Advantages: Compact and light, great suction power Disadvantages: You will have to keep buying dust bags...
To make the choice easier, Miele helpfully named this edition of their cylinder vacuum cleaner Cat & Dog. So potential customers were able to identify it as such. It worked for us. I chose a cylinder cleaner as they’re smaller and quieter, and easier to get up and down the stairs and round furniture. We don’t actually have any pet hair to deal with, only human hair of the long variety, but we have a couple of Turkish rugs which will cling to hairs ... ...some sort – a suction-only vacuum cleaner would not have worked here. Rugs on the other hand are tricky because they have tasselled fringes etc that can be a disaster in the making with the rotating brushes of an upright.
The cleaner itself is light and compact, considerably smaller than the old upright we used to have. It has a compact body, on wheels which allow you to manoeuvre round the furniture no problem, and it is also small enough to sit ...

Advantages: Does what it claims to do Disadvantages: The attachments need cleaning regularly and the bags get full quickly
...saw the advert for the Miele Cat and Dog hoover over a year ago and realised that it was just what we needed. Of course I didn't believe their claims, few vacuum cleaners have managed to pick up dog hairs in my experience. I thought it must be a gimmick and decided to come to Ciao to read some customer reviews. All reviews seemed to be in favour. I thought the cleaner was quite expensive but I had some money saved and thought it was the least I could ... ...a good supply of these. Miele offer monthly delivery of these I think which I wish I'd opted in for. There is a red indicator bar on the front of the cylinder that tells you when the bags are full.
Now another little story (I'll try to keep it brief)
Just over a year after getting my Vacuum it began to lose suction. I was gutted, as Miele had never sent confirmation of receiving my warranty. I grumbled and moaned at the name of Miele but usually ...

...telling me there was a Miele Cat and Dog Plus fully paid for over the phone awaiting collection at our local House of Fraser. She'd heard they were really good.
Our first night was spent examining the bits and bobs, and documentation, what goes where etc, and decided to wait until the morning for the first test. When it came to the test we were astonished. Even on a low setting, where it previously took 8-10 passes of the brush, the 'turbobrush' ... ...the lounge.

Miele also offer an extended warranty, which I took out just after purchase. I'm normally very wary of these, but for £17 a year for 5 years covers you for all parts and labour (*excluding misuse). You also get two boxes of dustbags each year (10 dustbags and 2 Super Clean Air filters) delivered free of charge to you. The normal cost of these are £6.50 a box, although to be fair I've only just changed the first dustbag, ...

...I have had my Miele Cat and Dog for around five years now and it is still going strong. It is without a doubt the best vacuum cleaner I have ever seen (you can shove your Dysons) and I would heartily recommend purchasing this item if you are looking for a long-lasting, hard-working little sucker!
One of my favourite features with this piece is the quality build and design. The cleaner is cylindrical, built from a durable plastic, but is not unwieldy ... ...the high street).
The Miele cost me around £190, which was one of the most expensive cleaners you could buy back then. With the assault of the Dyson range on the market, prices of cylindrical vacuum cleaners have fallen considerably, but I have not seen one as good this yet.
So go on – get one and get sucking! ...

Advantages: it works! sturdy, unbreakable Disadvantages: bags are quite expensive
We bought this after reading other reviews on Ciao. We have 7 cats, 3 of which are Persian, and also 3 lovebirds who leak feathers like there's no tomorrow. We had previously exhausted 2 Dysons and an Electrolux . I wasn't too keen to go back to a 'bag' cleaner, but I have no doubts about recommending this one.
This hoover works! It deals with all manner of fluff and dirt. The provided on board tools are standard, but great for all jobs. You can ... ...no loss of efficiency.
The Turbo head is a boon on carpets, but not so good on flat floors.
The 6 settings mean you can use it for dusting picture rails and coving, sucking fur of f your pets favourite armchair, and the curtains that lie touching it, as well as give the carpets a really good go at the same time. If anything you have to watch your setting because sometimes it is just too powerful and you can't move it against the carpet pile.

Advantages: easily portable. Clean and most efficient Disadvantages: Uses disposable bagsThere is a second head for use on hard surfaces ie.
This was my last attempt at purchasing a cleaner that would remove stubbon dog hairs. Not only does this machine do that perfectly but also filters out the air as well.It has several power settings that make it easy to use on all types of surface. It comes with various attatchments like upholtery brush crevice nossle and soft brush. These are stored on the cylinder itself under a flap on the top.

Advantages: Powerful..Easyand light to use . Worth every penny for the easy housework ! Disadvantages: The Miele hoover bags i think are a little on the expensive side ..
I have owned my Miele cat & dog hoover now for 3 weeks . I have run my own house now for 30 years and have owned a few hoovers in that time and have cursed and sworn and each and every one of them ! One was way to heavy and bulky to use on the stairs ( upright Hoover ), another could'nt even suck the fluff off the carpet ( vax hoover ) . I have even owned a Dyson , which i paid good money for and it worked brilliantly for the first few months , then ... ...Then my daughter bought a Miele cat and dog hoover because she has 5 dogs and cat . I watched with an open mouth and this little light weight red hoover ran across her living room carpet and left a completely clean stripe behind it ! I had to get me one of those ! I went the next day to Argos and bought one for £195 .
I have 3 long haired cats which shed hair all over my navy blue carpet and any cat owner can tell you that cat hair sticks like glue ...

