Advantages: Decent Range, Good Appliances Disadvantages: They lie, they're incompetent, they use hard sell!
...However, we thought that as Moben had been going so long, and they did seem on the face of it to offer a more tailored solution, we'd invite them round. We had a small kitchen, and we thought that their higher prices may be worthwhile if they could tailor-make their units to the exact measurements of our kitchen, and thier shop staff seemed to indicate all this and more was possible, and that they also had innovative accessories which could maximise ...

Advantages: A nice looking kitchen Disadvantages: extremely bad after sales service, bully tactics sales, rudeness on calling, unhelpfull staff.
I bought my Moben Kitchen in November 1999, after being 'bullied' into a decision! I was really happy with the results despite the high price. Being disabled the salesman, assured me that I could get the VAT back. Nearly two year on and I still have heard nothing from them about this.
Moben offer a complete service with all planning, designing, delivery and fitting included. Appliances come from companies such as: Neff, Leisure, Aga and Technic. ...

...once) that you sign a Moben kitchen contract!
When I was younger and naive I bought my first apartment. It was lovely and huge, in a nice part of NW London but needed lots of work doing to it. Well, not too much actually - a lick of paint, new carpets and a kitchen & bathroom. However when it comes to anything practical I am the worlds worst. I can hang a nail, change a light bulb or a plug and nothing else. So Moben, with their nice showrooms ...

Advantages: Kitchens appear good quality Disadvantages: Pushy salesman, economical with the truth, poor design service
The Moben 'designer' who came to give us a quote was purely a salesman. He basically knocked up his 'design' in about 10 minutes using a pen and paper - think back of a fag packet and you're on the right lines. Go to a company like Magnet or MFI and you get a 3D design so you can really visualise what they have in mind.
All the ideas we had were dismissed as being far too expensive, outdated or just not practical. A fridge-freezer? No chance. A ...

Advantages: They look nice in the showrooms Disadvantages: Everything else!
It's all true. I just practically threw this salesman, sorry 'designer' out my house.
Idiots!
It was like having an old school upvc window salesman round. Wouldn't let the hard sale drop for a minute. Contradicting himself left right and centre but still wouldn't drop the act. All he came up with (after several hours) was a pencil drawing that my Nan could have improved on. No itemisation, just a random number at the bottom. £15K. I even had ...

...UPDATE
Had no response from Moben despite other letters... all became clear when they popped up on Watchdog!!
Since then... my double oven has broken down twice... the first time took 6 weeks to get fixed and the second time we gave up and bought the element and fitted it ourselves. The controls in the cooker hood have failed four times - and the service guy apologises every time and has told us there is a design fault. The controls ...

...priority.
We liked the look of Moben kitchens, in particular the flexibility of the cabinets, so we eventually decided to go for one, despite the salesman "designer" chappie who came round. In the end I ended up designing the kitchen myself. However, we did like the look of the product and in particular the corner cabinets.
Unfortunately, the fitter messed up and 3 months later we discovered a leak. To cut a long story short, the whole kitchen ...

...a new Kitchen, saw a Moben showroom in our local High Street, called in, kitchens looked good, sales lady was pleasant so we booked an appointment for a salesman to visit us the next evening to draw up a plan and quote us a price.
He arrived, showed us the samples, we decided upon a kitchen design and he designed it. So far so good.
'Lets talk about price' he said. After a few scriblings he jotted down a figure (£6800), turning the paper around ...

Most awful experience of hard sell. Arrived at 10am saturday for '2hr appointment' did not leave until after 3pm. Continually 'trashed' other kitchen retailers. Felt salesman would not leave until contract signed, although pressured into wanting deposit on debit/credit card I only supplied a cheque which i latter cancelled as cancelled contract next working day but did not trust there staff - multiple letters and phone calls to cancel kitchen - that said didnt want it to begin with!

I had Moben out last Saturday (7th August 2004) to quote for a new kitchen. Rodney from Torquay seemed like a nice bloke. Price was a bit high but he said "have the surveyor out and if you don't like what he says then cancel. I need £100 deposit but promise you that if you do cancel the order we NEVER keep the deposit and you will get it back immediately. We gave him £100 but next day we decided against the new kitchen as £7200 was more than we could ...

Quick review of Moben Kitchens Review ofMoben Kitchensby

I was recommended a Moben kitchen by my mother who had a kitchen fitted a couple of years ago. Although I was a bit worried by some of the comments on this website, I found Moben excellent. The quality is excellent and I found the whole service very good. There were a couple of tweaks that had to be made but that I think that is par-for-the-course with this type of thing. We found them excellent value and would have no problem in recommending them to friends! In fact, if Moben are still around in 20 years time I will probably recommend them to my own daughter!

Advantages: Helpful Designer/Salesman Disadvantages: Abusive head office staff
I booked an appointment with Moben Kitchens at the 2004 Ideal Home Show and was given a leaflet stating an offer of “50% off all kitchen ranges” and a “free dinner service”. The designer/salesman who came around was very helpful and not at all pushy, I liked the design and although the quote was a bit high I was happy with the design so signed up. Regarding the “special 50% offer” he hadn’t seen this before and said he would go away and try and get ...

Advantages: Fitted within four days, no DIY disasters Disadvantages: Having to live on junk food for nearly a week!
I had a moben kitchen fitted last week and it is FANTASTIC! All in all it took four weeks from sale to installation. The Salesman Pat came to our house one Friday evening and did a plan of our kitchen and offered practical advice about siting our appliances for the best fit, he offered us the best value cupboard finishes for our budget, if he was hardselling I didn't notice. He gave us time to consider the deal that was written up but we didn't falter ...

Advantages: Excellent quality. Experienced fitters. Good communication throughout. Disadvantages: None
...had our kitchen fitted by Moben and can honestly say that we are thrilled to bits with it. The whole process ran like clockwork and every person we dealt with within this company was courteous and highly proffessional. After we had placed our order we were horrified to come across all the bad reviews on this site and were truly dreading what was to become of our kitchen. We were pleasantly surprised when all dates and times were strictly adhered to. ...

Advantages: None Disadvantages: Poor fitting, No customer or aftersales service, communication extremely difficult
...Fitters are self-employed and Moben has no control over them or their workmanship. Our planned 5-day kitchen contract ended up taking 4 months to complete. Just one of the problems was that 17 of 22 cupboard doors were damaged as the original handles were not fitted straight. Moben had wanted to just straighten these badly fitted items on my solid oak doors and then fit a metal ring on the inside so that the drilled holes would not show. With a HUGE ...
