Keep in contact with the world

Advantages: Cheap, works perfectly, good features, robust
Disadvantages: No special features

The Truim Mars is a small light little phone that came out about 2.5 years ago and was such great value that is still can't be beaten now. For the last 2.5 years this phone has been everywhere with me, from school, to work to France to Italy (twice) and to university. It is the best value item I have ever purchased, can you name another item that you would take everywhere with you and use almost every day? No? For a girl in her late teens a mobile ...
...life, my mum can call me at the weekends while I am away at university and it makes me feel safer if I am anywhere alone to feel the slight lump in my pocket to know that I have my phone with me. And I don't think I could have coped the 4 months over the summer away from my boyfriend without the the beep of my phone and the messages coming in every few hours! So to the phone, small light, rounded body with a little ariel and a large screen, fits ...

Is there life on Mars

Advantages: Cheap light looks good excellent battery time hands free facility works really well in the middle of a table so several people can enter into a teleconference scenario
Disadvantages: Prone to intermittency if knocked about especially the antenna connection keylock does not prevent other keys from lighting up your pocket and draining the battery

 I like this phone. It is small and stylish but it lacks mechanical robustness so you need to take care not to drop it.  The phone is aesthetically pleasing and works fine apart from the occasional intermittency, which I now seem to have resolved (see below).  There is no facility to load your own custom tunes on the phone, but I find the 'oriental' ring tone quite pleasing.  Not being an expert ‘texter’ I rarely ...
...usual shortcut features found on more expensive phones.  I have used the WAP capability a few times but since WAP is of benefit to neither man nor beast I tend now to leave this well alone as it is also expensive.  I don’t believe in line-rentals and dodgy contracts (Hey, Wycliffe honey...)and will never entertain the idea, so for £49.99 on 'pay-as-you-go', this is a good budget phone which has served me well.  Snap-on ...

Advantages: wap, small, sexy, games
Disadvantages: fiddly buttons

I got the Trium Mars for Christmas and cost me a mere £35, which I considered a very good deal. There are many features of this small phone that make it good, which I will now go into. WAP This has to be one of the great plus points of this phone. At only £35 (on OPEN) this was the cheapest WAP phone available as far as I am aware, and I think it still is. Although much the hype about WAP was completely overstated, it can actually be quite useful ...
...problems using WAP on this phone. It even has a bookmark facility to bookmark up to ten of your favourite sites. You also get to choose whether to download pictures or not, which is a useful option when you are simply looking for something quickly and dont want the page logos. On this subject, I found that the screen was very easy to read, and the resolution made it easy to make out pictures clearly. Although WAP is a bit gimmicky, I found it useful ...

A phone for the future

Advantages: Small, light, plenty of features
Disadvantages: Dodgy user manual

Trium might not be the trendiest of phone people, but they certainly build good phones. I've always had an aversion to the mobile phone, considering it to be an intrusion into my life - I always thought that if I wanted to make/receive calls, I'd be at home able to use the landline. But Mother wasn't convinced, and got me a little phone about a month ago. The phone has everything that all the other big name phones around at the moment have, but it ...
...rivals, most of which are a darn lot more expensive. It's got all the usual phone book stuff, two more original games than most, the superbly fantastic and brilliant T9, plenty of tunes to pick from and of course the WAP features. WAP phones were, in my opinion, badly marketed. Ask Sir Clive Sinclair about the value of marketing your product at the right audience! The WAP features are fantastic. There's all the info you want when you're out and about ...

Small Phone...Big Attitude

Advantages: Small, light and stylish. Offers many great features.
Disadvantages: The Internet access is very expensive.

When my daughter very recently had her Nokia 3310 stolen, I needed to get her a replacement phone. I did not want to buy another expensive phone in case the same thing happened again. After looking on the Vodafone web page, my daughter decided that she would really like to have the Trium Mars. This phone is available on pay as you go, all calls and smartstep and priced at £49.99. Last week myself, my husband and a couple of friends went on a beer ...
...I noticed the Trium Mars on sale for £30, at that price I could not resist buying it. When we got the phone back home, we found that my daughters sim card would not work in the Trium, and as we could not take it back I decided to have the phone instead. After close inspection I found this phone offered many of the great features that you normally find in the more expensive phones. So what does this very small and stylish phone have to offer I hear ...

I decided to buy a cheep Pay as you go phone as my Nokkia 5110 was stolen at the weekend and I thought for the £40 it cost I may as well buy a Pay and Go package till the insurance came through from my contract phone. I only really stumbled across this phone by accident, you see my contract phone was stolen at the weekend. when I was told it would take 3 weeks to get my insurance money through I thought I may as well buy a cheep Pay and Go phone ...

Little Bundle of Fun

Advantages: Easy to use, small, light, cheerful
Disadvantages: No instruction manual with phone

What a clever little phone the Truim Mars is !! After deciding my old phone was like something out the dark ages, I went in search of a new phone. I looked for something stylish, small and light, with WAP capabilities, and was delighted to find this phone priced as competitively as it was - I paid £49.99 from a local electrical supplier. The nearest competitor was almost double this price !! I find it very easy to use. The WAP service is very easy ...
...features such as the predictive text and the easy to use phone book are brilliant, and makes text messaging a piece of cake. It also has a choice of cheerful little graphics on it's screen, which reflect the character of the phone. On the negative side, probably my only criticism would be the lack of instruction manual with it. A Vodafone service manual was provided, but it would've been handy to have had a clear user guide for the actual handset. ...

...Mars. I have seen other Mitsubishi Trium makes before and have had a play around with them. They looked very snazzy indeed. I came by the Trium Mars however and this make was even better! It was small and very light compared with my Alcatel. What intrigued me at first was that the phone was only being sold at a price of £39.99 UNBELIEVABLE! That is a real good deal as the phone has so many interesting features. I have now seen in shops however that ...

