    Disadvantages Disadvantages Microsoft have a reputation for being disliked, big chunky heavy ugly console

    Me: Dad I need a new DVD player, the one in my room is getting crappy and scratching up my movies! Dad: I'm getting you an XBOX. Me: But Dad I only need a new DVD player!     Disadvantages Disadvantages Massive console takes up a lot of space.

    I am writing this article to compare the three current-gen consoles, the Nintendo Gamecube, Sony Playstation 2, and Microsoft's Xbox, and hopefully explaining along the way why I chose a certain console as the best. Obviously, it is all down to opinion and this article won't suddenly change a console hater into a fanboy of that console. This is just my opinion, as you will have yours.     Let me just state first of all, I am an Xbox fan. I have one original version and have just treated myself to a new (Improved?) crystal version. I love it, and you know why I bought it first of all? Simply because it had the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer game and the Playstation 2 didn’t (excellent reason to buy it, don’t you think?) But despite my love of the Xbox, I will try and be as un bias as I possible can!     I have owned an Xbox since December 2005. I bought it brand new, and because it had been around for so long, it was only £99.99. So far I think that was probably the best hundred I ever spent. It's quite a chunky machine, but it compares well against Sony's Playstation 2, on the inside. DASHBOARD I feel that the Xbox dashboard is a lot more well thought up than the PS2's. From the moment you turn it on, you can access your game saves, music collection, Live and the basic settings. Yes, you can do some of that on the PS2, but it's more complicated.     Hi, I have decided to try out a new technique in my writing, I hope it makes the review more interesting and helpful. Comparisons The two console are a lot like each other, the XBOX is newer, and runs faster, but the PS2 is older yet, got better games. The XBOX is a big console, that looks like a brick, which you could stand on and it wont break, it is a hard ass console. The PS2 is a smaller console, and easier to place in the house.     = What the Hell is an XBOX? = This is Microsoft’s attempt at a next generation computer game console to rival Sony’s Playstation 2 and the newly released Nintendo Game Cube. It is by far the more powerful unit on the market to play computer games other than a PC and was designed to some what bridge the gap between console and personal computer.     This review is to see which of these two consoles is actually the ruler of the world lol! Playstation 2 Review! The Playstation 2 has many functions to it, you can get it in Jet Black, which I have it in, or you can get it in Silver, which looks way much better, but it is very rare to find. I have many games for this console, over 30. My newest ones are, Dynasty Warriors 3, Timesplitters 2, Enter the Matrix and Shadow Memories.     It may be the most powerful next generation console around on the market but that hasn’t seemed to sway the general public into accepting the XBox as a popular console. It has been a rough year for Microsoft and its big, black console. It has flopped in Japan, so much in fact that even the Dreamcast and the PS1 have been known to outsell it, despite a hefty price cut it is just not shifting and it doesn’t help that retailers aren’t stocking it.     Before Christmas I was looking for looking for advice between presents for my wife and no matter ware I looked I couldn’t find it. She wanted to play games, but as she couldn’t get near to my PC we decided on a games console. The PS One was soon disregarded because of the lack of new games being made, even when the price of £49.99 made it so tempting as we could have bought loads of games. The Game Cube was also tempting us at £129.99 with a free game. Which surprisingly it was a brand new release like Harry Potter or StarFox.     After much decision making (about five minutes) we decided that it might be about time to update our games console from a PS1 to an X Box – a bit of a difference there I know! Being a great bargain hunter I spent ages trying to find the cheapest price and in the end we decided to import one from the USA. At the time they were much cheaper, it was only after receiving it they reduced the price over here – typical, I was not amused. So, things to think about when importing; 1. MOST IMPORTANT!!
