Advantages: Firewire in for recording from Camera Disadvantages: can't edit hd recordings, noise
I paid 187 euros in Italy for this, elsewhere it was sold for 250-300 so I thought it would do the job. However, you can't edit hd recordings which is a major problem. If you want to record a movie and start ahead of time or turn off late and get a recording of more than 2 hours in good quality it won't fit on a DVD and since you cannot edit you can't burn it (or you need 2 DVDs).
Also it makes makes a lot of racket (say a medium noisy pc). So all ...
