Advantages Advantages Good size ranges, very leakproof, roomy fit, great for well boosted night nappies

Disadvantages Disadvantages Bulky, no good for prefolds or pad folded nappies, latex in binding can irritate

Motherease Air Rika wraps (now called Air-Flow) are made by Motherease in Canada. They are part of the best selling nappy system in Canada, so they must be doing something right!! They are the waterproof outer that goes over the absorbent inner of a reusable nappy system. They come in a variety of sizes, from the tiny XS (for premmie and weeny babies) to the XL which fits my 3 and a half year old on the widest setting. They come in 2 patterns, a pinky beige pawprint and a lovely blue and greeny whales print, and also a variety of pastel shades, and the ever popular creamy white. The new price ... more

    Advantages Advantages No leaks, Babyproof

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Baggy Look

After suffering with leaking nappy wraps for a while, I came across The Nappy Lady website (great site, but that's another story), and I had the Mother-ease wraps recommended to me. I ordered two - a more traditional style velcro one (Rikki), and an Air Flow wrap (sometimes called Air Rika). All Mother-ease wraps are designed for shaped nappies, or folded terries, they are too loose and have no leg gussets to make them suitable for prefolds (unless you have quite a solid child that can hold it in place by filling out the wrap more). I took one look at how much material was involved with the ... more

Advantages Advantages Popper-fastened: baby-toddler proof, and breathable

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not for prefold nappies

This wrap is made by Mother-Ease, in Canada, but is available in the UK via different retailers on internet (eg. Twinkle on the web). They are available in five sizes. They come in white (£7.50), plain colours or prints (£7.75). I bought a small one, to try, and I am now using two medium ones that I found second-hand in ukparents (very good value: medium size, £3 each incl p&p whereas the new ones are £7.50). They are made with brushed polyester with waterproof polyurethane laminate, which is very light and easy to dry. They are fastening with plastic poppers in three positions at leg and two ... more

Advantages Advantages Softest, most leak proof, best fitting wrap

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I have used a wide variety of washable nappies and wraps and this wrap is by far the best. With a shaped fitted nappy underneath, I have had very few leaks and those have only been when nappy has been on too long or part of nappy has been sticking out. It works well with terry squares too. It comes in white or patterned and is made of a lovely, soft PUL. It adjusts at the waist and legs with poppers, to ensure a comfortable fit. It can be washed at 60 with the nappies and dries quickly. It's best not to soak or tumble dry as this may affect the waterproofing. I have used mine with two children ... more

Advantages Advantages Leak-proof. Slim fitting. Cute patterns.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

I was recommended MotherEase nappy wraps by a man in Boots, while I was buying terry squares. I was still pregnant and didn't know about the vast array of modern nappy wraps available so was just going to get some old-fashioned rubber knickers. I'm so glad that man took the time to recommend them. As soon as I got home, I ordered some off the internet. I started out with two plain white and two print wraps. I then patiently waited for my baby to arrive so I could start using them. They fit perfectly over any kind of nappy. Either terry squares or shaped popper fastening nappies. They are ... more

Advantages Advantages Consistent, versatile, good quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages Don't work with prefolds, just a little boring!

Motherease Air Rika/Air Flow wraps are not exciting. In fact, they are rather boring, being either white or a variety of drap prints. However, like sensible shoes and sensible cars, one doesn't buy them for their looks, one buys them for their performance. The 'wrap' is an essential part of a two-part cloth nappy system, the modern version of plastic pants but far easier to use and comfortable for baby to wear. They fit over every shaped nappy and folded terry that I've ever used (and I have a vast collection!) and the only thing they aren't good for is pad-folded terries and prefolds, as they ... more
