Advantages Advantages Reliable, sturdy, does what the best can

Disadvantages Disadvantages Does what the best can, but noticeably slower

I rarely write phone reviews, mainly because now with the android and apple markets, the sky is the limit with what mobile devices can do. A mobile phone has ceased to just be what its name implies, and has become a small rectangular P.A., storing all details about you, your friends, what everyone is up to, and opening gateways galore to the wonderful digital world. As companies compete with each other to produce the best handset and various network providers compete with each other to provide the best monthly tariffs and pay as you go charges, it's easy to get completely lost in what you're ... more

Advantages Advantages Rugged, great value for money

    Disadvantages Disadvantages motoBlur, weak camera

Allow me to go on record for saying that there is no such thing as an iPhone killer. Remember when the Samsung Omnia came out and everyone was marvelling at how it was going to destroy the iPhone 3G? Well, it didn't, and that is because all phones that come out after the iPhone did were all copies. Some were good, but mostly were bad, and the Omnia was an example of a bad copy, having to use a stylus to perform accurate touch screen input, pathetic accelerometer sensitivity and a horrifying operating system (Windows Mobile 6.5. Shudder). Google's Android operating system came closest, and in ... more

Advantages Advantages Really easy to use: touch screen is not too sensitive, easy to navigate, big screen, very stylish.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Unreliable battery life.

The Motorola DEFY is a very good phone. It is an Android smartphone made by Motorola and has the added feature of being a high durable phone. Motorola promotes it as being 'life proof' (dust proof and water and scratch resistant). My overall opinion of the features the DEFY has is very good. As it is a touch screen phone, the importance of a sensitive screen is highly necessary. I feel that Motorola have got this perfected as it is not overly sensitive, however is still sensitive enough to be able to pick up touch through a protective screen (This is something I have bought extra to the phone) ... more

3 Stars Quick Review on Motorola Defy Review with images 29/10/2012

Advantages Advantages Exterior is rugged, modern look, multiple uses

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Malfunctions easily

I got my Motorola Defy over a year ago and still have it to this day. I originally ordered it from a New Zealand website which ordered them from overseas, an asian country if I remember correctly - unsure of where exactly. When it first arrived I was in low! Too scared to do anything with it, that's how beautiful it was. It is easy to use - has awesome features almost identical to the iPhone except it ran on Android instead. The scratch resistance is great, waterproof option is also awesome (definitely one of my party tricks) and the added benefits of the phone are awesome. However, my phone ... more

Advantages Advantages Durable, You don't have to worry about dropping it, Android

Disadvantages Disadvantages Internal Headphone broke and had to be sent back

Brilliant phone, everything works very well. Takes a long time to set up and get the hang of it because of the amount of features is has, but after that it is a very simple phone and easy to use and view text messages. I think if you are thinking of getting a phone within the price range of Motorola's and HTC's i believe it is definitely the best one to get, because of the durability, that the motorola has, the screen is alot harder to scratch, also the back of the phone has a lock on it, so as long as its locked (which it always should be) the battery will not come out and you have to spend ... more

    4 Stars Amazing phone. 15/06/2011

Advantages Advantages screen lock, durable, somewhat waterproof, sleek, good audio quality.

Disadvantages Disadvantages screen glitches, sometimes slow, hard to control.

The first thing I thought of when I held the Motorola DEFY is.. "Man! This thing is light weight!" This phone is very durable and a little waterproof! So if you're always somehow dropping your phone; this is for you! Don't be fooled by the weight of it, this little monster can take a lot. The design is very sleek and clean. The camera is 5 megapixels, 2592Ñ…1944 pixels, auto-focus, and LED flash. The touch screen sometimes is very glitchy and hard to control, but only when you turn the Wi-fi on. It comes with basic apps like Youtube, UNO, DriveSmart, Google Maps, Browser, all of your social ... more