I will start by saying that I have tried and tested more hoovers vacuum cleaners than most people will own in their lifetime as my part time job is cleaning houses with people's houses. I use their appliances and they all have different ones.
I used to want a Dyson. Everyone said how great they are...well I don't know what the hype is about, as this 'Cat and Dog Miele' is far far better than any Dyson I have used.
Suction and brushes: A useful ... ...the suction down when hoovering close to fragile items or expensive curtains!! The attachements are pretty standard and all you will ever need.
Length of mains cabe and hose: This is to me one of the strongest points. The mains lead is so long!! It's fantastic when you want to hoover two sometimes 3 rooms in one go. There is nothing more annoying than having to plug and unplug a zillion times throughout the house, or to get to the corner of a room ...

Advantages: Really excellent suction, certainly gets the dog hairs! Disadvantages: Too good, have to change the bag quite often
...and for doing stairs. The Miele Cat & Dog is even better than the other German vacuum it replaced. The suction is amazing, you do have to change the suction power otherwise rugs might well disappear! It's easy to change the setting on the head (with your foot) for swapping between carpets and hard floors. The vacuum is very manoeuvrable and quite light. The tools are easily accessible and easily switched around. It has a really good length telescopic ... ...is that you have to put the tools on the end of the telesopic arm and therefore often shorten it, rather than split it in the middle. The only other negative comment is a backhanded compliment as the suction is so good (or my house is so dirty!) that I do have to replace the bags quite frequently. However, replacing the bags is very quick and easy and the bags have an excellent mechanism for "closing" them when they're full. ...

...how much stuff this little Miele actually sucks out of the carpets, or how much pet hair my lurchers shed. I change the bag about once every two to three weeks depending on the moult! Advantages: Too many advantages - throw away your Dyson! Disadvantages: None as of yet!
I have been using my Miele Cat n Dog for around 2 years now - this is way longer than any other vacuum (including Dyson) has ever lasted me before without having to have majorly expensive repairs!
Miele seem to build for life when they make a product and this little machine certainly lives up to that statement - they must be sure of their product lasting longer than its rivals too as they offer a much longer parts and labour guarantee :~)
The vacuum ... ...of the house - the Miele removes all traces of their presence within minutes whereas my Dyson would take an hour or so just to do the downstairs!
It has six different power settings ranging from 900 for delicate rugs (and cushion covers!!!!) to 1800 for everything else! I rarely even use a duster these days as I find my Miele dusting brush more efficient. To be totally honest, I wish I'd bought one of these little gems years ago. You get no bad ...

Advantages: Excellent at picking up long human hair Disadvantages: Expensive replacement parts
I've had my Miele cat and dog vacuum for almost 4 years and it has consistently outperformed all other vacuum clearners I've ever had.
I almost didn't buy it because the sales person said that it's only suitable for pets with short hair - so I was worried that long human hair would cause problems. There was no need for my concern though, it's been wonderful at picking up long hairs (I've had to resort to using the nozzle to pick them up with most ... ...After almost 4 years the Miele cat and dog vacuum has suffered its' first problem - the vacuum head stopped going round (possibly due to long hair getting tangled in it). I'll admit that the £70 ish replacement wasn't cheap but on balance I'd prefer to get a new vacuum head every 4 years than to waste hours struggling to vacuum up long hair.
I can't remember exactly what I paid for the machine itself - somewhere around £350 (from John Lewis). ...

Advantages: Lightweight and powerful Disadvantages: None that I have found
I love this vac. Its so light compared to the dyson that I already owned. If fact the dyson is now in consigned to the loft.
I have a cat and it picks up the hairs brilliantly. Its lovely to use, its quiet and even the stairs are a doddle to vac with this item.
I used to hate vacuuming but not anymore! LOL
My teenage son said how much he liked it as well. The bags are removal and its very clean. No mess when you change the bag at all.
There is ... ...the suction. This is also really useful as some surfaces require different suction power.
The onboard tools are also very good. There are various heads to use as well so you dont have to stick to the one. Its very easy to adjust the height of the pipes as well which is really convenient. ...

Advantages: Very efficient Disadvantages: None so far
I have been interested in trying one of these machine for a couple of yeras and have been watching the reviews to assess it for myself.
However last week I finally took delivery of our own model.
We have had a couple of Dysons but this machine has made very short work of the hair on the carpets produced by 3 cats.
The manual is easy to follow and the machine is straightforward to assemble.
The turbo brush is fantastic - very efficient. It is ... ...the carpet the sound produced is amazing, it just shows the power that is there.
We have fitted carpets, with no hard floors so I can only comment on that part of the machine.
My husband does our vacuuming and as we live on 3 floors there is a lot of carpet. It can take him 90 minutes or more to do the lot. However he set off on Saturday to do the job and 30 minutes later he was done and you can really see where he had been.
I can thoroughly recommend ...
