Advantages: cheap, quite attractive, good for beginner Disadvantages: quite large, lacks features
...good value option. The Motorola V2288 cost £60 including delivery from orange.co.uk and came with £20 of talk time, which I thought was a pretty good deal.
LOOKS
To be honest the Motorola V2288 isn't the snazziest phone on the block, although it's a lot nicer looking than some of mobile phones I've seen. Its dimensions are 130mm by 47mm by 27mm - it won't fit as easily in the palm of your hand as a little Nokia, but it does fit snuggly in my pocket. ... ...either!
SUMMARY
The Motorola V2288 is quite a basic phone, but what do you expect for around £50? It looks fairly decent and has a lot of useful features, whilst lacking the trendiness and additional options available with little Nokias and suchlike. As a mobile phone virgin this phone is a good starting point for me, and I'm sure we'll be happily attached for quite some time. Whether I will have the nerve to take it out of the house with the pink ...

...about my thoughts on my Motorola V2288e mobile phone. This isn’t because I am a new user of the handset – it’s just due to the fact that I’ve had so many pros and cons during our fourteen months together. Usually when posting a review to the Ciao database, I know that the product or service deserves and merits the rating that I will give so freely at the end of my review. This instance is different though….throughout my piece I will be using my thoughts ... ...had seen. In my opinion Motorola is a good name and I felt that the phone would provide me with good service.
GETTING IT HOME, UNPACKED AND CONNECTED
I’m always like a big kid whenever I get a new toy and this was no exception. I arrived back into my hotel room and eagerly unpacked the box. The contents were packed inside very snugly and instead of using plastic packaging the items were held in ‘cardboard egg box’ holders – much more eco-friendly ...

...on me and pulled a Motorola V2288 out of the loaner cupboard. Well, the least I can do to repay the kindness is to give it the once-over and review it for my fellow Ciaoistas, so here we go.
First impressions are of a smooth, rounded sort of phone, but quite big, at least compared to the one I’m used to. A quick comparison, made with the help of my own phone’s manual, comes out like this:
Weight – 140g against the Seimens 99g
... ...against 46mm
Depth - 30mm against 21mm
That’s enough comparing. It’s pretty big, OK? Let’s get down to doing stuff.
The V2288 is a dual band WAP enabled phone incorporating an FM radio for use with a stereo headset. This headset comes with a microphone attached. Not, as you may foolishly assume, for the purposes of Karaoke and annoying fellow travellers on the train, but so that one accessory acts as your hands-free kit and your ...

Advantages: They some good deals about because the phone is so crap. Disadvantages: It looks disgusting!, Value, lack of features
The Motorola V2288 was one of the first mobile phones to have a built in Fm radio… Okay I admit it that’s the only reason I bought the phone. I bought mine from eBay an online auction site for very little, £44 to be exact. Value. Theses phones retail at very little. They started off at £79.99 and then went to £69.99 and the £59.99. I believe that they can be bought for less than that now but I wouldn’t recommend one. Value isn’t ... ...is the same as the Motorola M3788e, one of the cheapest phones out!
Ease of use.
This phone is quite easily to use. The instruction manual is quite simple though I have only read it once, out of interest really. Reliability.
In the short time I had my phone I had no problems crop up. I sold this phone to a friend for £45 and he has had no problems. Motorola phones are generally reliable… probably because threes nothing to them. Wap.

Advantages: WAP, rubber wraps, radio Disadvantages: Big clunky design, no games, rubbish ringtones
Motorola really know how to make a good phone. It is incredibly feature-packed for a £40 (with a free Orange Out-Here pack) phone. This phone is on Orange and so will have slightly different features to the standard Motorola V.2288. I will list and comment on all the features of the phone. WAP Internet Access- The WAP part of the phone is great. It is simple to use and easy to configure. You can set one neat feature allowing the phone to auto-disconnect ... ...they can send ringtones to Motorola V.2288s. This is false. Don't bother as I have tried and it is a con. Phoning- The main purpose of a mobile phone is to phone people and the V.2288 excels at this. It is easy to use and has excellent reception. Radio- The V.2288 has a gimmick which no other phone has. It is a decent radio built into the phone. By pressing a button on the side you can listen to any radio stations on the move. The phone comes with ...

...turned out I bought the Motorola V2288e which he recommended I get in the first place, but I didn’t know that at the time.
Me and my wee phone are inseparable nowadays, and we’ve grown quite fond of each other. Although less hi-tech than say a Nokia, the V2288e carries out all my communication needs with ease. Weighing in at 140g, it’s a fairly small, sleek beauty with 3 hours talk time and 5 days standby.
The Just Talk – ... ...include 2 rubber wraps to personalise the phone for individual moods. What mood I would need to be in to use the pink wrap I’ll never know. So as it is, my phone is either sleeved in blue or wrapless. Interesting idea though.
Finding my way around the phone is fairly simple. Thanks in main to the quick access menu. This gives instant access to the most frequently used features – whether it be the text inbox, message editor or ringer ...

