The Mitsumi 4802TE CD writer is a reasonable budget buy, It is quite complicated to set-up and can conflict with other devices, for example my Mitsumi CD 48x drive! I had to replace my CD ROM drive to get the writer to work, Once the drive is installed it works reliably and produces the results, It is now slow by today’s standards. Advantages: solid - cheap - used for all purposes
Disadvantages: not as quick as some on the market

This product is a real gem and has been excellent over the past 12 months that i have owned it. The price is very affordable - roughly £110 and for this you receive a comprehensive guide and copying software that can be used for copying audio and normal computer data. Even though the write speed is only 4x which is fairly slow it is solid and does not usually make errors as many of the other branded cdrw's. Really if you are a bit struck for cash ... Read review

Disadvantages: can't write "on the fly" very well

...have the latest version of Mitsumi CD writers, the Mitsumi 4804 TU external USB cd-writer, and so far it has been pretty good. It is fast and accurate, about 15 mins for an average job, however, even on my fast PC it is a bit tempramental when you burn straight from one CD to another, so you need to make a hard disc copy first. You need a CDr/w. You need one at a good price with good fucntion?.. then the only real choice is a misumi. Wait, before you read this, if you have LOTS of MONEY, go buy a Plextor,, You'll get the same service, but pay more for the sticker on the front. I recently purchased the Mitsumi cd r drive and have to say i was totally dissatisfied with it! It is merely an old hewlett packard model in a budget box with no frills and for £150 i would not call this a bargain considering the rival cd writers available at the moment at at such low prices! Hewlett Packard obviously didn't have the time to redecorate the looks of these writers as they still look the same as when they did when they were released ... Read review
