Advantages: Compact but clear mapping, pedestrian mode is useful feature. Disadvantages: Poor customer services
The Mio Digiwalker C510 is a neat piece of kit, and fits easily into your pocket. Although it can be slow finding the satellites, if you have moved location since switching off, it has very clear mapping and is easy to use. On motorways it is a little late telling you when to leave, so ideal for BMW drivers :-) Works well when cycling, but in the pedestrian mode it can become confused with which way you are going. That being said, I have saved a ...

Advantages: handy to use and packed with extra features Disadvantages: bluetooth handsfree is not as effective at higher speeds
In my opinion this sat nav is terrfic value for money. It has a whole host of features including blue tooth for hands free, a comprehensive range of european maps, easy to follow maps and voice prompts, speed camera alerts and on screen speed limits to name but a few.
The pre programmed POI (points of intersts) are useful. Many times i have taken the kids somewhere interseting just by selecting the nearest Zoo or theme park. Also, the nearest cashpoint ... ...With easily recognisable icons and simple menus I can assure anybody wishing to buy a sat nav that they cannot go far wrong with this product. Also the picture / memory stick reader and the mp3 player are very useful extras that make this sat nav in my opinion one of the best on the market.
On the down side the windscreen mounting bracket can vibrate at high speeds and also the bluetooth handsfree can suffer from interference when travelling at ...

Advantages: low price, compact design, easy to operate, 24 european country maps on cd Disadvantages: windscreen mount can vibrate at high speeds
Ive owned my Mio C510 E for about six months now and i am very pleased with it, its become a must have for any long car journey, or just to find a shop, address or place of interest in a area im not familiar with. The unit is very compact and has a nice solid feel to, its easy to set up and operate, most of its functions are accessed through its touch screen that has nice sized buttons that will accomodate the fattest of fingers.
The software supplied ... ...I used the MIO in Portugal in november in a hire car with no problems, I just installed the map suppiled on cd with the unit onto a SD card that I had bought seperately and it did the rest. I must add here that one or two of the routes that the system took me down ended in a dead end where a new road or developement had been built across the sugested route, but thats to be expected with any sat nav system and applies in the uk too, as sat navs only ...

Advantages: Speed Camera Detection. Use as Bluetooth hands free kit. Built to perform without being fussy! Disadvantages: This base model does not include traffic information.
...them come close to the Mio for value for money.
This is one of those bargains you stumble upon once in a while, where you realise the big name brands are ripping you off and this one does a lot more functions!
Very easy to use touch screen which is a good size, unlike the Road Angel 6000 where you have to use a stylus! Ugh!
This unit has NEVER taken me the wrong way and has so many built in locations like restaurants, petrol stations, cinemas ... ...can also "hack" into the mio and customize things like layout and menus exactly how you want to look & work!
A few more functions include MP3 player and photo viewer which are pretty useless if you have a normal sound system in your car and the photo viewer I've never even used because it seems pointless - but maybe some people like it?
I bought mine from an eBay store (for about £180) as you can usually find things cheaper there. I will be buying ...

Advantages: Fast re-route calculations, Easy to use Disadvantages: Battery life is not long enough when out the vehicle
I have had my 510e for 6 months. As i do night driving i decided to try it in my truck. If you use your head its very good. Only you have to watch where it takes you when you divert due to traffic jams. I had to drive past quite a few very small roads that it tried to direct me down but the re routing was very fast and accurate. It has always managed to get me where i was going. One warning though put in the street name if you have it then the post ... ...few miles out. Having said that when it agrees to the road it takes you to within feet of your destination. Overall a brilliant piece of kit. Battery life is short if out walking it lasts only about 3 hours at best. apart from that for the price you cant go wrong. ...
