So, if you are reading this review you are probably deciding whether or not to purchase Vista. Hopefully I can help you out in that decision with a review looking at all of the reasons why, and of course why not to buy Vista.

Specifications
============
So first things first let's look at the recommended specifications described by Microsoft ... ...well and is a brilliant Microsoft product. The first line of defence is obviously Windows Firewall and an Antivirus of your choice. I personally use NOD32 as my antivirus as it uses very little resources but is an excellent anti-virus. Don't go down the commercial route with McAfee or Norton! The built in Firewall is a large improvement on Windows XP Service Pack 2 firewall; it secures both way connections instead of one-way.

Microsoft say that they are hoping for Windows Vista to be installed on 100 million computers by the end of 2007, but the people that I have discussed Windows VIsta with, all say the same thing, they'll buy it when SP1 (codenamed, Windows Figi) is released, this will get rid of all the bugs in the system, of which there are a lot.

Microsoft keep pointing out that Windows Vista is more productive enabling you to carry out tasks quicker and more effectively, with features like desktop search and start search. You can now launch any application or file on your computer by simply typing in the title of the file in the start menu. As you type, search results will start appearing as soon as the file you want to open is at the top of the list, simple press ...

...based on Windows Vista Ultimate. Microsoft has not released a features-comparison table that shows what's offered (or not offered) in the various Vista SKUs. It's going to take people like me a while to install all those flavors and figure out what's different. From the outset, I'd like to make it clear that my experience with Vista has come from running two of the beta (pre-release) versions since June of last year, so any comments I make may not necessarily apply to the final version you can buy now, though it should be very similar. This is certainly true - if your system doesn't meet these specifications, you really shouldn't even think about upgrading to Vista, since you won't see the benefit of it at all and will end up with a far worse computer system than you started with. The recommended specification for getting the best out of Vista is at least a 1 GHz CPU, 1 GB of RAM, and a recent graphics card ...
