Advantages: versatile on and off road, kids love it, great reliability Disadvantages: high petrol consumption, under powered
We bought the car because my wife prefers to be able to see above other cars and it gives us all a feeling of security.
We have 3 children who all love the car as the view for them is much better than the one from our previous car a Peugeot 406.
we've used it extensively on and off road, more on the sand off road and it has been a delight, the car is 4 years old now and we've had no problems whatsoever.
Its safe, reliable, a little under powered ...

Advantages: Load lugging space, high driving position Disadvantages: A handful in the car park
After driving sports cars for the last year, it was time to get sensible and buy something with space for more than 2 people and a toothbrush!
The attraction of the Shogun was the high driving position, preceived safety of a bigger car, and cavenous load lugging capability.
After a month of driving, I have overcome the initial shock of swopping the low slung ride of a sports car, for the slightly spongy ride of a 4x4.
Although the Shogun has proved ... ...just over 16 Mpg) each tank of fuel has returned slightly better fuel economy than the last. The most recent returning 18.4 Mpg (this included a trip where the Shogun carried 7 people around 150 miles with the air-con on the whole way)
The Shogun has swallowed 2 adults, 1 child and two dogs with ease, and still had room for 3 shredded wheat.
The auto gear box is smooth, and the engine quiet. It hasn't got the pace of a greyhound, more like an elephant ...

Advantages: Pulling power is amazing Disadvantages: Fuel fuel fuel and more fuel
This car is a pulling machine and that is the only reson for buying it. As a family car to pull a caravan or horse box or anything large and heavy it is your perfect machine. For storage, fuel consumption and everything much else I think it should be scrapped! Fuel consumption is about an average 20/25 miles per gallon on a good day, put it this way a long goes in and not many miles come out. There is absolutely no storage space inside the car for ... ...seats for spare clothes for the kids or rain coats etc. Leg space is great and the idea of the rear (6/7) seats are flat in the floor of the boot is especially great.
The security is the bee in my bonnet at the moment. We have had the alarm going off in the night and I have spoken to the garage twice about it - seems they are very sensitive, a gust of wind, someone elses alarm being set, the slightest touch or even just breathe on them and off with ...

Advantages: lot of spaces for Disadvantages: thyrsty
This is my second shogun and is " FANTASTIC" I owned before a diesel version but with the petrol version is much more fun and when you need the power you got it under the bonnet, especialy when someone is flashing on you on the motorway.
I went in Italy 4 times with this car and I had not a problem ,and I use also regularly to go shoping in France and I allways manage to carry back a lot of wine /beers and other shopping with me and we had allways ...
