Great to learn with

Advantages: Easy to learn to use, cheap, gives good results
Disadvantages: Limited features, can be difficult to purchase extra lenses etc, bit bulkier than modern SLRs

...which attracted me to the Minolta X-300 was the price. Being a rather old and simple camera, it is very cheap. Lenses that are available for the camera are cheap too. I bought my X-300 with a standard 50mm lens for £100 from a local camera store. It was second hand however, so it's more likely to be around £200 when purchased new probably. Still a great deal when you consider that your average, good SLR will cost you around £400. ...

Disadvantages: Basic, limited features

Advantages: REliable, Excellent results, Excellent pictures, Plus added features
Disadvantages: Heavy, Cumbersome to carry around

Have owned this model for over 15 years and then i bought it second hand, with lots of accessories, never let me down and i have never had any problems with it, it still works to this day and i still use it! the pictures are superb providing you focus them. I will probably keep it forever, never thought about exchanging or selling it and i also do own a digital camera mainly for convenience and fast availability of prints etc. Would recommend to ...
