Just popped the router cd in and ran through the setup. entered my new login details and away you go. Back in business. The router defaults to no encryption, and no access list, but has support for an access list, 64-bit and 128-bit WEP encryption, and WPA-PSK. All of these work well, though WPA is obviously recommended. The latest update also added support for VPN, which may be useful for some people. My desk top PC and now my son's laptop use the same router and the wireless signal has never failed. We do not suffer from connectivity issues and trust the routers security to protect us from freeloaders and hackers. I just had one laptop in my house and decided to go wireless so I could move it about easier. This router is great. 54 Mbps is loads more than I need. Its small and looks good and has a really good range. you can connect up to 4 devices and it comes with the latest security options to make it extra secure including the latest, WPA2/PSK I've never setup a router before and it was no easy task. Bought in place of a BT Homehub which was getting troublesome. Had some problems that were nothing to do with the router (BT fault), but Netgear support staff were very helpful. Once the fault was fixed the router worked perfectly, just sits in the corner doing it's job. Great piece of kit from a very helpful company.
