A Fitness Coach In Your Living Room For £9.99

Advantages: Good gameplay, Good music, A good game overall
Disadvantages: Pain, lots of pain. But as they say, no pain, no gain

...of a different review from my last game one, as this one was actually way worth the money. Considering my age and lack of height, I am slightly steering into the overweight category, I still to this day partially blame it on an illness I had, because as soon as I got better my body seemed to find every piece of food I ate and distribute it somewhere on my body. I am not one for exercising though, I cycle weekly and walk just over a mile daily, however ...
...however, this did nothing for my weight loss as you controlled how much you did and there was not enough variety in each different section, it may be aimed at ‘losing weight’ but it never was able to do that for me. Then I heard about My Fitness Coach, I did have a Davina McCall exercise DVD, but after using it, I not only got quite bored but I could barely move for a week afterwards, so I decided to give this game ago. I had traded in a few games ...

A game that tries to make fitness fun.

Advantages: Much cheaper than Wii Fit. A serious workout can be customized to your requirements.
Disadvantages: Limited interactivity. With no balance board to track your movements you've got to be honest.

...a normal workout video? Well, My Fitness Coach has around 500 different workouts each of which can be customized to your own body measurements which you enter in before you start. To add variety there's also a choice of scenery and soundtracks such as Hip Hop, 80's, Latin and Dance; not exactly inspiring stuff, but at least there it offers some variety. I'm sure that, like with all fitness videos, it's something that people will eventually tire of, ...
...balance ball or hand weights, My Fitness Coach will let you incorporate them into your workouts, which is something that Wii Fit doesn't give you and helps offset the lack of the balance board. It also offers full length workouts, so there's no need to pause and go through the menus again midway through your workout to select the next segment. So, the crunch question; should you go for this or Wii Fit? I think Nintendo's offering is more of a game ...

A great way to get fitter

Advantages: Gives you a great workout
Disadvantages: Doesn't use the Wii Balance Board

...I have been supplementing my Wii Fit training with a Rosemary Conley DVD each morning to get in some aerobic training but, after about 9 months using the same DVD, it gets a bit boring and I was looking for something new. ==What is 'My Fitness Coach'?== It is an interactive programme which runs on the Wii Console which you can work with to improve your fitness. It offers a range of exercise routines at different levels to suit your needs. ==Out ...
...to suit yourself. In my case it suggested working out three days during the week but my preference is a short routine each day so I simply adjusted it. Then it takes you to a screen where you can choose what part of the body you want to exercise e.g. cardio, upper body, flexibility etc. There is also a Yoga section. You can also choose the exercise duration in 15 minute increments. The next screens allow to choose the music style for your workout ...

My Fitness Coach

Advantages: Flows nicely, good variety of moves, intensive
Disadvantages: It's not really very fun unless you like exercising

I bought My Fitness Coach for two reasons. The first was due to the fact that despite being thin, I've lost a lot of my toning and thought the summer holidays would be a good time to try and get it back. The second was that it was £9.99 online, and for that price I figured it didn't matter if I only ended up playing it once or twice! Let's talk about my approach to fitness. This is easy: I don't have one. I walk to university every day and I, uh, ...
...fairly quickly. My Fitness Coach is not a game, and it does not pretend to be. It is much more of a serious approach to exercise than Wii Fit is. Unless you are the sort who genuinely enjoys exercise (in which case you probably wouldn't have bought this anyway), you are probably not going to find this fun. But fun isn't it's purpose - it's purpose is simply to help the user lose weight, get in shape, gain muscle, whatever their goal is - and that ...

Makes you sweat but feels like any other fitness dvd

Advantages: Effective workout
Disadvantages: Coach is irritating, doesn't give exercises with stability ball, no tutorial for Yoga

I purchase My Fitness Coach (Wii) a couple of weeks ago from Amazon which was priced at £10. I had been using Wii Fit for a while but I wanted to have more exercises so I wouldn’t get bored. I was very excited when it arrived. As soon as the disk starts, you have to set up your profile and do a fitness evaluation. This basically asks your weight measurements and makes you do different exercises such as pushups and jumping jacks to check your pulse ...
...1-3. I was impressed after my first session because I sweated a lot and I could feel my muscles aching. Another advantage is that you do get a quick rest between certain exercises. One of the major issues which I have is that is the disk does not seem to register when I select that I have a stability ball. I have chosen this a couple of times but I don’t get any exercises with the ball. I don’t have this problem when I select hand weights. Another ...

My Fitness Coach is a hidden gem!

Advantages: Very personalized fitness routines, keeping the interest and motivation high.
Disadvantages: Poor graphics (but don't be put off by this)

...is the ONLY flaw on My Fitness Coach. And now the positives...This 'game' well 'training program' really but for the sake of brevity I shall refer to it as a 'game' henceforth. This 'game' gets to 'know' you as long as you're honest it will work in your favour. It doesn't weight you or judge you, but asks you how you feel each section went, you select the honest response and it will adjust the next workout to be either easier, the same or harder ...
...of my letting it know that it was too easy (selecting the 'no sweat' option) for it to raise the intensity and difficulty of the workout enough to suit my needs, it was a gradual increase in dificulty each of the following sessions. So basically, you need to be honest with it and it will tailor make workouts for you. Oh I nearly forgot the other excellent feature on this is that each workout is different , even if you select the same type of workout ...

My new fitness coach on the Wii!

Advantages: Good selection of exercises and very customisable.
Disadvantages: Doesn't intergrate with the Wii balance board.

After loving the Wii Fit game so much I decided that it was time to get another fitness game. I was worried that it was just going to be a cheap spin off of the popular Wii Fit game but it wasn't. This game is just £8.99 on Amazon which is an amazing buy! It really is worth the money and I would encourage you to try it out. I do wish that this game had intergration with the Wii balance board because I believe that would have made it more enjoyable, ...
...was that because there is almost 500 different exercises you never get bored. Some of the features include having a virtual fitness trainer! It is really is quite comic as it is so realistic! Your fitness trainer will give you advice and analyse you performance as you go so that you can see first hand how you are doing. If you are serious about wanting to lose weight or get fitter I think this is a greta game and it combines fun with exercising. ...
