Advantages Advantages cheap, quite attractive, good for beginner

Disadvantages Disadvantages quite large, lacks features

Being the cheapskate that I am, having finally decided to get a mobile phone I wanted a good value option. The Motorola V2288 cost £60 including delivery from orange.co.uk and came with £20 of talk time, which I thought was a pretty good deal. LOOKS To be honest the Motorola V2288 isn't the snazziest phone on the block, although it's a lot nicer looking than some of mobile phones I've seen. Its dimensions are 130mm by 47mm by 27mm - it won't fit as easily in the palm of your hand as a little Nokia, but it does fit snuggly in my pocket. I also like the fact that the phone is almost oval-shaped ... more

Advantages Advantages Ability to store text messages, easy to set up

Disadvantages Disadvantages Odd batteries need replacing every 12 months, chunky size, lurid covers

So what does that title mean? Gay / Straight / Both? Left wing / Right Wing / Green? Cats / Dogs? You know the answer to that one! The reason for the title is that at this precise moment in time I am not sure about my thoughts on my Motorola V2288e mobile phone. This isn’t because I am a new user of the handset – it’s just due to the fact that I’ve had so many pros and cons during our fourteen months together. Usually when posting a review to the Ciao database, I know that the product or service deserves and merits the rating that I will give so freely at the end of my review. This instance is ... more

    Advantages Advantages It works

Disadvantages Disadvantages Big, boring and basic.

It wasn’t my fault…I just had a little accident, honest! Fact of the matter is that I have cracked the face on my lovely little Seimens S35i, and the poor wee mite has had to go to the phone hospital to be made better. Now the last time I had to make an insurance claim on my phone, I waited so long that Vodafone, in their embarrassment, waived the excess and gave me a free upgrade. Hence the Seimens S35i. That time they gave me a loan phone so appalling that I gave it back and did without for a few weeks (Hey, I remember the days when we ALL did without. It can be done!) This time ... more

Advantages Advantages They some good deals about because the phone is so crap.

Disadvantages Disadvantages It looks disgusting!, Value, lack of features

The Motorola V2288 was one of the first mobile phones to have a built in Fm radio… Okay I admit it that’s the only reason I bought the phone. I bought mine from eBay an online auction site for very little, £44 to be exact. Value. Theses phones retail at very little. They started off at £79.99 and then went to £69.99 and the £59.99. I believe that they can be bought for less than that now but I wouldn’t recommend one. Value isn’t a strong point on this phone as the amount of features it has is very little I would proberley prefer a 3210 or even 5110. Looks. If anything ... more

Advantages Advantages WAP, rubber wraps, radio

Disadvantages Disadvantages Big clunky design, no games, rubbish ringtones

Motorola really know how to make a good phone. It is incredibly feature-packed for a £40 (with a free Orange Out-Here pack) phone. This phone is on Orange and so will have slightly different features to the standard Motorola V.2288. I will list and comment on all the features of the phone. WAP Internet Access- The WAP part of the phone is great. It is simple to use and easy to configure. You can set one neat feature allowing the phone to auto-disconnect after so many seconds of inactivity (saving your phone bill!). I recommend getting a BT Talk 21 E-mail account if you have this phone because ... more

In this age of mobile mania, I believed I would NEVER succumb to the fate of owning my own phone. But for whatever reason a few months ago I went against all my previous reservations and became open to the world of communication. Of course deciding to buy one is the easy part, but choosing a particular model is where it can get tough. I’ve got to thank my ever-tolerant bruv for trailing around all the phone shops with me. As it turned out I bought the Motorola V2288e which he recommended I get in the first place, but I didn’t know that at the time. Me and my wee phone are ... more

Advantages Advantages Very easy to use and reliable

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Some misleading buttons

Motorola V2288e I was devastated when I lost my Nokia 7110e provided exclusively for Orange customers, and as I had no insurance was looking for the cheapest option available to me. This is when this nifty little thing came to light. The V2288e again is specific to Orange customers although is available to other providers also, but the model number is just V2288. What the difference is I am not actually to sure? I think it is something to do with the information services and the WAP capability of the phones. Orange customers have an automatic 12-month block on WAP sites that have not been ... more

Advantages Advantages High durablitlity and very easy to navigate

Disadvantages Disadvantages Rechargable batteries needed, common feautures found on other phones are not available

When I saw Harry Hill advertising this phone on the TV, I marveled at its sleek outlook and unique groovy colorful covers, and as I was in bad need of a phone at the time, I persuaded myself to invest in the Motorola V2288. When I received the phone the following day, I instantly ripped open the box, to find my new phone beckoning before me, gleaming with all its beauty, along with 2 covers, that somewhat resembles scuba diving material, hands free kit, a clip, along with a user guide, and not to forget your vital sym card. As I held the phone for the first time, I felt a tingle run down my ... more

    Advantages Advantages Cheap

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Lacks features

For some reason I kinda missed the whole mobile phone revolution, as if I'm quite honest the ability to phone people from anywhere doesn't appeal to me a great deal. I do like to keep in touch, I don't know where I'd be without Instant Messaging, but phone calls? I always just thought that I could do without phoning people on the move. Believe it or not, not every teenager in the country has or indeed wants a mobile phone! At times you just sit back and realise that the world has gone mad. You can't go to a restaurant, walk down the street or ride on a bus without someone shouting down their ... more

Advantages Advantages Looks stylish, practical, games, useful, Radio, WAP, cheap, value-for-money

Disadvantages Disadvantages It isn't a Nokia, no phone activation

I have tried several pay-as-you-go (or pay-and-go) as they are becoming known mobile phones in the short time that they have been available, and I have to say that this is my favourite by far. The phone is cheap and economical, and yet popular and with so many new features, it's quite unbeliveanle for the price. The phone has many advantages over other phones. Firstly, it is easy to use. When I first get phones, it usually takes me a couple of days to work out how to do what I want to get done on them. With this phone, I was 'with it' within a couple of hours. The different sections (eg ... more
