Thanks to its... more...unassuming design with narrow bezel and compact housing dimensions, the NEC LCD1701 is also ideal for workstations where several LCDs stand side-by-side. The NEC LCD1701 17-inch LCD monitor provides a bright and accurately detailed picture and a large viewing angle of 140° horizontally and vertically at a contrast ratio of 10: 1 (160° horizontally and vertically at 5: 1). The pixel spacing of the monitor is 0.264 mm and the unit is capable of displaying 16.2 million colors. Bright and accurately detailed pictures are produced with a light intensity of 260 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 450: 1. The monitor's On Screen Menu with many different functions in eleven languages is easy to use. In addition, the monitor also automatically optimizes its settings by means of the No Touch Auto Adjustment feature (NTAA). In order to make life even easier for the user, NEC Display Solutions has developed its own software in the form of NaViSet, with the help of which the monitor can easily be set up using the mouse and keyboard. Recently, NEC Display Solutions has also been offering the extended version of this software, NaViSet Administrator. By means of this software, monitors can easily be administered and controlled via the network (LAN). Prerequisites for this are Windows 2000 or XP and the VESA standard DDC/CI, which is supported by the NEC LCD1701. The NEC LCD1701 features the international industry-standard sRGB, which is responsible for the identical reproduction of colors with sRGB-compatible peripherals. In addition, the NEC LCD1701 complies with all current standards and norms. Of course, in the development of the monitor, NEC Display Solutions has paid attention to the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). The monitor consumes 38 Watt in operation and 2 Watt in power-saving mode and can also be switched off completely so that it does not consume any power at all.
