Advantages Advantages Excellent house design, reasonable price

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Dreadful customer service

I'd reached that time in my life where I was ready to settle down... (I'm a modern man, and have... well, only a little trouble admitting that!) Myself and my fiancee were living in a flat in Edinburgh when we were told by a friend about lots of new houses being built in Dunfermline, 16 miles across the Forth Bridge in Fife. We went to see a few houses and were relatively impressed, not least by the fact that the price of a good-sized two bedroom flat in Edinburgh would buy us a four-bedroom detached house with a garage and garden in Dunfermline! None of the houses really grabbed us, though ... more

Advantages Advantages Great service, before and after moving in

Disadvantages Disadvantages None come to mind

I'm writing this review as I'm shocked by the poor reviews previously given about Miller homes. I've had quite the opposite experience with them. The other reviews seem to be from a number of years ago, so maybe they've sorted out their customer care issues since then, either that or theres a problem in only some regions, I noticed 2 of the 3 other reviews were from Edinburgh and I know Millers customer care is still very regional. Buying the house Anyway, onto my review. About 6 months ago myself and my wife to be set out looking for a new place having only bought our first house 18 months ... more

    Advantages Advantages part exchange

Disadvantages Disadvantages hidden fees and poor advice. Not given the whole facts before being pushed to sign.

I would just like you to know the experience I had with Miller Homes and their site at Whittley Park in Chorley. First off, I am not moaning about the quality of their houses as we thought that they were good from our initial inspection, the problem came from the way that we have been ripped off by their sales manager. When we signed for the reservation plot we were told that they had to take a deposit of £250.00 which only half was refundable if we decided not to continue with the sale. We asked if there were any points in contract of sale that we should know about and if we could see it ... more

Advantages Advantages Nothing Springs To Mind

Disadvantages Disadvantages The After Sale Circus

Our problems started from the moment we confirmed our purchase. Miller Homes promised to keep us informed as the build developed. This as it turned out was simply spin. On one visit to the site after being told that the property was progressing well we were told that access was only possible with the site manager as all external doors had just been fitted. This was simply not true, as our property had no doors or windows at the time and was in fact three months behind schedule. At this point we should have smelt the proverbial rat and pulled out of the deal, but it was to late. 17 months after ... more

    Advantages Advantages Looks nice

Disadvantages Disadvantages poor quality, terrible service, generally useless

Just to the point, else I could rant for days. Edinburgh couple renting a brand new miller home. Overall it looks very nice, but its in the little things they fall down on. Like doing a good job or solving customer problems. Since it was silly for myself to contact the letting agency>owner>miller I said I would phone direct. Never turning up, or if they do, its because they were on site and to tell me it would be fixed tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow. Then the joyous day comes... and somehow they never fix the problem. All the sink/bath plugs were not installed properly, not the actual ... more

    Advantages Advantages None

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Rip off

I bought a Miller Home in 2008 and myself and three of my neighbours have been burgled because of Miller staff's incompetence (leaving doors and windows unlocked after working in occupied properties). Rumours of a multi-million pound fraud add to the impression that Miller Homes are not as honest as they should be - and the residents at my development know that items that were meant to be includedd in our 'welcome packs' were stolen by Miller staff (gift vouchers for a nearby gym, etc.) The customer service website doesn't seem to work, so when you report issues via it nothing gets done and ... more
