going to go into memory management or other deeper issues.

Advantages: Clean appearance, good start menu, fast, good for small wireless peer to peer Disadvantages: cost, drivers, program compatibility, graphic card acceptance
I run small business server on my small network, however on my back-up laptop which is not part of the LAN I am now using MS Vista Business. It is very good and stable, and many users complain that there is all sorts of bus etc.. I can remember the same said of Windows 3.1, 95, and many computer magazines wrote some very nasty comments about Windows 98 before the SE edition was launched. Windows 2000 was a good system from day one, whereas lets forget ... ...that Vista has. namely, lack of drivers for peripherals, graphics and expansion cards. The other common problem was that many existing programs do not run on the new system platform.
Vista has its problems, but i also suspect that some printer manufacturers and others have deliberately delayed issuing Vista drivers for their old product lines in order for the user to buy replacement equipment.
Vista business is different from Vista Home Premium ...

Advantages: Amazing quality and innovation from microsoft Disadvantages: Bugs, bugs and tons of bugs....
...The great thing about microsoft is that there is endless information and support if anything goes wrong.
Cons:
You need a meaty computer to run with vista with, i personally had to upgrade the ram from 512k to 2GB to satisfy vista's need for memory.
Full of bugs... but hurray! next year there will be a service pack.(ill be here to xmas if i was to list the bugs)
Vista can be a nightmare if your computer isnt designed to run vista however it will ...

Looks great, but performance really suffers.
I recently upgraded to Vista business having always been an early adopter for Operating systems, however this is the first time ive considered downgrading.
Im running this on a "Vista Ready" Centino Duo laptop and i have had to turn all settings to the lowest possible in order to get remotely copeable performance out of it.
My boot up time has increased by approx 40 % and shut down time has increased ... ...hibernate since installing vista - it will always crash when trying to wake up.
Programs generally run a lot slower than what they did in xp.
Basically I would say if you have the processor speed and memory to handle it, then its definately worth consider upgrading - but also on reflection maybe it would be a better call to wait until the service pack comes out.
If you are running anything less than 2gb of memory and either a 3ghz processor or ...

Advantages: Most of the features of Ultimate Disadvantages: Lacks Media Centre
Windows Vista Business Edition, is the best option to go for if you want everything but cant afford Ultimate.
Be warned though, Vista does carry rather hefty recommended requirements if you want to run it with all its bells and whistles, however, I'm running it fine on a Pentium 3 1GHz, with 512MB RAM, 30GB HARD DRIVE and a 4MB AGP video card. Obviously I don't get the nice looks of the nice new Aero interface and it runs a tad slow, but it is still ... ...Centre which is included in Home Premium and Ultimate, but it is afterall, designed for businesses who in most cases wouldn't need this capability.
Perfect for small, medium and large businesses, Business Edition of Windows Vista shows off the good parts of the new operating system without the Ultimate Edition price tag. ...
