My View
This game is educational, teaches spelling and vocabulary and still manages to be good fun. As you work through the training it unlocks new mini games and it gives you an expression potential every day based on how well you are doing and gives you a new job as you progress so you might go from teacher after a few days training to lawyer. The games
Missing Letter (Words have a missing letter - find the correct letter ... ...first month or so. My problem with it is that it expects you to cover too much in one session, I now play each game once and then hand it over to one of the kids to complete the session and get my job upgraded.
Definitely recommended for anyone with school age kids, mine don't realize that they are learning and seem to quite enjoy it. Adults will pick it up when they are bored but I don't think it'll bring you back day after day.

Advantages: Very clever and undoubtly provides help for struggling adults/older children Disadvantages: a pricey item if needing to purchase the consoles also
My word coach is for those of us that find ourselves as my partner says 'groping' for a word. Bless him. There are many times where we have had to write that all important letter to the bank or to a prospective new employer, only to be failed by our weak understanding of the British language, thanks to love letters under the desk and that sneaky sherbet fountain during your English lesson. And so here we all are 'groping' for those words to express ... ...bin before they have even got past your cover letter. So yes a fantastic game to teach kids and adults and yes my partner enjoyed it and now says he is 'grasping' for a word...it's a working progress I guess! But what's so wrong with reading a book these days.....? ...

Advantages: Easy to play and good fun Disadvantages: A bit "American"
...that annoy me. Firstly, my "tutor" keeps telling me "that was your best performance yet" even when I had to walk away from the game to answer the phone and scored practically nothing! Secondly, there are a lot of very American words. I don't think I have ever heard the word "pantsuit" used other than on American TV and there have been several other words that have had me, my husband and my children saying "what" even after being given the definition! ... ...some swotting.
There are also some games that you can play with others. These don't add points to your "profile" but personally, I find great satisfaction in beating my 9 year old on a game of missing letter!!!
Good fun and certainly can teach you something. ...

Advantages: Fun to play Disadvantages: sometimes boring
In the game there are many different activites that can be done to increase your vocabulary. These are from finding the missing letter in a word to matching words to their meaning. It is an overall effective way of increasing your vocabulary, because it makes the words you learn fit in your head. Another reason it is good is because it ecourages you to learn more through its expression potential which is basically how many words you know, and you ...