Seasoned phone tester impressed by small Mars

Advantages: WAP, vibrate, predictive text, easy menu, good screen, small size, changeable front and back parts, looks quite good, very good value, fairly solid, vast improvement on previous Mitsubishis. It's got all the features of a 3330.
Disadvantages: Keys aren't perfect, nor are key tones, and it has an aerial

I have just bought one of these phones, I have to say I feel I have got more than my money's worth. For £40 you would not expect to get a mobile that's not only got the usual features, but also WAP, vibrating call alert, games, T9 predictive text input and a menu system that actually works and is user-friendly, nor would you expect such a phone to be so small (although quite thick, it makes my 3210 look big). Furthermore, I had quite low expectations ...
...ask, you don't want to know.) Menu navigation is simple, thanks to the four-way 'joypad' in the centre below the display (thus making it suitable for left- or right-handed use.) At the main screen, each direction on the pad takes you to a different feature - the main menu, ring volume, tones or the phonebook, with an additional two configurable softkeys, set by default to the Internet and SMS (text messaging) menus. In fact, I would go as far as ...

The best WAP phone - Mitsubishi Trium Mars

Advantages: Great value for money, lots of features, and it's got WAP!
Disadvantages: Can't compose ring-tones or graphics.

When i first got the Trium Mars the first thing to strike me about this phone was that it was so small and light - ideal for fitting into coat pockets and small bags. Another thing was the fact that you are able to change the keypad cover to suit you, so it comes with an element of personalisation. The phone itself has many features, including WAP, which I have found to be of use, especially when I am away from my computer and I need to check E-mail. ...
...alarm clock, a scratchpad, a built-in handsfree kit (useful when topping up and typing in numbers) and, for those times of boredom, two entertaining games. Another point about this phone is its relative "cuteness" with the ability to change menu and standby screen graphics into Trium, Manga and Urban options. Here are just some of the superb features and specifications, which come the Trium Mars has to offer. I will try and go into as much detail ...

previously owned a Motorola am3180, but because of continuing problems and the fact that the phone isn't even MADE anymore, I decided to make a well overdue upgrade. I wanted to stay with Vodafone Pay As You Talk, who I've been with for over 3 years and who provide excellent service. Another factor to consider was that, if I'm going to bother upgrading at all, I might as well get my hands on the LATEST technology out there - yes, it's definetely ...

But pretty soon you'll be able to access everything that is available on the 'standard' World Wide Web. After much consideration and research, I decided that the beauty ...

How mobiles have changed over the last few years. From those huge brick-like jobbies and the huge suitcase sized batteries of the yuppy 80s to the slimline elegance of today's Nokia's & Ericssons. And not only has the design of these phones changed, but so too the technology. These days you can get a host of functions on even a basic phone that you'd be pushed to find on a basic laptop computer or PDA from a few years back. Games, address books, ...
...net, are now more or less standard features on a moby these days. So with all these wonderful features how does one decide which phone is best for him or her? Well in my case I've only every had two mobiles in my life, a lovely little Sagem 815pro and an Ericsson T28s. Both having their good & bad points but both very functional & good to use. However, I felt the time was ripe for another change, but rather than going the Nokia route I opted for ...

What a little smasher

Advantages: Small, efficient, cheap
Disadvantages: Sometimes a strain on the eyes

Ok so I’ve joined the 21st century and got myself a mobile phone! With my parents’ failing health and my love affair with the Internet I needed a way for them to be able to get in touch with me even when I was on line. I was considering another telephone line, when a friend suggested a mobile phone. That way I could be easily accessible even when I was away from the house. I have never been interested in having a mobile phone so I had ...
...I wanted something cheap, simple to operate and reliable – oh and small enough to fit into my handbag when I go out. I did the logical thing next. I logged on to Ciao to read some opinions of mobile phones. The Trium Mars was top of the Ciao’s top mobile phone list at the time so I decided to read some of the opinions. I took a cross section reading some from people who loved it and some for those who weren’t so keen. I decided ...

This is an old op, and since this lesson in pain I've bought a Nokia 3310 Like most of my ops, there's a story behind this. I feel as though I have to put it into context, so read on. In the middle of January, I was going on holiday. I was hoping that work would have been kind to me and let me keep the phone I'd been using at work. I wasn't planning on racking up some huge phone bills - it was more of a security thing. Plus, the work phone I was ...

I'd had a bit of a look around. Vodafone didn't have much in stock a week or so ago, and I didn't know where my local Telstra shop was, so Optus looked pretty good. In walks I. I knew there was two types of plans. A monthly plan and a pre paid. The monthly plan would let ...

Another mobile phone opinion

Advantages: Works abroad, reliable, long battery life
Disadvantages: Expensive to use abroad

Being the age I am, I've seen mobiles evolve from bricks (even concrete blocks) to matchboxes. I remember the salesman at the company I worked for in 1988 had a huge thing, wasn't even sure what it was when I first saw it. Then in '91, I bought my first, it was a tiny Sony, so cute. Mobiles still being associated with the rich and famous, people all around me wanted to hold it, touch it and droll over it. Occasionally I'd let them make a call. A ...
...one, and I'm no longer made a fuss of. Since '91 I've had a few others, Bosch, Nokia, Phillips etc, but certainly not replaced them as often as people do these days. So to my 5th phone, the Trium Mars, made by Mitsubishi. I was leaving England, my Bosch wouldn't work in Sweden, and mother wanted me to keep in touch so she bought me the Trium, and very happy I was too. She also bought one for herself. Not sure how much was paid, but it's on the Vodafone ...
