I have been using this product since it came on the market about 4 years ago and I have upgraded the maps each time and now I am using version 3. The maps are very clear and easy to view and the directions seem to avoid cliff tops and fords etc, my two main gripes are that you can't update the speed camera database that comes with version 3, however you can add and delete cameras manually. The other gripe is that the directions are given by a man with a posh voice, a choice would be good. I have also got a Garmin street pilot and the Mio beets that hands down. ...

I have been using the Mio 268 for about a year now and it has served me quite well. The map display is quite clear with both 2D and 3D options. The screen is also quite large so is easy to read - the night mode also helps when driving in the dark. The map software can be updated for 'free' but does involve postage costs to Belgium. ...bit annoying. But you can search by streets and then select the exact point using the 'choose on map' option. Also have had some issues with blocking roads. When you have programmed in a journey and then decide to block a road, it doesnt give you the road names - just the distances. Can be a bit annoying. it looks nice the screen disply is great the battery life on the product is poor its allways running out its a very hard to use u find your reading the maunal every five minutes its difficult to link up to the computer it doesn't seem to get it right we've tryed uploading music files, pictures files and extras to the nav but it doesn't work these little problems with it have made us mad because we never thought that it could be so hard to use it. ...
