Advantages Advantages Unmatchable sound quality, unbelievable power and capabilities…

Disadvantages Disadvantages Hmm… Mmm… 'flimsy'?... The cost (for some)

Introduction I purchased a set of these headphone in white, just over a month ago off of amazon for a rather excessive (are what seemed to be at the time) £150. I actually purchased them due to what I had heard from people about the sheer quality of the brand, one person even said to me “I had not heard music until I had listened to it through a set of Dr.Dre Beats Audio headphones”, the question is, was he right? Or are they a set of overpriced headphones which are a obvious scenario of you pay a premium for an exclusive brand? I have organised my rather lengthy review into a selection of ... more

Advantages Advantages They make the music experience more enjoyable and have some great little tricks to them

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

Dre’s Beats – Solo [HD] Now, we all know (if you read my reviews) that I am very passionate about music. I listen to it pretty much all day everyday. Since all my earphones end up dying after 2 months, I decided I needed something that was going to last me longer, and I realised that to get this I would have to spend a fair bit of money. Now I didn’t go out and buy Dre’s Beats just because of the name, or because everyone else has them or even because I thought they might make me look cool. I went and bought them to enjoy my music, and these headphones allow me to do just that. What do these ... more

Advantages Advantages Great sound, good bass, looks cool.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Very overpriced, flimsy, too mainstream looking.

Beats are pretty much one of the most famous headphone brands now. But they're not really worth the hype, or the price. They have a very cheap construction, they feel like they'll break so easily. They aren't very comfortable at all, due to a lack of padding, and the fact the earcups are far too small, the fact I'm 15, and they still don't feel comfortable. When I took them out of the box, they looked like a pair of £15 headphones, my £15-20 Sony headphones look higher quality, they don't look as good design wise, but they certainly would take a bigger beating. The cord is removable, I don't ... more

Advantages Advantages Great sound quality, brilliant design.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite pricey.

I really got sucked in by the design of these headphones they're definitely the nicest looking ones I've seen I was obviously concerned that I was buying into some sort of hype though because of the fact they were all massively endorsed by various celebrities and had a pretty high price tag. I caved and picked them up from the Apple Store and they cost me £139.99 it seems now that they have swapped them for the HD version which has a higher price tag of around £169.95 currently. I went for the black but they had white ones available as well. The first thing I noticed when getting them was the ... more

Advantages Advantages Comfortable, Amazing sound quality, Fashionable

Disadvantages Disadvantages Cable is easily broken, Slightly overpriced

I purchased the Dr. Dre Solo Beats in red when i was in New York recently. I had heard a lot about these headphones, both good and bad. I wanted to experience them for myself and bought the official product from the Apple Store. Sound Quality For a compact pair of headphones, they have an immensely powerful and clear sound quality. From previously owning a simple pair of iPod earphones, the difference in sound quality is incredible. I felt immersed in the sound. Comfort These headphones are also relatively comfortable, however, i found that after long periods of listening, they began to feel ... more

Advantages Advantages very very very good sound!

Disadvantages Disadvantages too expencive, and can be uncomfortable

My boyfriend got me the white Beats Solo for my 18th birthday. Im not going to go on about how good the packaging is etc. I am just goin to get straight to talking about the headphones, because at the end of the day its the headphones you are going to wear on your head, not the box. The headphones themselves are very stylish, shiny and have that overall luxury feel and apparently are very durable and hard to scratch or break. (luckily i haven't been misfortunate enough to drop them, but you can check out some videos on the actual website - www.beatsbydre.com - which explains it). The sound is ... more

Advantages Advantages Portable, High Quality , Good looking

Disadvantages Disadvantages Don't sit to well on head

I purchased these headphones around 6 months ago and i have to say in my opinion these were a brilliant purchase. I find the sound quality on these headphone's where better then i had ever expected. You can hear the music the way the artist intended. The artists voice can be heard clearly even in heavy rock music. The Headphones can hold bass brilliantly. The headphones are fairly comfortable but since they don't cover the hole ear they don't sit to well. The padding on the headphones are very soft and in my opinion is perfect for keeping your ears comfortable even when wearing them for long ... more

    Advantages Advantages fashionable, great sound

    Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive

When I first saw the headphones worn in the latest music videos I thought it was just another bad product promoted by a celeb. The fact the company was asking £179 for the headphones made me wonder how good they could actually be. To my suprise the headphones are really good and if you have the money they will definitely act as a great upgrade from your ipod earphones. The music sounds richer and you can hear elements of the song that you would have previously missed. When I compared them to similar bose models the music seemed to have a little more bass and sounded more complete. It's hard to ... more

Advantages Advantages Sound Quality, Design & Looks, Case & Accesories,

Disadvantages Disadvantages Build Quality, Grease Marks, Value for Money,

I had the opportunity to review the Beats by Dr.Dre (solo HD). Let me start off with saying that these headphones are very flashy and appealing, also quite expensive. I have been using and developing an observation about these headphones for around 3 months now and I now have my full opinion about them. The first thing i noticed when i brought them home is that the boxing is very quality. It comes in about a 12"x4" white box with a magnetic strip that holds it together. When you open the box it has 2 sections to it. On the left side, the container holds the warranty, owners manual, and a ... more
