Advantages Advantages delicious, not too expensive

Disadvantages Disadvantages lack of flavours available in the UK, lack of availability generally

Milka has been around since 1901, when it was first invented by Philippe Suchard in Neuchâtel, Switzerland with the intention of bringing this former luxury product to everyone. The brand was first available in Switzerland only, but soon became available in Austria, Germany and France. Today the chocolate can be found worldwide - mostly produced and marketed through Kraft Foods. The major markets are Argentina, Austria, Balkans, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey. And now, apparently ... more

I wish I could hate chocolate for at least a month. I’m very sweet toothed and I love any kind of chocolate. Naturally my favourite one is milk chocolate but I eat all of them. I don’t really stick to Cadbury as there are several other tasty chocolates on the market I have to test. Lol Milka chocolates are my second favourites after Cadbury. There is a very large variety of them available in UK: - Milka Alpine Milk – simple milk chocolate - Milka Alpine Milk Caramel – double caramel filling - Milka Chocolate Cream – filled with cream - Milka Daim – not tested yet but the milk chocolate ... more

    Advantages Advantages Delicious

Disadvantages Disadvantages Well, some will say it's bad for you!

Move aside Cadbury's. Nestle doesn't even get a look in. Here's another chocolate 'superpower' (yes, such a power exists in the chocolate world)... it's Milka. More specifically their great tasting Caramel version. For those unaware of Milka, as it is nowhere near as widely available in the UK as it is in most parts of Europe, is Kraft Foods' best-selling brand of milk chocolate and has a well-known brand symbol, the "Milka Cow". The packaging for the chocolate comes in a lilac colour as well. Having just been on holiday in Turkey, I was amazed with the sheer number of Milka bars there are out ... more

Advantages Advantages Delicious chocolate, ridiculously cheap over here, a million and one flavours

Disadvantages Disadvantages The UK stuff's never as nice.

As a child the majority of my holidays were in German speaking countries. If there’s one thing Germany and Austria are good for, it’s chocolate. They have more sorts than you could possible imagine, most are delicious and all are cheap. Terrible places to visit, let alone live, unless the Michelin man boasts the figure you’re striving for. Milka is something I tried about 13 years ago, and have been eating ever since. The standard UK version comes in 100g bars from all good supermarkets, but over here we can also get bits-size 40g bars and huge sod off 300g ones. There are ... more

Advantages Advantages Really milky creamy chocolate.

Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit sickly sweet if you have too much. Too milky for me!

MILKA CHOCOLATE I like to buy new things when they are on offer, because if I don't like them, then I haven't wasted as much and as this is on offer at the moment in Tesco's I decided to give it a whirl. It doesn't take much persauding to test chocolate! ~~~What's it like?~~~ It comes in a lilac packet with white writing on it and states that it is made from 'Alpine Milk'. There is also a picture of a cow on the front (for those who don't know where milk comes from I presume!) also in lilac with Milka written on it's body (don't we confuse children enough???). It is sectioned into squares with ... more

Advantages Advantages IT'S CHOCOLATE, BUT CHEAP AS CHIPS, CREAMY AND RICH

    Disadvantages Disadvantages NOT WIDELY AVAILABLE

When it comes to chocolate, brands such as Cadbury's or Nestlé spring to mind. However, my friend recently came to visit after returning from Cyprus laden with lots of goodies including Milka Chocolate. This is not a brand that I am terribly familiar with and more fool me. I was actually quite surprised to learn that Milka is the largest brand of chocolate in Europe and it is made in Germany by Kraft Foods. I had to taste for myself what I had been missing out on all this time. Milka chocolate comes in fairly sophisticated wrapping. The outer wrapper is fairly bright and eye-catching, bright ... more

Well I already have put one op up today, so why not do another. I am in the middle of watching a film here munching away on a choccy bar that I bought earlier today. Well I am a chocoholic and what more could a girl ask for on a cold Saturday night. This bar that I am so lovingly enjoying is MILKA. This bar cost me 69p for 100g at Sainsbury, but can vary from shop to shop. As far as I am aware this is the only size they do. I know if you go abroad it does come in other sizes. THE PACKAGING ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This georgeous bar of pleasure comes in a purple wrapper with chunks of choccy pieces and ... more

I have just come back from my local Iceland, and was surprised and delighted, that they have these Milka bars on offer. The offer was a multipack of 3 x 45g for a mere 50p. That had to ring bargain for me, so I gladly obliged and bought a pack. Each bar is a purple colour, about 6 inches in length, and approx an inch in width. On the front of the packet it has a picture of a purple cow with Milka written on it. It is also keen to spell out that it uses alpine milk, whatever that is. A quick check on their website told me what I needed 'In the Alps, the mountain streams run fast with pure water ... more

This chocolate really is heaven. I really don’t know how they do it, and they are German. Sorry to the German population but I’m an avid football fan and England and Germany, well lets just say we have some differences. But Germany is responsible for one of the finest footballers in Steffen Freund, he is a legend. Anyway back to the point of the review, ahhh Milka, yes. This is lovely stuff. I was first introduced to Milka three years ago, on my first Snowboarding Holiday to Austria. We went into the local town looking for some food because the food in the hostel we were staying was atrocious ... more

Having just polished off a bar of Milka Alpine Milk, I thought it would be rude not to review it. I have had it a few times and in a few varieties before and I think it's yummy so when I saw it this week for 50p bargain price for a 100g bar, I had to get one. Basically, this is creamy yummy milk chocolate which I think is more milky and creamy than your standard dairy milk. This does seem to make it a bit sweeter and less cocoa-y but this can be a good thing, it just makes it hard for me to eat a lot in one go (could be a good thing, theres 132cals per 25g!). It comes in a pale purple wrapper ... more
