Advantages: Delicious bread without such a gaping hole in the bottom Disadvantages: Ingredients bucket a bit stiff to manouver
I have had my original Morphy Richards breadmaker for two years and it was still in good working order but when I saw a new model in Robert Dyas, I had to go and investigate. The new model on display was boasting a drop down paddle which meant no more gaping holes in your bread after you have removed it from the tin. That has to be a plus!
The fact that the price had been reduced from £70 to just under £50 swayed my decision. My current which model ... ...I unpacked this very good looking silver machine, I found an instruction book, guarantee card (for two years) and the measuring cup and spoons. The instruction book is very clear and is full of interesting recipes which include cake and jam. There are a list of baking cycle times and you can make a fast loaf in 1 hour should you wish. A normal loaf will take about 3 hours.
This breadmaker is a little bulkier than my last machine and bakes a 1.5lb ...

Advantages: Looks good in my kitchen! Disadvantages: Fussy with ingredients.....
...just before christmas my old Morphy Richards one expired (after 9 years - so I couldn't complain!) In the end I decided on the Morphy Richards 48268 (as against the Panasonic that friends have raved about).
THE REASONS:
Financially (a big reason) it was £42 as oppossed to over £75 for the panasonic one. I liked the idea of a drop down blade, means that there is less of a hole ripped out of your bread (happened to my last breadmaker as it got old).
... ...worth the extra money - especially as I feel capable of tipping them in when it beeps
I read somewhere that it takes 3hrs for a loaf (I never bother with the fast bake as it never seems worth while) as against about 4 for the panasonic. Important to me as I put on a loaf on at breakfast time (about 8am) and it is then finished in time to be tipped out (after resting for 5 mins) and can cool (making it sooo much easier to cut) in time for lunch at ...

Advantages: stylish, square tall loaf, fastbake, easy to use Disadvantages: square tall loaf
We got this replacement breadmaker for our previous M-R fastbake, which was slightly bigger, but had become broken after 3 years of weekly baking. We ended up with the smaller one because we used nectar points to get it, and this was the only breadmaker we could find in the redemption scheme. However, the different sized loaf isn't really a problem, it just feels unusual lying it on its side to cut (having a curved crust and flat top). however, apart ... ...have one other minor quibble, so I'll get it our of the way before describing the machine in more detail, it makes a big thing about having a drop down blade. If you are new to breadmakers this will mean nothing to you, but as the blade is the thing that mixes the loaf, and therefore remains in place during the baking, it provides a hole in the bottom of the finished loaf, not a big problem, just a bit ugly. however, this blade is hinged, and is ...

My previous Breville Breadmaker wore out after about 6 or 7 years of using it twice a week, so I needed a new one.
I bought this from Asda for £42, but now I wish I hadn't been so impulsive.
My old Breville machine had the horizontal loaf tin, but this one has a square, vertical one.
Now matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get anywhere near the quality of loaf that I used to get from my Breville.
In the end, I probably used it for about 3 months ... ...just £20 out of Lidl.
This one has been relegated to the cupboard under the stairs for use as a backup in case the other one breaks, or if we suddenly have a demand for a lot of bread!
I must admit the square loaf is useful for sandwiches, because the slices fit perfectly in my lunchbox.
However, the texture of the bread, compared with that from my previous machine was just slightly disappointing.
Don't get me wrong - it makes good bread, but ...

Advantages: Versatile and simple to use Disadvantages: It takes up a lot of space (but I guess most breadmakers would!)
I bought this machine as it was reasonably priced and very versatile. Not only will it mix, knead and bake your bread for you, but you can use a dough setting to make your own rolls, cobs etc to bake in the oven. It will also make cakes and jams. After I bought mine and my Mum tried it - she bought one too and makes a scrummy malt loaf with hers!

The control panel is clear and easy to use. There are 12 different settings (although I mainly use basic and wholewheat). The instruction booklet is comprehensive and has a good choice of recipes. I have been able to adapt some and use others from other sources with equal success. ...

I bought this Bread maker for my Dad for his birthday, however he simply eats the bread, but doesn't make it! I bought it from Amazon for £69.99, and received it within 3 days, which was excellent.

Advantages: Fast easy and Tastes great Disadvantages: None and this time
IWas bought this for my birthday because I got in the habit of making bread and this has to be the easiest why I know how.
It is much easier then making it yourself, it comes with a great recipe book and step by step instructions.
Also included are measures to make the preparation that little bit easier then it already is.
All you have to do is follow the recipe step by step pour all the ingredients into the pull out bowl and then put the bowl ... ...bread maker does the rest.
It mixes the bread it makes the yeast rise and then it cooks the bread for the best results. And all this takes only 3 hours.
But there are always recipes if you are in a hurry around one hour for fresh bread can't be bad.
But if you fancy a change then why not bake a cake instead or make some jam. Yes that's Jam you also have some recipes to make your own home made jam to go on your fresh bake bread.
And as an added ...

Advantages: None over other machines. Disadvantages: Larger holes after removing hook
We have been using breadmaking machines for 10 years.
Needing a replacement machine we liked the idea of a drop down dough hook, which hopefully would alleviate the one problem with these machines, the hole in the bottom of the loaf.
However, after two weeks of use, about 6 loaves, I would regard this feature as a total failure.
The hook is a loose fit on the drive spindle, and the hook has so far been well impregnated in the loaf on every occasion, ...

I got bought this bread maker as i wanted to be able to make bread without messing around! its really good as you can do a fastbake in an hour and 10 minutes. You just put the mix in and off it goes.