Motorola V2288e
I was devastated when I lost my Nokia 7110e provided exclusively for Orange customers, and as I had no insurance was looking for the cheapest option available to me. This is when this nifty little thing came to light.
The V2288e again is specific to Orange customers although is available to other providers also, but the model number is just V2288. What the difference is I am not actually to sure? I think it is something to do with ... ...Orange customers have an automatic 12-month block on WAP sites that have not been approved by Orange. This block is easily removed by calling to speak to them and the process is free.
The handset itself is sturdy and robust and is of a fair size, it is not to big yet it is not to small, it is quite slim and fits into your pockets or handbag very well. It does, however, have an aerial which is a feature I got used to not having when I had my Nokia ...

When I received the phone the following day, I instantly ripped open the box, to find my new phone beckoning before me, gleaming with all its beauty, along with 2 covers, that somewhat resembles scuba diving material, hands free kit, a clip, along with a user guide, and not to forget your vital sym card.

...and got this phone, the Motorola V2288e. Of course I probably would have been better off plumping for the Nokia 3310 or 3330 which everyone in the world seems to have, but I resent paying £100 for something which I'm only going to use to send messages. And of course mobile phone prices have rocketed since the whole 3G license fiasco, so I resent paying money for something I could've got cheaper last year. So anyway, this one only cost £50 (from Argos) ... ...a quick look at the Motorola website reveals a multitude of different coloured covers if you're willing to pay £6.99 for a bit of rubber. The thing is that the cover of the phone can't be removed, just covers fitted on front of it. This is OK with the rubber ones but the hard covers make the phone look a bit more clumsy. If anything the screen is a little small, considering the phone has WAP internet access you would've hoped for a bit more viewing ...

...the very latest available from Motorola is very hip and trendy to be seen with. It is fairly light and small, and is just the right size for pockets.
The phone covers and the phone itself are very durable, as they are made out of strong materials (except the glow-in-the-dark case which is still durable but made out of rubber).
The reception quality is absolutely phenomenal. I haven't had a single difficulty picking up signals and it is always easy ... ...(WAP).
The battery does tend to run out quickly if you play the games a lot (and if you are anything like me, once you have them on there, you will need to recharge quite a bit!) but this isn't a problem if you avoid playing them when it is necessary.
The only two disadvantages that the phone has are:
1 - It isn't a Nokia. It is generally only Nokias that are seen to be cool and trendy, despite the fact that this one would be a lot more popular ...

Introduction ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Motorola V2288, not the best looking of phones but still a damn good phone in my opinion. The phone is available on BTCellnet pay and go for £40, so if your after a cheap phone then the V2288 is for you.
Features ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Motorola V2288 comes with FM radio which is a saviour on bus and train journeys until I have enough money for a mini-disc. The V2288 also has WAP which is nothing ... ...it only has selected websites. For example you couldn’t go to the Ciao website on it. The V2288 also has 3 games, Bricks, Towers of Hanniai and Baccarat. Bricks is the best, you have a pallet which you bounce a ball off which has to hit bricks. Towers of Hanniai is a puzzle game. Baccarat is a very boring card game. The games aren’t exactly snake but there still something to do to waste time.

...phone for just £40- the Motorola V2288. Undoubtedly, this is quite a large selling point: in spite of the fact the phone is quite big, it is also very aestetically pleasing to the eye, with its curves something Motorola's advertising department were quick to pick up on. I have found this phone model to be both easy to use and very reliable. I have had no problems with the actual phone although I have had to replace the hands-free set(earphones and mic).
Although you have to navigate in order to find some of the less popular options (eg details about the network you are on) there is a simple menu accessible by the touch of a special button on the phone. This menu has the following options :

*Message editor(allows you to write text messages to send to another mobile)
*Mute phone
*Read messages
*Ringer on/off
*Received calls
The battery meter is a good feature-with this I have not had to charge my phone every night. This is what I used to have to do, unsure of how much charge remained on the phone.
There are other features on the phone such as games, calculator, and an alarm.
The best feature in my opinion is the ...

I got this phone about a year ago on my 14th birthday. I went into the BT Cellnet shop to look for a phone and all I saw was Nokia. Nokia, Nokia and oh yeah, Nokia. I wanted something different, something without snake on it and people asking you: can I have a go on snake, lets here the Trigger Happy TV mobile tune please!!!
So I looked around a bit more and this came to my eye. It was stylish, cool, had internet access and had FM radio including ... ...this phone. But this wasn't just a lucky day this was a miricle. I was only £40!! I couldn't believe it.
So when I got this phone I took it round my friends house. Well he had a..... can u guess?? Yes your right a Nokia 3310. He was bragging over what he had so I said to him: have u got the internet on your phone. Well he was speechless (for once).
This is sure to annoy your friends and make them as jealous as can be. And at that price there's ...
