Advantages: Innovation, Responsiveness Disadvantages: Price, Ease Of Use
I purchased the Nintendo Wii after weeks of searching the internet for a shop that hadnt sold out and once i found one available i bought it immediately. The package came with Wii sports and a remote controller and i have to say that i was quite impressed. The controllers work well with the console and in particular with wii sports. The biggest issue that i have with the remote is the battery issue. Whilst the batteries do last a long time when installed, ... ...had this problem with my xbox 360 wireless controllers and would recommend anybody who was buying the controllers to also consider a quick charge kit to accompany it.
The unit is very responsive and works very well, this depends on where you put the sensor that is supplied with the wii so make sure that you read the manual carefully. But once you get it set up correctly the remote works fantastically.
The remote is well built and you can feel the ...

Nintendo Wii Remote Review By Vaza
INTRODUCTION
The Nintendo Wii Remote, dubbed “Wiimote” by many, is the main controller for the Nintendo Wii Games Console. The Controller uses motion sensing technology which changes the way “wii” play gaming. You can point, wave, twist and more with this amazing and innovative controller.
DESIGN
The Wii Remote, as the name implies, uses the shape of a Television remote to familiarise itself with non-gamers. ... ...the smart and well-thought-of design, Nintendo has created a controller that can be used by anyone, and something that makes playing games even more enjoyable. Why use an analog stick to aim when you can just point and shoot?
The Wii remote also show’s which controller your remote is assigned to, whether you are player 1 to 4 is shown here. You can also press any button on the remote while the console is off to check the battery, the lights will ...

...hard to believe that the Nintendo Wii has been unleashed to the European market for well over a year now, and I was one of the lucky few to hold the console on day one. I remember a slightly younger version of myself excited as though it was christmas day, although it was a few weeks previous. One of the first things I wanted to do was tell the internet all about it, and some may remember my original Wii remote review. Now, with 14 months experience ... ...of urine jokes. Once again Nintendo fought back by claiming the title of the console, Wii, represented the idea of playing together. You know they say he who laughs, laughs loudest, and that statement could not be more true as Nintendo have already succeeded in killing off this 'console generation war' by designing a product everybody wants. ===http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=60913===

...is an easy way for Nintendo to make a bit of extra cash as they retail for a joint price of around £41. The price has come down slightly since it was first released but it still seems slightly on the expensive side. The Wiimote works in a series of different ways. With the use of an internal intelligence system it can tell which way the Wiimote is being held, either vertically or horizontally and also detects the movements being made. Obviously this ... ...works incredibly well and as Nintendo are coming up with more and more little additions to make the Wiimote a little easier to use, such as a protective padded cover and rechargeable battery pack. The Wiimote can also be used with a variety of different attachments like the steering wheel for Mario Kart and the Guitar for Guitar Hero. All in all despite the price of £28 for just the Wiimote it is a very good control system that really emphasises ...

...supplied when you purchase the Nintendo Wii.
I don't think its much to look at, but here is a case where form followed function. It appears to be a pretty average remote control pad but it's far from that.
It consists of 8 buttons on the top:
- Power on/off
- Direction pad
- Button A
- '-' Button
- Home Button
- '+' Button
- Button 1
- Button 2
As well as the Button B on the underside.

(It might be able to sense more, but I've yet to see any games with more than four players available on the Wii). Essentially you can twist, swing, slice, point with your Wii Remote and thus it has numerous possibilities to represent various objects in a game. For example in Wii Sports, it is a Tennis Racquet, Baseball Bat, Bowling Ball, Golf Club and it ...

...the primary controller for the Nintendo Wii. Its main unique feature is its ability to sense motion, allowing the infamous on screen interaction in Wii games. The Wii remote is an interesting device. On the plus side, it is innovative and brave, like nothing that's gone before it. The optical sensor inside it allows for extremely realistic and accurate use: it acts on screen exactly as it does in your hand, which is VERY impressive. This is true ... ...away from the screen, which is mind boggling but great. It just shows how close we are to complete virtual reality games (exciting). On the negative side, the shape is rather difficult to use easily - the grip you have to take only allows your thumb to navigate the main panel of buttons, which is more difficult than if it were your index finger. This, along with the cramped buttons, sometimes results in pressing (for example) the pause button during ...

Advantages: Good Features. Well Made Disadvantages: A little expensive
As mentioned in my review of the Wii Nunchuck I have had my Wii for a few weeks but haven’t had chance to review it so am starting with the peripherals.
The Wii uses wireless controllers (it was the first games console to do this) that communicate with the main console via bluetooth. Unfortunately the Wii only comes with a single controller and as the main fun with the Wii comes from playing against friends and family I immediately purchased a second ... ...anywhere on line or the high street).
The controller is white plastic (the same as the Wii itself) styled like a small TV remote and is solidly made and feels even more so when the 2 AA batteries are put in. The remote which has a wrist strap (to prevent it flying from your hand and smashing your TV or other fragile items when you get a bit too enthusiast ) feels very comfortable in you hand with the main buttons in just the right places. ...

Advantages: Durable and Sleek Disadvantages: Wired to the Nunchuck controller, battery powered.
With the release of the Nintendo Wii, controller design was always going to be an integral part of the console. As a result, Nintendo have opted for the sleek approach, no bigger than an average TV remote. Working in tandem with the Wii Sensor Bar (which comes with the console), it allows for the gamer to point and use the remote as if they were in the game. This review is mainly to give pointers with many questions and queries often asked about ... ...use of the controller.
The controllers work using AA Batteries (though an AAA battery adapter was provided in my Wii bundle) and this can be quite expensive especially if this console is played on very regularly. I recommend that Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries are purchased in order to get the full potential of the product. This puts it behind other console remotes in some respect as they are unable to be charged directly form the console like the ...

...it's a great idea, just Nintendo didn't quite pull it off to the level that was expected and as a result it's a controller with a pointer on the end as opposed to the next step in gaming. As a “normal” controller it does the job though does seem a bit backwards in the world of the 360 control and the Six-Axis, as a wand control it's yet to really find any games that make the best use of what could well be best served as the job for a mouse (point ... ...that Nintendo have so far put out (Mario and Zelda excepted) have done little to show off how great the control can be.

Advantages: Easy to use, unique and fun Disadvantages: Batteries run out quickly
The Nintendo Wii remote looks a bit like a white TV remote control. It is completely unique and there is nothing else like it. It is also known as the "Wiimote" and it is motion sensitive and the motion is sensed by the sensor bar on top of the TV.
This remote can be held horizontally or vertically. It is normally held vertically but in some games e.g. driving games you hold it horizontally and turn the remote like a steering wheel. The Wiimote takes two AA batteries but I suggest buying a rechargeable battery pack or batteries because the normal batteries run out pretty quickly especially if playing wirelessly against people all over the world. The remote also has a little slot on the bottom for the Nunchunk controller to be plugged in as this is ...

A game controller shaped like a TV remote, the new wii remote has already been called revolutionary excessively. So why is it being called the future of games? Well although the wii remote has very few buttons it has a few features that put the more expensive consoles to shame.

The Wii Remote is to be used in conjunction with the Wii console, both made by Nintendo. The Wii Remote is pretty much a one of a kind as UK gadgets go.
