Advantages: A simple way to teach young children the basics of sex education Disadvantages: None
...title of the book says Mummy laid an egg. Well of course the kids being smart and one step ahead of their parents (nothing new there) decide that they'd better take charge and educate the parents. So they set about drawing diagrams to show mum and dad what really goes on. This is done in a very childlike way with simple drawings. The children explain how mum and dads bodies are different and are therefore able to fit together. Well this is the part ... ...children draw several pictures to show different positions. One shows mum and dad at it on a skateboard, another shows mum balancing on her head whilst dad is balancing on her and a colourful ball, another shows them floating up in the air tied to balloons and my favourite shows them going at it on a space hopper. The next stage goes on to show how the seeds then race into mums tummy in a mad dash to fertilise the egg. This done a baby then grows ...

Advantages: Factual and amusing Disadvantages: none obvious
...the drawings of the ways mummy and daddy "fit together|"...on a spacehopper, a skjateboard, involved in circus tricks.
They then describe the Great Egg Race and how the winner (GOTCHA!) starts a very small baby which grows and grows until out pops the baby "Hello mummy"

Advantages: Hilariously funny for adults, and children, and great pictures Disadvantages: would wait till child is about eight, younger probably won't understand the pictures or text
was in predicament of having to explain where babies came from, needed something light hearted, and finally found this book. It is fantastic, the pictures are colourful, they also lead to new questions being asked which the text hasn't explained. It is a very useful book as the light heartedness of it doesn't embarrass the child. And we both laughed at the end. The mum and dad cannot come to terms with telling their child the facts of life, so resort ... ...up all different versions along the way until the child sits them down and tells them the truth. I loved this book, and am going to get it for my daughter, as we borrwoed it from the library, and now is the time to go over it again as she is older. Price is £5.99 from Waterstones, and from Amazon sell used from £2.00. It's a great book and worth the money, as can be used again and again. ...
