...to source one at the Mothercare summer sale at half the normal price and only paid £66 for it and another £35 for the rain cover. A bargain considering what I got!
When delivered, I found the box very heavy and was a bit put off at first. However, a lot of the weight was the sturdy packaging and once unpacked, I assembled the stoller within 20 minutes aand was pleasantly surprised at the sturdy, roomy, neat, functional stroller before me.
This ... ...would hesitate to call the Mothercare Phoenix Tandem compact, it is rather bulky when folded with the hoods on and the bumper bars, but does fold in one easy action and has an automatic clip to hold it all together once folded. The carry handle on the side does help to lift it, but lifting should be kept to a minimum as it is fairly heavy.
I noted with interest that the plastic bits were made by Graco for Mothercare, another mark of quality. The ...

...overpriced cost of £34.99 from Mothercare or as I later found out for £25 in Toys r Us.
Room for improvement:
There is no such thing as a perfect product, we all find little faults and room for improvements regardless of how well it has been made.
1: Could come supplied with a rain cover for a little extra, rather than pay £34.99 and then find out a few months later that I could have got one for £10 less.
2: The back seat would be of more use ... ...flat, allowing for a baby who has just got to the stage where they don’t want to lay down all the time, but doesn’t have full support to be fully upright.
3: The rear harness could be improved by adding a removable head hugger to allowing padding between the baby’s face and the harness, preventing rubbing or lowered so it avoids that facial area completely.

We bought this product at the full price of £129.99 (minus 10% voucher). Having already had a three-wheeler from the same company, which we thought was very stylish and felt sturdy and high quality, I was dissapointed at the overall quality. It feels light and doesn't feel as safe, however don't read this wrong - it is a safe piece of equipment.
The box arrived and we unpacked it. Again, I have to compare to one I have had already - we had to attach ... ...and we really didn't want to take to a new buggy with the force of a 6'3" dad and a hammer. Somehow it feels like this could have gone terribly wrong!
For £129.99, it excluded a rain cover which did not make any sense considering where we live! To be offered a discount on the rain shield when you purchased the item would be more logical. ...a foot muff or as mothercare called it a apron. My two year old refused to have it on. So I found that to be pretty useless.
The buggy is dapper, green and grey suedette, with hoods supplied for both seats.
It is very easy to put up and down and if I can do it anyone can.
It goes in the boot of our car easily (we have a punto), though it takes all the room so we can't get any shopping.
It is easy to steer, the front seat is for babies older than ... ...The back seat is suitable for newborns plus.
The front seat does recline if your older baby/toddler is tierd, but I found that when it is reclined that it limits the other babies leg room. Both seats only go up or recline in one position.
I didn't have any problems tackling curbs or getting it into the house. If your like me , who has a tiny hall this buggy is perfect.I am not sure I would try any steps on my own.

This buggy is definately a smooth ride for the kids but is is incredibly heavey and hard to steer. I found it really long which was useless for weaving in and out of aisles in smaller shops or avoiding people on the street. The seats are directly behind eachother so if you have an inquisitive younger child at the back they will be stuck stairing at the seat in front, espacially if the covers are up.
When folded it will take up your whole boot (I ... ...shopping bags. However there are few double buggys which will eave you much space anyway.
If you are after a buggy for all terrain, with loads of storage and comfy seats than this buggy is for you. It has good wheels, good space for the kids and is easy to open and close.
If you want to use your buggy for nipping in and out of shops and general ease of use then go for an umbrella fold which is longer when folded but is much smaller when in use. ...
