It's the future, I've tasted it
Review of Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium by brereton66

Advantages: Excellent new interface, powerful graphics support
Disadvantages: Needs a powerful PC and compatibility for existing software

Microsoft Windows Vista As you may be aware Microsoft have recently launched a new version of its Windows Operating System (OS) under the name Windows Vista. If you're buying a new PC chances are you'll receive one with Vista loaded, if you bought a PC in the last two or three months you are probably entitled to a free upgrade (from the PC supplier, not Microsoft). Anyone who bought a half decent machine in the last 12 - 15 months will need to ... Read review

Diamond review   Viva La Vista
Review of Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium by shaaza

Advantages: Tight security new entertaining games, Fast search
Disadvantages: annoying when it always asks you if it should proceed into opening programmes

...the most amazing software that Microsoft has ever published. It is just amazing and after you finish reading the review you must think the same as well. I actually learnt about Vista before it was published in the shops because I work in one of the biggest electronic shops (I won't say which one), so basically they wanted me to know all about Vista in case if the customers came in and asked me. I got windows Vista with my new Advent Laptop which ... Read review

The Buena Vista Social Club
Review of Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium by ayanayuk

Advantages: Latest OS, some nice features, looks and feels a lot nicer
Disadvantages: Compatibilty, still some bugs, possible system shock, need a decent spec machine

...Now once you've seen one Microsoft install you've seen them all. The only difference with this one is that it's been tarted up a bit. All in all, including drivers for my hardware I was looking at around an hour and a bit. The initial install takes about 40 minutes, but always add a bit more time because there will always be something that needed drivers (in this case the graphics cards). So reboot and off we go and see what it's like. Well it's ... Read review

Microsoft has just grown up...
Review of Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium by DC-DanielColeflax

Advantages: easy to use, set up, extra features, the list goes on and on
Disadvantages: few slight glitches-few minor impracticalities, nothing major

...and once again looks great. Microsoft has paid great attention to graphic detail, and it really does show. The new start-bar looks quite cool too, a change from the old solid coulors of previous operating system. You can now choose to have them semi-transparent, which is sometimes good, but sometimes makes it look a little dirty, such as if you have yellow desktop background under a black startbar it looks like a mucky brown, though this is easy enough ... Possibly Microsoft's best OS yet... But needs work
Review of Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium by zobo77

Advantages: - New useful features - Interface
Disadvantages: - Stability - Price

I've had Vista since just after Easter, when my old computer broke. I didn't buy Vista, but had to have it because all new computers came with it. I wasn't really keen on the idea of getting Vista, I was worried about stability, lagging and compatibility problems, although these aren't necessarily as bad as I was expecting, Vista definately has some stability problems. As I bought this computer with Vista preinstalled, I can't give any information ... Read review

With the Service Pack 1, Vista is Back
Review of Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium by alphatonik

Advantages: Correct lots of bugs - improves performance and security
Disadvantages: takes space and time to install - it is NOT a revolution

...huge marketing around its release, Microsoft comes back in silence with its Service Pack 1... As part of the beta test program, I've recently installed the SP1 update on my computer: You'll find here my experience and my thoughts about this SP1 The installation of the SP1 is neither particularly talkative nor animated. Looking over the Vista towards a better future.
Review of Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium by tubster011

Advantages: The most beautiful Windows GUI ever! And all of the features..
Disadvantages: Occasional annoyance, probably my short temper!

Ok, Lets start at the very beginning. XP was doing just fine on my machine, until it decided that it would just die on me one late afternoon august last year. So what do you do when this unfortunate series of failures happen in your computer? REBUILD! Well I did anyway... I put in a new cpu, ram and hard drive, and to top it all off Vista Home Premium. I had heard that it was a dream to work with, and so that I could get the full benefits of 4gb's ... Read review

Windows or Mac?
Review of Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium by alexloukakis

Advantages: Design, ease of use
Disadvantages: Slower than XP,

Introduction A new Windows? How exciting. At first I thought that it was about time that Gates had done so. XP was a great Windows, however there came a point when I felt that it was not updated enough to match the standards of the ever changing world of technology around us. Having purchased my Sony Vaio which came with Vista, it felt like I was starting to learn the windows interface, all over again. The truth is, it is pretty similar to XP, but ... Read review

Windows Vista the best OS at this Time
Review of Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium by k800ifan07

Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: Costs a bit too much and needs to be modified to play old games

{Into} Windows Vista is one of the most powerful operating systems to date. The Graphic user interface has changed to a newer style compared to the pervious windows such as XP and 2000. {Added features in home Premium compared to basic} Windows Vista Home Premium is the most recommend one for Home users as it contains software such as Media centre, Windows DVD Maker and other media applications. {Problems with older programmes} Windows ... Nice new OS, Needs a little more work.
Review of Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium by cbgordon2

Advantages: Cool look, Aero Function, Flip 3D, Sidebar
Disadvantages: Incompatibility, Some programs unchanged

Windows Vista, Home premium. Ahh the wonders of computers, or just the wonder of stress? Whether or not, it was all worth it! On my Vista install I decided just to upgrade, so I could keep all my files. First I thought that it was way slow (Because I've only got minimum 512MB RAM) It seems very slow, when doing virus check and demanding programs but using the internet and messenger services seem fine. To max the experience I decided to buy some ram, ... Read review

Windows Vista - read this before upgrading
Review of Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium by mark_marriott1

Advantages: Looks great, easy to use
Disadvantages: Made my PC slow. older hardware and software not compatible.

I installed this on my PC as an upgrade from Windows XP. My computer is above the minimum spec for this product, with 1.25Gb Ram, a 2GHz processor, and a 128Mb graphics card. I was impressed with the visual appearance, and ease of use of Vista. There are lots of clear help menus, and wizards to help install hardware - you can just plug a lot of things in and use them straight away. The Media center makes it easy to use a TV Tuner Card and keep ... Read review

Vista - Good but not great
Review of Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium by euronay

Advantages: Pretty looking
Disadvantages: Slow

...- the latest OS from Microsoft is a definate step up from XP, but it has some severe drawbacks. The "Aero" interface, with it's beatiful glassy windows, is extremely pleasing to the eye. I found the driver support great, and little tweaks like the search bar in the start menu really nice. Installing was straight forward and did not take too long, and I found once it had started - it recognised all of my hardware and downloaded and installed ... Read review

Vista home premium
Review of Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium by Crutcho

Advantages: fast once logged on, reliable, easy to use, cool look
Disadvantages: takes 10 seconds longer than xp to get to log in point

Recently I decided that it was time to upgrade my old pc, windows vista had been out for about 6 months and so I decided if I was going to splash out on a pc id have on that was more up to date so I had vista home premium as my OS. I got a pc that was up to the recommended spec for vista home premium. I had 1 GB of Ram a 3.0 GHz processor and a 256 GB graphics card. This was about 2 x the speed of my old windows XP computer so I expected it to be ... Read review

Windows Vista. Worth it or not worth it?
Review of Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium by Sibry1

Advantages: More secure, better applications, better look & feel.
Disadvantages: Still not bug free, overpriced.

Microsoft calls Vista "a breakthrough computing experience." That's marketing hyperbole, for sure, but it's not entirely unfounded. The new Operating system is far more than Windows XP (the current standard Windows Edition) with a pretty new face. Many aspects of Vista are substantive improvements: stronger security, better built-in applications, networking enhancements, parental controls, and DirectX 10 graphics support, to name just a few. For ... Read review
