Advantages: Easy to use, effective and compact Disadvantages: A bit expensive
...we decided on was the Miele Cat and Dog TT 5000. Now we have neither a cat nor a dog but this one seemed to be the best for power and performance from what we could see so this was the one we chose.
HOW MUCH DID IT COST?
As I said we looked in one or two places at the various sorts of cleaners and priced them as we went along. The best price we could get was Argos at £189.99.
SO WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
It is a compact cylinder model in Autumn ... ...an awkward angle whereas the Miele is carried more like a suitcase and makes it much less of a strain on my back.
THE TOOLS
The main brush is the standard floorhead and is used for carpets and floors (not unsurprisingly!) The crevice nozzle is for getting into awkward corners, crevices or folds. The dusting brush has natural bristles and is useful for cleaning skirting boards and ornate carved articles such as ceiling roses and coving. The head ...

...shops I came across the Miele Cat-Dog TT5000. I guess half of the reason I fell in love with it is the design. It has a very modern design and I just liked the look of it. The other half of me couldn’t help chuckling at the odd name. Cat-Dog. God knows why they called it that but it is quite funny nevertheless.
It was a lot of money onsidering you can pick up hoovers relatively cheaply these days but I wanted something that was going to last and ... ...the weird red colour that Miele have used on the casing. Not that red is a particular favourite colour of mine but my old hoover was a nasty shade of pea green. So red immediately looked much nicer.
And so for the test….
The Miele Cat-Dog TT5000 has a very generous length of cord so depending on where the sockets are in your house it should reach anywhere. I only have a small room to hoover so it is really easy to do and I don’t need hardly any ...

Quick review of Miele CAT DOG TT5000
Having used numerous manufacturers products over the years,I never found one capable of dealing with PET HAIRS,this includes Dyson,Hoover,Electrolux,Panasonic etc. I then bought the Mile TT5000 which does the job admirably, its quiet yet powerful,is great for use on the stairs, has a good set of tools supplied,it is bagged so the offending hairs/dirt are contained for disposal,as opposed to the non bagged type which allows hairs to escape when tipping out.If you want to clean up PET HAIRS the Miele TT5000 is the cleaner for you. ...

Our Cat and Dog broke down when less than 2 years old and still under warranty. Miele refused to fix the cleaner and offered no other compensation. Terrible customer service and not a great machine. I would not recommend this make to anyone. ...

...I might add that a Miele washing-machine I had (and later passed on to my sister) did 15+ years of daily use without a single break-down - Miele products really ARE 'built to last'
As for the name - well, my dog ('Woof' - a lurcher) is regularly groomed with it - without fuss - whilst his hairs are easily picked up from carpet and car with the normal head in place.
The extra-long cable (8m) and extending steel pipe (1.5m) and hose (2m) makes it ... ...perfect? No - the Miele CLOTH bags are simply wonderful but they cost a fortune (£2 each) and the cheaper PAPER bags (and independent bags) are nowhere near as good (about £1 each)
I found a solution - a 'universal' cloth bag from Comet which costs £5 for 8 and as they are extra-large and CAN be emptied, are excellent value for money. Doubtless even cheaper on eBay and well worth looking out for.
A few more facts for those who have not used/can't ...

Advantages: SUPERB CLEANING, CANT FAULT IT Disadvantages: A LITTLE DIFFICULT TO STORE
I absolutley love my miele cat & dog. Vacuuming is now a pleasure, dare I say fun (sad arent I!) . After several years of putting up with cr*p machines, (one of which was a rather expensive one) ,which blew up, blocked up and messed up I did some careful research and read several reviews on the internet and came across the Miele cat and dog. I have one hairy Labrador X and 5 kids and my vacuums just couldnt cope with us, I was getting through one ... ...of the best buys I have ever made, it is certainly the best vacuum I have ever bought. It is superbly powerful and does my carpets and wood floor a treat! It has never blocked up or let me down and sucks up dog hairs and muck brilliantly. I cant fault its performance, I only have a problem with storing it but I always have with cylinder models. ...
